I'm scaling text from small to large using tweens, but when the text is scaled, it turns into these unreable blobs. The text is still editable, just not useful. (The output looks fine, however.)Is there a setting, or a different method, I should be using to scale text in a tween to prevent this?

On the timeline I have used both motion tween and classic tween to create a aplha change from 0% to 100%.I made sure I have enoough space on my timeline (10 frames).The aplha tween works fine in preview mode however when I export the swf the aplha tween is no longer working? I have tried breaking the text,restarting flash,restarting my computer and similar suggestions from other blogs such as:
I was able to solve this by checking the box "Use runtime bitmap caching" under Blend in the properties panel for the MovieClip in question.I am currently using Flash CS5 on a imac.
I am new at flash CS4. (Upgraded to Flash CS 5 but this gives other problems in the meantime I continue with CS4)I have created webpage. Within the web page I have created Motion Tween with Motion editor and once previewed, it works fine. Going back to the stage and previewing the result shows the initial position of the Motion tween but it doesn't move and behave the way it shoud. What's missing? Where am I going wrong?

View 1 RepliesWhile I'm just a beginner right now it/I'm an experienced computer user and I have really enjoyed/but when I'm looking at it now I'm trying to use flash to edit a website template, for example monster templates. I bought a template from the site and nine trying to edit it now and well it just seems like it's a very very long process to do something kind of where I just want to look at the page and I want to edit the text and only I go to bed doesn't seem to be the case. So I'll show you what I mean.
When I'm using the program and I'm in Adobe flash I'm looking now at the screen inside the program and there's no text I see the graphics images and there's no text and also is that some type of way where it's easy to navigate link to link where I can just edit the text what supposed to be in there rather than search for the funeral push page up and down until I come across just a white background with tax and then have to edited which is pretty confusing because I don't know where that's located but I the general idea that if you change it but surely there must be an easier way.
So basically I'm including a screenshot that shows you exactly what I'm talking about. Basically once again I'm in fashion items Sandy text so it's kinda hard to see what was going on or whatever so you can see the snow text located in the thing but however when I publish the file yeah you can see the text and everything I'm kinda looking for some type of you well be able to see this and just edited really. I know there are other programs out there like SWF edited her or quick note to some like that. But I really wanted to use flash, unexperienced Photoshop user and I really love all Adobe products and I really think that this is the master program to use however I'm really don't want it as of right now it's been about 40 days and nine still a bit lost navigating through the program will I'm just really just China entities tax bills and just go through the site. Now I realize I should have the respect for beautiful program like this and it's not been a be set up to the way that I'm hoping it Siskind be a point-and-click editor I understand that. I'm just wondering if anybody has any type suggestions or perhaps of I'm missing something which is fantastic.

if you feed the textarea text attribute with an tag that has a valid src url, then for some reason flex will try to render everything as html.Eg, try this:<mx:TextArea id="textArea" width="100%" height="90%" text="<img src='http://url-to-a-valid-img"/> and instead of it rendering it as raw text it will render it as an html.
View 2 RepliesI am currently using Flex SDK 3 for an enterprise application. We have enabled scaling in the application so that it fits the window. This works great, except for one problem. Text inside of components can get cut off depending on how big/small the application gets scaled. Specifically, I am talking about the Button component and the TabBar component. When text inside a button gets cut off, it actually displays a "..." instead of the missing characters. Which is funny, because often times the missing characters would have taken up less space. The text in the tabs, on the otherhand, just gets cut off arbitrarily.
View 0 RepliesI have scaled down some JPG's in flash and they look fine but when I publish to a SWF they look pixelated. I've read other threads and done what is suggested i.e. Smoothing on or off, JPG's instead of PNG's and quality at 100% with no success. I know that Flash isn't a resolution based application and bitmaps are but the images look fine in the Flash IDE.
View 6 RepliesI have a dynamic text which is subject of a motion tween. Before the tween starts I assign it a new text value. Now I noticed that at both the first and last keyframe of the tween the text value is reset to its design time value. Is there a way to avoid this, so that it retains the newly assigned value?
View 2 RepliesIs it possible to export a 9-slice scaled object as a transparent PNG? At the moment File > Export > Export Image > Transparent PNG will not output any 9-slice objects. This is quite a hassle, since I can't seem to get these objects transparently into Photoshop or Illustrator (both CS4) - what's the use of working with 9-slice objects if you can't export them flattened even to other applications? I use them extensively, but looks like I will have to convert them all the separate movieclips without this cool functionality, since it is more a pain than anything else once you need to use these graphics outside Flash CS4.
Am I missing something? "Work seamlessly between Adobe apps" is starting to sound more than a marketing/sales pitch than an actual reality. I have tried export these images as EPS/AI to open in Illustrator CS4 - they don't come out correctly at all / gradients messed up / errors on open. So, no more 9-slice scaling objects if I want to export to tranparent PNG from the IDE?
If I put any text letter of any size at the top of the stage, lets say for example a "T" of 10 pts. Then move the timeline to frame 50 and insert a keyframe and then move that "T" down to the bottom of the stage and resize it to say 50 pts. (I want the effect of the letter growing as it moves down the stage).If I then isert a Motion Tween and scrub it the letter just stays at 10 pt until the keyframe at 50is hit and then it resizes to 50. Not the effect I am looking for.But if I use the classic tween then it does do what I want which is gradually grow from 10 pts to 50 pts by the bottom of the stage.
View 3 RepliesI know it is very easy. Right click> create motion tween> drag to where I would like the text/object to move. But, Sometimes it doesn't seem to work when I drag the text. It will work the first time and for the second text on the frame it won't work. What are the requirements of a motion tween when it comes to text on a single layer in the same frame.

