Professional :: Vector Shapes On Stage Are Sharp?
Feb 2, 2012I had something wrong in Flash Pro CS5, all vector shapes and text fields are too sharp and output is very good and smooth ( Normal ) !

View 2 Repliesneeding to alter the stage.scaleMode, but I have a video player with vector shapes that look pixelated when I go to full screen mode. The SWF is not rendering these vectors as bitmaps or anything. When I right click on the SWF in non-full screen mode and zoom in on sections of the SWF things are nice and crisp and vectory. Yet when I go full screen these crisp shapes seem pixelated.
View 3 RepliesI am using premium page flip in flash 8 to create an online publication. No matter how high the res. on the jpgs, they look distorted.
View 1 RepliesI need to import a bunch of vector work from Photoshop into Flash. Is there a trick to it. So far, on import, it's converting the layer styles into black.
View 5 RepliesI have been practicing on how to draw shapes on the stage with actionscript and it seems fun.
Code:
var rec:Sprite = new Sprite();
with (rec.graphics) {
beginFill(0xff23564,1);
[code]....
But now I was wondering how hard would it be to animate what you draw for instance how would you animate a simple line?
Code:
var rec:Sprite = new Sprite();
with (rec.graphics) {
lineStyle(0);
[code]....
I want to add multiple rectangles to the stage and manipulate them on an individual basis. Here is my code:
<code>
var rectangle:Shape = new Shape;
rectangle.name = "firstrectangle";
rectangle.graphics.beginFill(0xFF0000);
[Code].....
I get an error back that says firstrectangle and secondrectangle are undefined.
I am copying a bunch of shapes from my stage to a set of bitmaps for filtering.
Is there a faster way to do this? Is there a way to copy everything over together from the stage rather than how I'm doing it by copying the shapes in my array one by one?[code]...
I have a question about shapes (i mean the flash.display.Shape class). Is it possible to import Shapes directly from the library as Shapes and not as Sprites/MovieClips? Shapes are supposed to be faster than MovieClips/Sprites, right? So why is it only possible to import MCs/Sprites from the library? I understand that generally shapes could be created solely by actionscript, but in my case the shape comprises of many points and is curved - so it's quite infeasible.
Is there maybe some sort of plugin to generate code that would draw the desired shape from a drawn shape in CS4? And a last one: Are there any benchmarks out there for performance comparison between sprites/mcs/shapes? How much performance do i loose by using a sprite instead of a shape?
I have a flash website template, Fla File as well as all the source files etc, I have some questions if anyone would be kind enough to help. I am new to Fla files so not sure what to do.
There is some text I managed to edit ok, but others I could not, it appears as if they started as text and have been broken apart and made into a shape? when i click you can only highlight each letter, but not change them. There are two of these, one flies in from left, the other from right.
Flash has some serious problems with jagged edges on curved shapes. When adjusting a curve on a shape, flash shows that it is curved and then on releasing the mouse it turns into a sharp edge
View 1 RepliesSo Ive been working with Flash Pro CS5 and it seems I cant get the converting right with image formats into shape symbols. A couple days ago I did convert it correctly but now I cant remember how exactly I did it lol.
What Im trying to do is convert an image into a shape symbol then into a .gls format. When I import the working shape symbol in my SoThink Flash it would show up in the scene but now I cant recreate a working one as it would show up as a blank image.
Ive watched and read through some tutorials but Im confused on which order I should do the steps into converting an image into a symbol.
Btw.. if theres an easier way to convert an image into a .gls format I like to hear it as well
I literally saved the file as a swf etc and when I viewed it, there were massive random red shapes all over the dynamic areas completely ruining it.how these were formed as I changed nothing in the movie.

View 6 RepliesAny way to be able to export what is currently displayed on the flash swf stage to an vector-usable type file so I can edit in illustrator? I basically have a little actionscript animation that runs, and adds random movieclip shapes on the stage..... so i would like to be able to save what it outputs.
I keep hearing "postscript" a lot.
and i've also been able to save it as a PDF using the "print" function on the Adobe Flash Player, but a wierd thing, it doesn't export opacity information.
how can I select same color shapes in adobe flash program ? for example we assume 10 rectangle shapes. 3 of them are red others are green. I want to use only one click or method to select 3 of them.

View 2 RepliesI'm followed the tutorial from this website about the FLASH and XML files. First of all, good tutorial. But in the .swf I tried to make; my images are not sharp. I double checked the sharpness of the images in Photoshop, but the images are definitely sharp. So the problem is somewhere in Flash.

View 1 RepliesI'm getting
ActionScript Code:
1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type
__AS3__.vec:Vector.ie.aro.floorplanviewer.model.buildingVOs:ConfigurationVO>[code]....
which surprises me as ConfigurationVO inherits from NodeVO.Is the compiler really not able to figure out that a Vector of a superclass should be able to hold a reference to a Vector of a subclass?
convert my vector images to SWF files to play in Flash 9.0/AS3. Currently, all I can find is software to convert to AVMI Movie and I need AVM2.
View 1 RepliesI need to know how to create(convert) to vector text from text created from Text Tool from Flash CS4.
View 5 RepliesI have a problem with shape tweening. I have 2 base poses of a man throwing something, made in Illustrator. I imported them in Flash pro CS5.5 and split them. I want a tween morphing animation with these 2 poses. I set up the shape hints and the are all yellow in frame 1 and green in frame 65 (the second pose).
Now its animating very strange, I thought the points will corresponding with eachother, but the morph is quite ugly, all lines draw through eachother.You can see 2 screenshots of Flash and 2 screenshots from the movie I rendered in the files included.
I'm scaling down images loaded from as3 and I want them to stay sharp. They are scaled because I have a liquid layout which resizes a "body" movieclip that contains the images (loaded from xml).
I used code from here to scale bitmap, but I don't really understand it. [URL]
My biggest problem is that since the images are loaded as displayObjects rather than bitmaps, I need to know how to change the bitmapData of each displayObject.
Second problem is that I need the code the change the data, but not scale it down also(it is already scaled down). How do I do that?
Here is my attempt...
Code:
//code is executed when image is first loaded (I don't care if it is resized afterwards)
//thumb is the displayObject that is my image
[Code].....
I want to draw a sharp ( not antialiased ) and dotted line with AS3 [code]...
View 2 RepliesPlease view the location map animation I have done. I have one problem in this. The text is not looking good in the movie. I tryed with several fonts but the problem still exist.You can see the text written in the map.. and the 'open menu', 'close menu' buttons those are pixelated.url...

I am trying to improve the frame rate of a game that draws many floor tiles. Currently, the floor tiles are vector graphics and stored as different frames in a movie clip. I wanted to experiment with rasterizing a floor tile and seeing if that would provide any frame rate boosts. I did this by converting one of my tiles (one of the frames in my movie clip) to a png and replacing the vector version of this tile with this raster version. I then tested two worlds--one filled with tile A (vector) and another filled with tile B (png).
In all my tests, world with tile A (the original vector version) outperformed the world with tile B. I am guessing that the reason I am not getting the expected performance gains is because I am still rendering the tiles in the old style and not using any strict bitmap drawing calls?why it is that this method fails to boost rendering speed? Would I have to switch my rendering code to strict bitmap draw calls?
