View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a soundboard and I have all my buttons and stuff, the only thing left is to put the sound files in. However, I have tried adding them to the library and dragging and dropping them over the HIT option like I usually do, but when I export the swf file, the sound file sounds terrible, it crackles and sometimes stutters a bit. I have tried setting these sound files to mp3 and raw in adobe options but with no luck. I am using actionscript 2.0 if that has anything to do with it. Also, I need these files embedded, not just linked.
View 2 RepliesI am using Soundbooth to record some sounds. I'm trying to save them as either a MP3 or WAV,but no matter bitrate I use for either file type, I get an error when I try to import it into Flash. I have the newest QT installed from the wormy fruit vendor, does not make a difference. I can save it as an .asnd and import it just fine, but that file type is huge.The files that give me the error open just fine by themselves in WMP
View 4 RepliesI am trying to create a Flash application(more like a game) where a user can add sounds to a timeline and then play the resulting "song". That is not really hard to do, and the resulting track can be saved and played within my app, but the problem is that I would like to export the created track as a .wav(or .mp3). I know that recording from a microphone with MicRecorder is possible and then the record can be exported with WaveEncoder, but I didn't find a way to create a custom sound stream from multiple sounds and than export it. Is this possible?
View 1 RepliesWhere are some good places to get high quality click, ambience, swoosh sounds to use in flash sites/projects etc? So I can use them on rollovers, interface loading etc.
View 3 RepliesI have been working on an animation. I have imported my sounds to the library and streamed them live to the animation. They dont sound as good (muffled and distorted) when I publish the preview (flash or html). They sound fine within flash. When I switched the properties from "stream" to "event" it seemed to work great in the preview. I added a few more sounds and now only the first two mp3 clips sound clear and the rest now sound not so clear. They sound okay but I cant figure out why the rest sound bad? They now all have the exact same settings as the first two..
View 3 RepliesI have AIFF streaming audio in Flash CS4 (does it in CS5 too) and it sounds fine in Flash, but when I publish it I get a glitch/noise sound in a few places. It does this no matter what audio format I export, including RAW.The source doesn't have the glitch sound, it doesn't have it in Flash itself, but it does when I publish it.
View 2 RepliesI need a flv with two sound. I want to load load two different sound for one flv file. For example I want to load my flv file in frame 1 with sound 1 then I want to load my flv file in frame 2 with sound 2. How can I do it?
View 7 RepliesI followed the mp3player tutorial (part 3) from [URL] and got it working fine. Only problem is that the setVolume I'm trying to use with my music is affecting all my other sounds - button sounds and background sound. I'm aware of the createEmptyMovieClip/attachSound approach and got it working on my other sounds. But Lee's tutorial-mp3player is using a slight different technique, and so my normal approach doesn't quite work.

I want to synchronize sounds perfectly to do a kind of Audio Mixer, using different sounds. [URL] does it perfectly, I've been researching and researching and I just don't know how to do it! How does [URL] synchonize audio so perfectly? you can even change sounds and the new ones will come on time! How do I do that? Is it just Action Script? or something else?
View 1 RepliesI'm working on adding sound effects to a short animation. The first few sounds are syncing perfectly, however when I test the movie in Flash Player, at about the middle part of the animation, the sounds no longer sync; they play ahead of where they are supposed to. Testing the movie right in Flash, though, the sounds are fine. Exporting to a SWF file as well as a MPEG-4 also plays the unsynched sounds where they are not supposed to be
View 7 RepliesI have the alphabet in a background picture, and when I click on the letter, the letter sound is played. Simple enough. I have all 28 letters in seperate mp3 files. I can embed the 28 files into the swf. I want to use add the sound files to a vector, and then just play the appropiate sound based on the location that the user clicked.
My question is what is the best way to load all these sound files.
I could do something like this:
var sndVector:Vector.<Sound> = new sndVector.<Sound>().
sndVector.push( new "name of class assigned to sound 1"() );
sndVector.push( new "name of class assigned to sound 2"() );
....
sndVector.push( new "name of class assigned to sound 2"() );
I am kind of lazy, so I don't want to do that. I could load the files at runtime, from a server, or my hard drive, by I would like to keep all the files embeded in the swf file if I can.
Ideally I would like to just throw all my sound files into the library, NOT assign them class names. (because I am lazy again), and then access them anyway form actionscript and push them onto the vector.
I have a website that has two flash items on it. I have a swf that calls mp3s that plays on the page load, and I have a FLV that plays on page load. What I would like to happen is: on page load the FLV plays when the FLV Finishes the swf starts to play the mp3s. What already happens is that the pages load in _blank pages so they are in new windows. This is good because while you navigate the site, the music from the homepage is still cycling through the swf's mp3 playlist. The problem comes in when you navigate back to the homepage from a new window, and the homepage is still open within the first window. That means that the video plays over, while the music is playing, and the music doubles up. Now the video playing isn't bad, it's that music is doubling up. Can't it sense itself playing a 2nd instance of itself on another webpage and stop it?
View 3 RepliesI searched everywhere but no answer.i have a main Movie containing many movieclips with sound atttached in their timeline. When i change to a different frame from my main movie ( Main Timeline) the sound from my old movieclips continue to play. It seems that sounds are still in memory and clips are not garbage collected.I've tried unloadAndStop from CS4 with flash player 10 but still the same problem? my movie clips will continue to play sounds in different frame from maintimeline
View 4 RepliesI have a film with 4 scenes in it: Here's a link to the film and as you can see the film does not play the music the second time because of the StopAllSounds function which is probably the wrong code to use. The first scene is just a button with 1 frame, a stop action and a music clip. The second scene is the film. The third scene is the credits fourth scene is a Play again button. I have a Stop all Sounds action on the fourth scene because if I do not use it and I press the Play Again button, the music from the first song keeps playing but also the music from the film starts up again so it starts to play twice. What I want to know is, how do I get the music to stop at the end of the film but start up again once I hit Play Again?
I am using Flash CS3 if that helps and using Actionscript2.
I have created a booklet in InDesign cs4 that includes page turn transitions. I have saved it as a SWF file and it works perfectly on my PC with the ability to sweep through the page turns. My issue is now, what type of file can I export the SWF file to so that I can view it on an iPad and am still able to have the page curls?
View 3 RepliesI have a problem with SharedObject. I created SharedObject using AS2.0 it's working fine.... my question is can it possible to store the variable values in an .txt file where the flash file is saved... basically the SharedObject will store the vallues in localdrive with file extention. not only using SharedObject if any other way to store the vaules in .txt file will be helpfull for me... my requirement is to store the the position of the swf file and when the time it reopen, it should start from previous position.
View 2 RepliesI changed a layer entry of my Flash file by moving around various elements within the layer. I sitll have the original file, too. I'd like to put it back exactly like it was in the original file. How do I replace the changed sprite element from the new file with the original from the old file?