Admittedly it isn't a major problem it's just a bit irritating especially when people I'm teaching to use Flash ask me why it looks the way it does.

So I am loading some very poorly built AS2 swfs into an AS3 file.I am able to open them and close them (addChild and removeChild)The problem I am now faced with is each of these AS2 swfs contain video using the AS2 FLVPlayback component. When I open the first SWF, the video plays fine, I close the SWF(removeChild). Then I go to open the next and the video will not play.
If I reload the page and open that second video first, it works.It seems when I watch a video for the first time no matter which AS2 swf I pick, it works. Its when I close it and open another one is when it doesn't work..
I'm having some trouble with getURL (I think). It works fine when I preview with Flash's html preview but it's not working on my server. It's pretty simple. [URL].selected1 is a user-defined variable pointing to a page: ie, when the user selects variable page1 the page to be opened is [URL]. Like I said, it works with Flash's preview, but not on my server(no 404 or any response). Does there seem to be a problem with my code or might I be overlooking a server error? Here's my code:

View 2 RepliesI am facing a problem in one of my animation with flash CS4 - I have nested a Shape Tween in a Motion tween to get more control over the easers and effects, unfortunately I am not able to view on the timeline of my Motion Tween the action of the Shape tween nested inside.
It only show the first shape of the Shape Tween during the entire Motion Tween and that is really a problem for me because I need to see the final frame result of that Shape tween to be able to position it in a precise way on my scene according to other instances.

I'm making a "master movie" for an assignment and I'm stuck right now. What I've got is an Intro page that will serve at the Parent.swf to load 4 other child swf's upon a mouse click. The problem is I have a theater stage where I tweened an animation to make it appear the curtain on the stage is going up but once it reaches it maximum height....the tween abruptly stops. I want it to HOLD there until a user clicks a button.

I'd like to have a flash document, that is placed on a webpage, BUT in the 'stage' there would be 4 or 5 pictures. a person would click on the picture they want, and it would then be shown in a preview area on the stage. There would also be a cpl input text fields, and when a person types something in this box then it would also be shown in the preview area.
View 9 RepliesI'm in the process of switching from AS 2.0 to AS 3.0, so apologies if this is really obvious.. I am modifying/updating an old template for a client and am inserting customized navigation buttons. One is a play/pause button and I was able to swap the old buttons for the new in the library and show them on the stage with no problems. When I export to swf to preview the movie, the new button just flashes repeatedly between the different "play" and "pause" states (up, over, etc).
I checked to make sure I didn't change any names of the buttons or movie clips. I tried inserting stop(); but it doesn't work...probably because I'm not putting it in the right spot. When I select the button, it has "up, over, down, hit" in the Timeline and says the selection can't have any actions applied to it.
Working in Flash CS4. When I publish my flash movie it opens fine on my computer but when I copy the folder with all the contents to another computer the skin show up fine but I get a white box where the movie should be. The same goes if we try to place it on a website.
When I'm in flash should I be going to
File Publish or
File Export SWF
To be placed in a website.
I don't really use Flash, but was just trying to put up a little video demo online.
Just dragged the video onto the canvas, published it as an .swf, but when I upload it all and visit the web page, the video clip / swf isn't displaying.
Its fine in the preview though.
