I have been producing animation on my Mac using shape tweens and hints where necessaryUnfortunately when these files are then opened on one of my colleague's PCs the shape tweens appear broken as the hints have dissapeared. If the file is opened on another Mac this does not happen.I have yet to spend too much time focussing on testing the whys and wherefores of this problem, but wondered if this is a recognised issue or is a one off
why my key frames are disappearing when i turn my shape tween into a mask. I have shape tweened a mask ontop of a tree branch and all the frames are there as a plain shape tween, but when i turn that layer on as a mask the key frames go blank..
using the shape tool you can draw basic shapesthen using the subselection tool you can re-shape them by relocating certain points
What i want to do is create a tween whereby one of the points is movedthe problem is you have to convert to a symbol first and after you have done that you cant change the shapes shape.so how do i go about using a motion tween to change the shape of a shape?
ActionScript Code: package { import flash.display.MovieClip; public class Base extends MovieClip { public var baseHP:int = 50; var newRect:Shape = new Shape();
1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Shape. 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method Shape. What does it mean by "undefined method"? I am somewhat of a newby, so sorry if there are any stupid errors
Id like to know if there is a way to do a shape hitTest. Not as the normal hitTest would do, but shape colliding another shape, not the rectangleof a movieclip. It can be in a movieclip.
I am looking to create a slideshow with different shaped images and I wanted to create a boarder around the image which will expand and contract around any image even if it is out of sequence. I can't find an example online at the minute eventhough I have seen the effect several times but this link has a similar effect when looking at the photos...[URL]..
The bottom of the page moves up and down to accomodate the shape of the images. The difference is I want the whole image to be surrounded and the boarder to change vertically and horizontally.
I hope this is clear. Are there any tutorials I should look at? Is there a specific name for this effect which I could do a google search for a tutorial because I can't seem to find anything.
So I like the whole convert stroke to fill option in the Modify menu, but what if I want to apply a stroke to a fill?
In other words, if I created a circle, then delete the stroke, is there any way to the regenerate the stroke? I mean, if I press A I can see the contours of the fill - can I just turn that into a stroke? In the properties menu, if I click on stroke (which as its colour has the white box with a red diagonal line) it's all greyed out. Am I missing something obvious?
I'm creating an animation kinda like a travel map, x - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - x .where the x's equal the start and the end point, and the dashs are like your direction etc, a good example is if you've ever seen those pirate movies where they have the maps and it shows where they have to go.is if there is a better way to do it than I currently am (Still finding my way around the whole Animation thing - and I'm sure theres an easier way than this!)
At the moment I'm going frame by frame and in adding objects, so for example, in frame one I have my 'x' object, then frame two I pasted the 'x' object plus one 'dash' objects, and so on and so forth, and I have a feeling that doing this is going to take agessss, and I'm sure there must be an easier way! I essentially need the 'x' object to span across ALL of my frames, is there a command or something for this? I'm not too knowledgeable with tweening, but can it be done with that?
Experimenting with adding a square shape inside a rectangle, in the following code, the compiler bounced the error: "Call to a possibly undefined method addChild through a reference with static type flash.display:Shape".
I am trying to follow the exercises in the "Classroom In A Book" for Flash CS4 and I am having problems already on exercise 2. the problem is that I can not close the shape, whilst using the pen tool and anchor points. I have tried to make the anchor points extend further than the stage and then clicking on the first anchor point as the book suggests, however, a new line is drawn through the stage, to the first and last anchor point. The problem is I can not add the fill colour.
I'm trying to save a file that has several shape tweens. I create the tweens and preview the file and everything works perfectly. However, when I save it and reopen the file, the tweens are gone.
All I want to do is have a word start as a normal word, and then distort into a U shape, like the word is smiling. I've been googling and tutorialing and all I have come up with is breaking the word up and then using the distort tool, but it distorts every corner of every letter, isn't there a way to distort the whole word just a little? Also, when I "create shape tween" the text dissapears and when I "create motion tween" it needs to turn into a graphic so then I cant even use the distortion tool. What do I do?
I'm using shape tweens to morph one shape into another:While I enjoy some of the choices Flash makes for animating the transformations,I am wondering if you can control it in any way, or even have flash generate a different transformation. That demo shows about what I know, which amounts to: applying shape tweens for morphing; and motion tweens for 2d spinning, and basic movement from point A to point B.
I want to make a Shape Tween where a text of a small size increases in size. I followed a tutorial, and I did what it tells me: I put the starting text in the first frame, create a blank keyframe at the end where I put the bigger text, I then use the selection tool to right-click on both text objects in the video clip and select Break Apart which I do twice, and then I should be able to create a proper Shape Tween... but when I click on a random free and either right-click or go to Insert, Shape Tween is greyed out. How come? I also tried the other Tweens, but they don't do anything.
I draw a shape with the pen tool in Flash CS4. I made sure the shape was closed. But, I cannot fill the shape no matter what. Paint bucket tool does not work. Whatever I do, I get the red diagonal line on the fill color. I can fill a shape with the rectangle or oval tools but not the pen tool.
Very often I see on the web many flash websites very amazing for their animation in flash. For example, in monster template you can see the paper's animation like that: http:[url].... Watch the BEST DESIGN STUDIO animation... These animations aren't made with flash, but with a software from which to export a swf file that contains a sequence of shapes. What is it? It seems to work in 3d, but the objects moved are always planes and not 3d models.
When using the bone tool, I have been fairly successful in working with either a shape or a selection of symbols. However, I am unable to connect a shape to a symbol. Is this possible with the bone tool or am I barking up the wrong tree? If not, is there some sort of work-around when part of the animation is constructed from symbols and part is constructed from shapes?
I am trying to make a ball move, it's all perfect apart from this: Statement must appear within on/onClipEvent handler = ( isJumping) = false;) Then I put in "on", then it says: Unexpected 'on' encountered.
I am working on a text design appication in which i have to design the different type of text style with action script 2.0. I have achived most of them, but there are some word art type of design of the text.Following is the image of the shape required.
I am adding rectangles dynamically and have first added them to movie clips so that they can receive mouse events. But I am having trouble accessing their position on stage. If I set the position of the movie clip that contains them, the x coordinate returned is always 0.Is there a way to get the position of the shape and/or movie clip container.
I want to shape tween multiple objects on the same layer. When they are placed independently from each other all the time on the canvas, I have no problem to make them morph into the other shapes in the ending keyframe.
However, when some of the objects are crossing each other in either the starting or ending keyframe, they don't morph smoothly but quite funnily. Funny phases are nested between the intended starting and ending tages.
See the images below. What should I do to prevent this?
