I have been trying to adjust the size using the jpeg quality slider, but it doesn't seem to function whether I set it to 0 or 100 or anywhere in between. I know how to create the slideshow, I'm just not sure how to maximize the quality and keep the file small. The original was created as a .wmv and then converted to .flv. I have heard that creating the slideshow in flash using vector images is the way to get the best quality. So, my questions are:
1. How do I convert a jpeg to a vector image? Can I do this in photoshop?
2. How do I convert the .swf file to .flv without losing quality?

View 2 Repliesi want to create a slider that controls 2 images and when you move the slider to half 50% it will have to show 50% of one image and 50% of another image . when i'm at 70% i want to show 70% of one image 30 of the other.the problem is that i coudn't find a way to show just half of image , i don't want to move the image to the left and animate it , simply i want to cut the image in half.

The problem I have is that when you click and drag the scroller it will move the images once but after that the images will not move. I am guessing that the problem is with my code. I'm trying to create a flash program that uses it's own code to send and create images. Each square has a colour and that colour gets added into the array. A black, then grey, then white is:
filecode = ["Bl", "Gr", "Wh"];
That works fine, but when I try to paste it into an Input text box it will only fill in the first part of the array.
filecode = ["Bl,Gr,Wh"];
So the program has NO idea what I want.The only ways I can think of fixing this is by putting in 402 text boxes to suit every box...But every one of them needs a Variable Name.Or by sending the information straight into the array. But this way you are just looking at what you just drew, and that is not at ALL practical.
I want to create a slideshow of 5 images, with black fade effect in between. So from black to image to black to the next image and so on. Then it stops on the last image. I dont want any buttons or any interactions.

I have two images on my flash stage (A camera image and a scenery image) The idea is that the camera is in front of the scenery. The problem is although both images are on my stage the camera is completely transparent and looks wrong . How can I set the cannon image transparency so that it is a solid image on top of the background image.

I have a combo-box on the stage with a few items in the combo-box and also have corresponding JPEG/PNG image files. I need to display the appropriate image onto the stage based on the selection of the item in the combo-box. So, please I need ActionScript code or procedure to handle this using Event-Handling mechanism of MouseEvent.

To load an external swf into my movie. That external swf is a 'loader' for some JPEG images.
The external swf (filename1.swf) contains four empty movie clips, and this code

The idea here is that (filename1.swf) can be placed in any directory with images bearing those names, then be called upon to display the images in that directory into my flash page. The problem is that it doesn't load the images. I am sure it is because it doesn't know what container to load them into, because of the nesting. But I don't know what location to use.

I do have a problem to make jpeg images random in a swf movie.
I have found a tutorial which explains people to apple a single line of code:
imagenes_mc.loadMovie("ima00" + (1+random(5)) + ".jpg");
to the first frame of the movie which contains an empty mc "imagenes_mc" which should load a diferent JPEG each time someone gets into the website.
Thing is: ON my published swf nothing happens with that code and on the output windown i get "1120: Acess of undefined property mages_mc" and also "1180: Call to a possible undefined method random"

I've used Flash before to create animations but it has been a long time. I've been asked to create a very simple animation using two images, one of a broken PC and one of a fixed PC. I want the broken PC to come in from the left and then fade into the fixed image of the PC which will be centred. I know this is very very simple but I can not for the life of me remember how to do animation, motion tweening etc. I have the two images and I've tried importing them, converting them to movie symbols etc but it doesn't go to plan. The animation needs to be between 1 - 3 seconds long at 12 fps. The document size is 550 x 400, standard I believe. I am using Macromedia Flash 8 Professional.
View 3 RepliesI have created drawings in Adobe Flash and saved them as .fla files. However, when I try to save the files as JPEGs beyond a certain resolution (such as 4000x4000 pixels), the image gets altered. Essentially, it get's cropped, but some background is left in the remaining pixels.

I have an AS3 swf which users can upload jpg images to my EC2 instances which sit behind and Elastic Load Balancer. The jpg images are converted into bytearray data and sent using URLLoader.load(URLRequest)I make 2 calls when uploading, one to upload a large version, then another to upload a thumbnail version. A PHP script to which the bytearray data is uploaded converts this to a file using file_put_contents($destination,$GLOBALS["HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA"])Is it possible to combine these two requests into a single request which contains both the bytearray data for the large and thumbnail images and 'split' the HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA to create 2 files at the server. This would be better than uploading the bytearray for the large version then using something like ImageMagick to resize the resulting image into a thumbnail which I realise is another option.

Anyway I'm trying to make a flash where you can cycle through images using a slider bar. They are images of a persons face from 13 angles starting from looking 90 degress left, to center, to 90 degrees right. I want to be able to rotate the face using the slider. What I'm trying to do is similar to another thread I was reading(though not exactly the same goal) so I took the code from there just to start myself off. Currently when I test the movie the face is moving back and forth(in loop play) and the slider bar does not interact with the images/frames at all. This is the code I have in Layer 1 Frame 1. I'm aware this code might be completely wrong for what I want to do since I pulled it from someone elses project.
