I am trying to follow the exercises in the "Classroom In A Book" for Flash CS4 and I am having problems already on exercise 2. the problem is that I can not close the shape, whilst using the pen tool and anchor points. I have tried to make the anchor points extend further than the stage and then clicking on the first anchor point as the book suggests, however, a new line is drawn through the stage, to the first and last anchor point. The problem is I can not add the fill colour.
using the shape tool you can draw basic shapesthen using the subselection tool you can re-shape them by relocating certain points
What i want to do is create a tween whereby one of the points is movedthe problem is you have to convert to a symbol first and after you have done that you cant change the shapes shape.so how do i go about using a motion tween to change the shape of a shape?
I have a bug in my Flash cs3. After I close the program, it is still running.What I mean is, if I check task manager (Ctrl, Alt, del) Flash.exe is still running. Also, I can no longer re-open Flash unless I end the process in task manager first.
I have rendered out a FLV with alpha enabled and using wmode options correctly, i am able to get my flash content embed on top of my pages, over the content.
1) I need the embedded flash content to have a close button, otherwise what i am seeing is a flash movie playing on without an option to close. Tried a button with on (release){getURL("java script:window.opener=self;self.close();");}
Is it that I have to place the FLV (alpha enabled) within a movieclip? and add a button there?
2) Also I need to start this content in the webpage using a mouse over over a button.
In the new Flash CS5 Actionscript editor, there's a bug with the auto close bracket. If I have an existing pair of brackets, when I hit the Return key in the same line as the opening bracket, the editor automatically inserts a closing bracket even when it is not needed. However if I press Return on the line after the bracket, it will not close the bracket. I don't seem to experience this in Flash Builder. One possible way is to disable the auto close bracket option but I find the auto close bracket is useful despite the slight annoyance mentioned above. I expect the editor would be able to detect if there's already a closing bracket and not insert a new one.
This is my first attempt to build a flash light box and it isn't working so well. What are some the easiest tips to adding effects to improve the visitors experience?
I'm trying to create a webpage that will close itself when an mp3 audio file finishes playing. Right now I'm trying to do this simply by playing the mp3 from a keyframe in the timeline as an event. On the timeline I've placed a blank keyframe with an ActionScript attached to it that looks like this:
import flash.external.ExternalInterfaceExternalInterface.call("closeWindow");stop(); The HTML page that embeds the Flash running the mp3 has a Javascript function called closeWindow that looks like this:
I have an HD video that I shot of curtains or drapes opening and closing. I would like to make something in Flash where someone could click one side of the curtain and pull it open. When they release the mouse it should close back. In the video both sides open at the same time so I'm not sure if I can make the sides independent or not. If I can do this I may also want to make a version where the curtain stays where they released it.After I make a web version I am going to try to turn it into an app for a smart phone. The online use with a mouse is way more important at this time.
I am very new to Flash and actually our graphic designer created this small flash timeline here:[URL]..For some reason when I test it in Firefox the Close button and the links do not work. Also I know of one person who has the same issue in IE. Most others using IE have no problem what so ever. The actionscript for the close button is:
I am an extreme novice in Flash and I've built a drop down menu following a tutorial from YouTube - sadly this took me days! It functions BUT fast mouse movement away from the menu drop down seems to prevent the drop down menu from closing. Does anyone know of a fix for this?
Second question - I know how to create text links but when I do this the text's position jumps down without me having told it to. So is there a way to apply a link to a button rather than the text in the button, and is it possible to also apply a link to a movie clip?[URL]...
When I double click to close the selection, the marquee vanishes instead of closing the selection. Yes, I double click on the starting point.Here's what the manual proclaims (step 4): Draw a straight-edged selection area1 Select the Lasso tools Polygon Mode modifier in the options area of the Tools panel.2 Click to set the starting point.3 Position the pointer where you want the first line to end, and click. Continue setting end points for additional line segments.4 To close the selection area, double-click.
I'm trying to save a file that has several shape tweens. I create the tweens and preview the file and everything works perfectly. However, when I save it and reopen the file, the tweens are gone.
All I want to do is have a word start as a normal word, and then distort into a U shape, like the word is smiling. I've been googling and tutorialing and all I have come up with is breaking the word up and then using the distort tool, but it distorts every corner of every letter, isn't there a way to distort the whole word just a little? Also, when I "create shape tween" the text dissapears and when I "create motion tween" it needs to turn into a graphic so then I cant even use the distortion tool. What do I do?
I'm using shape tweens to morph one shape into another:While I enjoy some of the choices Flash makes for animating the transformations,I am wondering if you can control it in any way, or even have flash generate a different transformation.That demo shows about what I know, which amounts to: applying shape tweens for morphing; and motion tweens for 2d spinning, and basic movement from point A to point B.
I want to make a Shape Tween where a text of a small size increases in size. I followed a tutorial, and I did what it tells me: I put the starting text in the first frame, create a blank keyframe at the end where I put the bigger text, I then use the selection tool to right-click on both text objects in the video clip and select Break Apart which I do twice, and then I should be able to create a proper Shape Tween... but when I click on a random free and either right-click or go to Insert, Shape Tween is greyed out. How come? I also tried the other Tweens, but they don't do anything.
ActionScript Code: package { import flash.display.MovieClip; public class Base extends MovieClip { public var baseHP:int = 50; var newRect:Shape = new Shape();
1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Shape. 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method Shape. What does it mean by "undefined method"? I am somewhat of a newby, so sorry if there are any stupid errors
Has any one experienced a crash when using "test movie" in Flash CS4 on Windows 7?For me, it started when I began working on an Actionscript 2.0 project. It happens every time I test a movie, then minimize the window.I have tried re-installing Flash, but the problem still remains. The weird thing is, it waits until I minimize the window. No other time.
Test movie --> Close it --> Minimize Flash --> Wait a second or two --> Crash
I draw a shape with the pen tool in Flash CS4. I made sure the shape was closed. But, I cannot fill the shape no matter what. Paint bucket tool does not work. Whatever I do, I get the red diagonal line on the fill color. I can fill a shape with the rectangle or oval tools but not the pen tool.
Very often I see on the web many flash websites very amazing for their animation in flash. For example, in monster template you can see the paper's animation like that: http:[url].... Watch the BEST DESIGN STUDIO animation... These animations aren't made with flash, but with a software from which to export a swf file that contains a sequence of shapes.What is it? It seems to work in 3d, but the objects moved are always planes and not 3d models.
When using the bone tool, I have been fairly successful in working with either a shape or a selection of symbols. However, I am unable to connect a shape to a symbol. Is this possible with the bone tool or am I barking up the wrong tree? If not, is there some sort of work-around when part of the animation is constructed from symbols and part is constructed from shapes?
I am trying to make a ball move, it's all perfect apart from this: Statement must appear within on/onClipEvent handler = ( isJumping) = false;) Then I put in "on", then it says: Unexpected 'on' encountered.
I am working on a text design appication in which i have to design the different type of text style with action script 2.0. I have achived most of them, but there are some word art type of design of the text.Following is the image of the shape required.
