Dec 2, 2009I have a XML music player that so far - Gets mp3s from an xml file. Has controls for play, pause, previous track, next track. The next thing I need it to do is display a dynamic text field with the current mp3 track length counting down to zero as the song plays. This countdown needs to stop and start as and when the pause/play is pressed.

I have a lot of traces because I can't figure out what is going on. When you roll over the menu_hello, it stops the "up" perfectly, and on rollout resumes. but if it is going down, and you rollover, and the trace confirms the down, and the rolling over.... but IT DOESNT STOP.

Mar 2, 2010We are creating a 30-track mixing desk to demonstrate our percussion instruments. Take a look at www.bellpercmixer.com. As you can probably hear, the audio is not properly syncing up.
The files should be exactly the same length (8 seconds) but they are mp3s so I don't know if the compression messes the length up as I know it adds the gap between the loop? More than likely, it is my lack of action script skill that has caused this problem... e.g. does each track need to be on a separate layer with a sync-track type thing? May 23, 2011I had to create a flash file which has animations, an audio track and at the end a set of html links.
The flash file to have stop and play buttons. Correct me if I'm wrong but to do this I would have to render the flash file as an mov, convert that to an flv and import the flv into a new flash file and use THAT swf which will contain the playback component of my choice.
If so Now, the problem is how can I get the links at the end of the file to work as when I convert to mov the actionscript is no longer working.

The way the site is setup now....when a visitor clicks "music off", it turns off the sound for the background music and FLV movie.

I added another timeline layer and inserted my music file which is 4:03 minutes long which I set to loop as well. However after it has been playing for about 15-20 seconds it sounds like it is layering another music file on top of the existing one and so on and so forth, so a couple of minutes

Mar 8, 2012Never thought waiting seven years to update my software would be such a relearning experience...lol In Flash MX to add audio into a movie clip, animation, etc, all you needed to was add the file to your library and drag it onto the frame in which you wanted the audio to play. However when I try this in CS5.5 nothing happens. I'm sure there's just a different implementation now, and I don't know what it is.

Apr 30, 2011I'm working on an animation where I have my "dog" fighting the evil vacuum cleaner. I got most of it to work the way I want it to.
1) I have movie clips entitled pepper_mc (where my dog is supposed to be walking), swirl (where a swirly-type symbol is supposed to spin over the dead vacuum's head), and vacuum_mc (where the evil vacuum is supposed to have a swinging arm (called vacuumarm_mc) that I created using the bone tool). When I add them to the stage and test them, the animations within the movie clips don't happen.
2) I have background music that I'd like to stop playing at the end of the animation, but I'm not sure how to do that. (using the stop(); actionscript doesn't help).Where am I going wrong? I'm using Flash Pro CS5.

Jul 18, 2010I have made a corporate presentation in Flash (CS3). The structure is as follows. The main timeline just 6 key frames. 1 intro and 5 content. Each of the 6 key frames has a movie clip with relevant content on it.
After the introduction in key frame 1, the timeline stops at the next key frame.From here, one can navigate forward and backward between the 5 content key frames, using buttons.These buttons are available throughout these five key frames.
Each of the key frames contains a relevant movie clip, with content.And also a sound clip to introduce what that key frame contains. Since a user can navigate forward and backward at any point of time, all these keyframes have the frame action:
