I'm new to CS5.5 after being away since, I think, Macromedia was around. I just bought CS5.5 soley for creating simple, fun Android apps for my son (animated storybooks etc).
However, I'm constantly changing my phones and we also have a tablet and the wife has a phone with a small resolution.
What I'm wanting to do, is create an app that's at a resolution for my tablet (1024x600), but then also be able to scale it down to my Optimus 3D (800x480) and the Wife's Xperia Mini Pro (640x480)
Now, there will be bitmaps in there, so I didn't want the phone/Air resizing the app to fit the screen and using more ram and cpu than needed so I was wanting to create 2 or 3 versions all at different resolutions.
I'm doing and animatic movie with flash (means lots of hand drawn frames and many layers) I also have about 40 sequences
I would like to scale down my whole movie to a smaller size like 720*480 (actual is 1980*1080) but when I change size in "propery" window it just change the size of workspace and drawings stays the same size.
is there any way to have the graphics scale to the new document size without using "transform tool" on each sequence, because flash crashes when I do that.
I cant "center" my project, like you can see its "fixed" (yellow lines) in the left side and I cant see "invisible" part of project... (area around the project). how can I move my project so I can see the not-project area around the project. (picture 2).
At the moment situation... (cant see that area around the project) http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/1186/68553623.png
I am trying to create a custom resize event as part of a larger project to create a flexible liquid layout class.Basically, i want an object to listen for the stage.RESIZE event. If i can listen for this event from multiple objects, it solves my event firing problem.[code]
I'm new to Flash authoring, and something seems puzzling. I see that it is possible in Flash to render an animation (project) to AVI or MOV video formats, and it seems to work fine (although you can't choose your AVI codec,
which seems like a trivial feature to put in. Is there a way to render a Flash animation to FLV? I am working on a project that will play FLV video files inside an FLV player object (SWF object). I would like to create FLVs from inside Flash, using the nifty animation tools and whatnot, and have them play in the same manner as the other FLV videos created by other tools (e.g., FinalCut Pro edited video). I realize the FLV is video
I recently discovered the Project panel with the Flash application. I'd like to start using it on a regular basis, but I can't seem to figure out how to do a multi-file search of all the AS files included in a Project. From what I can tell, the search functionality within the Flash app only looks at the current document. Or is there a way to do a global search for a text string within a Project?
My problem is that my old computer *exploded* last week and i was making a project for my dad so I lost my (.fla) file. But, I have an animation of that same project in (.swf) on my USB Key because I've exported it just before my computer crash just to watch what It was looking like. So my question is, is it possible to open my (.swf) in Flash Pro and get all my snippet code back and all my frame back and everything else (like if it was my (.fla) project?)
I need to add 2 JPG images to the front of a video and then reupload it as YouTube video. I downloaded the video from YouTube as both a FLV and a MP4 file. Is Flash the best program to add the graphics? If so, how do I get it back to FLV or MPG format? Do I need to get the orginal file from my distributor?
I am in the process of updating all of my symbols in a project I am working on, and found that some of the objects are set to temporary paths, I guess I had just imported from the clipboard, as opposed to importing an actual saved file.
Anyway, there is one particular graphic object that, according to my library, is in use in 1 place in my project, but I can't for the life of me find where that is. Is there any way to locate instances of objects in the library? Or am I going to have to go through my entire project, piece by piece?
have been making a digital portfolio that I plan on putting up as a website. Once before the project has gotten very large (at the time 500megs). Now this originally large project had gotten to the point where it was telling me there wasn't enough memory. What I did to fix this was copy and paste all the frames from each scene into several new projects and then piece those new projects together to remake my complete project.
I am now doing this again but at this point piecing back the last scene of mine is taking up too much memory. I have 4 gigs of memory on a 3.06 GHz intel core 2 duo imac. first off, should this be happening? Should 4 ghz be enough? second, it appears that flash projects tend to compile a lot of baggage; is this true? Thirdly, is there any way I can fix this without buying two more 4 gig memory cards?