View 1 Repliesi want to know how i can put a flash file inside a flash wbsite. i have found a tutorial [URL] that says something like that but in this tutorial if i understand correctly it creates a new flash project and add another swf inside. i have my website created and i just want to add video gallery, image gallery etc that are already swf. how i can do that?
View 1 RepliesI have been working on a project for a week and suddenly it crashed during save (nothing strange had been imported or anything i just saved after moving content around) and now i cant open my file again. I contacted adobe support who claim that since the problem is related to the file this is not their problem, what a load of HORSE ****, who should i contact about this dell if its an FLA FILE!? I have already renamed the file to flash.zip then opened with WinRar and repaired as a new zip file to a different folder (which removes the corrupt content which is document something.xml) then i tried renaming this folder back to flash.fla however the file still does not open.
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to find out if it's possible to use a .ICO file instead of a .PNG or .JPEG file in my Flash project. Is this even possible? The reason I'm asking is that the project I'm putting together uses ActionScript 2.0 code (not sure if that makes a difference or not) and displays a bunch of images for a bunch of different applications. So instead of creating a .PNG file for each application, since I've already got .ICO files on hand, I'd rather use those (saving me a ton of time).
View 4 Repliestrying to work out why Flash is publishing an unexpected swz file with one recent project. From what I can tell this is an optional run-time library used to reduce file size. My problem is that it is causing all sorts of text formatting grief when I try to import my swf into Adobe Captivate. how I can publish a swf without generating a swz? Why on earth has Flash opted to generate this unexpected file in the first place (assuming user error, but can't work out what I've done)?
View 3 RepliesI asked a conversion question on the Apple forums since I wasn't getting any response on here I am trying to get my flash files over to iMovie without losing quality by converting to a quickmovie file. I was told on the Apple forums to look into a mac file converter. I asked this on there and now I'm asking it on here, hoping for a response this time. Does anyone agree with this method and if so, which file converters are best and are there any good free ones?
View 1 RepliesI have a Flash and swf file right now. I want to be able to play that file in another Flash file I'm making, the main Flash document. However, Flash CS4 cannot import other swf files.... for some unknown reason, and play it like a movie clip. I want it to play like a movie clip, which apparently can only be accomplished by using a flv file. Shouldn't I be able to make my swf or flash file into a flv file? I mean, Flash can read flv files, so why can't I export or convert to a flv file? I'm looking for free converters, but I have the Media Encoder that comes with Flash CS4. I just can't import swf or flash files! It can only make those files, it can't bring them into Media Encoder.
View 1 RepliesI have a Flash (.swf) I have dropped on my desktop. All I see is a white icon and when I click on it, a window comes up asking what service I should use to open it. I dont have Flash as in the client application installed however do have Flash and Shockwave Players installed.Although I dont have the client Flash application installed, in the past I have NEVER had an issue where .swf files did not resolve as an actual FLASH file.

View 3 Repliesask:i want to create an audio sequence.there are 8 predefined sound-starting-points in the timeline.for each starting-point, the user can select wich sound is played (dropdown menu).when the user made his choice for all the 8 bars.actionscript should gather this information and create a fluid sequence of these 8 sounds.then there will be a "play" button available for the user to start the sequence.the sounds don't have to be synced to a button or so.there is time for actionscript to put the sequence together.problem:when i put two sounds directly one after another in a movieclip, there is no delay between the sounds, which is exactly what i want, but i can not control which sound is played through actionscript.when i use actionscript, there is a delay between the sounds.here is what i tried with as.this is placed in the frame where sound2 should start
if (_global.Sound2 == "Piano" {
var SoundA:Sound = new Sound ();
SoundA.attachSound("Piano.mp3");
[code].....
I need to turn off/on all the sound for a flash animation. The flash control contains a layer named sounds that has 5 sounds associated with it in keyframes at different time. How can I simply turn on/off everything using a symbol button.