I am trying to embed a 3rd party flash component into my current flash project. As a stand alone, the component works fine but when I try and import the xml file for the component into my current flash project library, the message I get:
" one or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them" I have tried importing the xml file into another dummy cs4 project on another machine and again no success, so I believe there are elements within the xml file that will not work with cs4. Below is the xml file code.
If I have a project that I want to make into both a .swf for an online game and an AIR desktop app, can I do that, or do I have to pick when I first create the file? Once I choose 'Flash File (Actionscript 3.0)' or 'Flash File (Adobe AIR)' am I restricted to only one or the other?
Is there anyway to have a projector ALWAYS fullscreen, and use an flvplayback component with fullscreen button at the same time? It seems that they're somehow incompatible. If I have multiple instances of an flvplayback component on different scenes, when the projector is fullscreen, jumping to a scene with an flvplayback on it, leads to having a black screen only!
I'm currently trying to use a swf file inside my flash project. I have actually found a half solution in that loadMovieNum does what I want, except I want the external .swf to be inside my project, and so it's compiled into the same .swf. This would then mean that the external .swf doesn't need to be present thereafter.
how to convert my curent Flash Professional project into an AIR project.
I've been using Flash Pro to do animations with some minor coding in the frames, and I'm using Flash builder to do the coding. However I realized that my application needs to be able to use the File system, which means I'll need to use AIR's API. However there's no way for me to import AIR's library to my flash builder project
I have an project that when you enter a certain number and click a ''enter'' button, it send you to an image (forest picture, desert picture, town picture, etc). In these pictures, I've hidded some object. In exemple, in the forest picture, there's some blue birds, red birds, green birds, etc. I want people to find them and click on them to get some information about these birds. The thing is that these birds are hidden. When I open my picture with windows viewer, i can zoom-in and find them with the little hand toolso everything is fine cause I can find them. The problem is that when I export my project as an animation, we can't find the birds because we cant's zoom in. My question is, is there a way to zoom-in these images and navigate trought them (with the little hand tool) like we can do with windows viewer? Or is there a way to just Zoom-in my animation?
I am about to start on a project for a friends web site, he would like a simple flash animation and this of course will be viewed in Internet Explorer once it is posted to his site. My question is; if I create some of the imagery in photoshop save it as a .png and use it within my Flash movie will it read correctly in Internet Explorer?
I am trying to create a project with multiple pages. I stumbled across a tutorial demonstrating how to load and unload swf's. I used it and it works. way i could specify a btn or mc in the loaded swf that will specify the "click" area where the unload content takes place? Right now if i click anywhere on the loaded swf it unloads (i want that to be specified).
var myLoader:Loader=new Loader (); page1_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, page1content); function page1content(myevent:MouseEvent):void {
'm a complete newbie, trying to create an educational app for a Masters project. The app will have various sections so I started by creating labels for each section along the timeline and set up all the navigational buttons. So far so good.I'm working on creating the content for the first section. I've created a button that leads the user to another "page" in the first section where I've inserted an audio file. I wanted to created a tween to accompany the audio explanation with some moving symbols and at the end two more buttons would appear that give the user 2 choices of where to click.the tween I want to create is about 18 seconds long (432 frames). After this, I will create another similar tween to deal with another audio explanation. This gives me a problem. Tthe timeline only appears to go up to 600 frames - not enough for my needs and who knows how many frames I'll need by the time the app is finished.
1 - Is there a way to extend the timeline beyond 600? (I would have to shift all my other sections along to accommodate my inserted tweens, but that's not the end of the world)
2 - Is this the best way to do things, having super-long motion tweens? I know I could add a video, but what I like about my tween idea is that the user sees stuff appearing as the voice explains and the option buttons only appear at the end of the tween, stopping the user from clicking them before the voice explanation finishes.
I am trying to embed a video file into my flash project and I want to to play till the end and jump to a different frame in the timeline. I tried to emport the video into flash and it says that the file is not supported. Can I not do it or do I need to convert the mpeg file into some sort of fla file?
I have got a little problem with ipmorting alivePDF library into my project. I`v written something like that:[code]Hovewer it doesn`t want to work. I have got those errors:1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: PDF. var myPDF: PDF = new PDF( Orientation.LANDSCAPE, Unit.MM, Size.A4 );1180: Call to a possibly undefined method PDF.var myPDF: PDF = new PDF( Orientation.LANDSCAPE, Unit.MM, Size.A4 );
I have a Logo.swf file which play once and stops. I want to use this flash movie in another flash project using LOADER. What actually I need is, I want to play this movie every 10 seconds interval using Actionscript 3.
I have made a flash site using CS3.I bought a preloader online but cant get it to work (not getting any responce from the site where I bought it). It should be straight forward. Copying the loader movieclip to the first frame in my timeline and so on. Gon through the instructions several times and is pretty sure I´m not missing anything.Anyway, when publishong I get the following error message:[code]Warning: 1058: Migration issue: The property _root is no longer supported. This property has been removed. The closest equivalent is the Stage, which serves as the root of the ActionScript 3.0 display list..I do believe the actionscript used in the preloader is v.2 and the project is made in AS3.
VB6 developers who have gone in to do maintenance on their applications that call flash.ocx are finding that they can no longer save their projects because of some change that was introduced by Adobe in the release following flash10e.ocx.ork around is given of uninstalling flash and installing any version on or before 100452. Because the applications still run fine until the developer tries to make a change and save the VB6 project, the scope of this problem has probably not been fully realized. For this reason, this issue will likely only gain momentum in the future.
I spent the morning contacting several people at Adobe and I discovered the only way apparently to get support for this issue is to open a "web case". From further research, what I understand a "web case" costs around $200 and with that price there is nothing telling me what comes with a "web case" I mean, if I were to buy one, would the problem be fixed or would they research it and say "I am very sorry but we are not going to fix that". If there is a guarantee that the problem will be fixed, then can Adobe establish a pool where the $200 cost can be shared by everyone who has the issue? That couldn't be more than a buck or two each because if you google this problem "System Error &H80004005 using flash.ocx" you will find about 5 pages of people reporting the problem
I'm using flash cs5.5 and today I opened my project to start working... just to find out that the project panel does not work. When I click the tab to expand it, flash hangs for a minute and then it works, but the panel is blank, empty. The odd thing, I saved the project as CS5 version to open it in the CS5 Flash, but CS5 it's broken too.
I tried opening Flash (both versions) without loading any project and the tab does not work either.
Right now I'm designing an application for smartphones and tablet. What I am interested to know is whether I can integrate specific functions. These app would include:
1 The automatic screen rotation 2 Scroll page (in particular pages I will have a list of which need scrolling)3 will have many pages and would require a small search engine
I've finished my flash site using a resolution of 1024x768: my professor wasn't so happy of a resolution so "high" (even if today is something like standard) since somebody might still have an old monitor with low res.Since I really don't want to get a bad vote I wanted to change the resolution to 1000x550 because with that res a 1024x768 monitor still can see everything: then I've exported my .swf file and then into the .HTML file I've changed the width and height fields.
I'm trying to resize an animation I have larger, it has 12 layers, and 20 frames or so on each layer. I'm using edit multiple frames and selecting them all, and it is working to resize them, but randomly it will delete one of my objects for a few of the frames. When I scrub through the timeline after the resize, something is always missing, but it's always a random object and only for a few frames
How to embed a YouTube video file in particular place of my Flash project, should I do this in action panel or in final html file. Here is exactly what I'd like to do: On this website [URL] under 'Film' panel I have some movie samples, and after clicking buttons on right side I'd like to play embedded YouTube clips instead of flv.samples uploaded to my ftp. as it takes too long for customers to download them.
My company is working on a casual game which is entirely made in Flash. To speed up development/compile time we split some of it up into SWC files, for example dialog controls, cutscenes, particle effects are all controlled via SWC files. This was working great up until a few days ago, we have been working on this project for about 8 months with no major problems. However, now all of a sudden, when we compile the game, none of the SWC files work. The game compiles and runs ok, but nothing from the SWC files are working.
The strange thing is that if we remove one of the SWC files from the folder (the game reads all the SWC files from one folder) then the game will work. Even if you remove a SWC which isnt immediately used by the game it will still work. It's almost as if there is some limit to how many SWC files you can have loaded. (There are only 10 SWC files in the folder we are loading from).
