Professional :: Label Text Wont Change Correctly?

I usually program with C#, PHP, html etc.trying to learn Adobe Flash now so i downloaded the trial version which has 30 days trial.tried to create and follow the tutor for click ball which all of the code is the same but it doesnt work.
I triple check the code and its all right but it still not working.so i commented out all of the code and has a simple code of changing the text of the label.i set the text to "abcdefg" and but it only show "cdef".i expanded the width of the label so width is not the issue. trying to search for the limitation of the trial but i dont see any.trying to test this before i buy it.it does change but not changing correctly.i try to set to another value it always show partially only.

I want to make some buttons and use the buttons.fla library. The button is inserted and given an instance name. A second button is inserted (same kind) and given a new instance name. But when I am trying to change the label text in one of my buttons the text is changing on the other button as well. I believed they where separate instances?

i have created a group in run time and then added in it two buttons and one label

now when i click on one button 2 i can get event.currentTarget.

Is it possible to change a frame label within a gotoAndStop('label') with the parameters in a function?I'm playing around with updating code as I learn more and more techniques, and at the moment the code is a basic click-a-button to select the object shape, and on press the button disappears:

I recently hired a programmer to design a flash health calculator for my website. It works great and text shows up correctly when viewing online and standalone. The problem starts when I try to edit the file. I wanted to change some text in an action layer. That seems to work out fine but when I try to publish I get garbled text.
I should also mention that when loading the file I get a Font Mapping dialog box stating "The document 'x' contains one or more fonts not available on your system. The text will display and publish with the font mapping below:". I have tried to select various fonts in this dialog box but still get garbled text.
When I publish I also get this on the Output box: "Fonts should be embedded for any text that may be edited at runtime, other than text with the "Use Device Fonts" setting. Use the Text > Font Embedding command to embed fonts."

When I set style color, it changes both the text color for the selected item/component label and the text in the dropdown menu.

I am observing a problem with how an embedded font is applied to certain Flex components, namely mx:Label and mx:DataGrid. I have a CSS that declares three variations on an embedded font as follows:

(I've snipped some stuff from both style rules, so if you think there's something that may be causing a conflict I can certainly post the entire definition. It's mostly color, line and padding stuff for the DataGrid.)
The problem that is for both Label and cells in the DataGrid the text is being rendered as sort of a times new roman font. The headers in the DataGrid are fine, just the text in the cells is wonky. All other components use the correct font as defined in the CSS/SWF.

I downloaded a XML based website flash template and made some modifications to it. With this template there was few fonts included in separate folder (I had to install them to view swf and edit fla correctly) after all my mods done I published it to swf file and opened local file with browser, everything was working perfectly at this moment. Then I asked my friend if it could upload it on his server to check if this website looks the same on the web. I noticed that text (which is written with custom font that was included) is either missing or misplaced

I'm edit a flash file that uses about 11 different fonts. When I toss it into the editor and publish it some characters are missing from the product, such as W's and M's. I've installed the fonts that were included with the flash file into windows7.

I've got some sentences I need to put in a ComboBox as selections. They are much too long for the width of the box on the page. Is there a way to wrap the text in the ComboBox? I'm wondering if I need to put the text into a jpg or something and use that as the label.

I am having a big of trouble with this code to change frames on my timeline. I thought my code below would work fine but its not. For some reason it will go to frames 1-4 (4 is the last frame) then it will go back to 1 again just fine as its supposed to... but then will jump to 3 then back to 1... all random instead of staying in sync. I have attached both my as2 version and my as3 version. My as 2 is working perfectly. I can define the amount of time a frame will pause for on each frame.

I have the following problem: I use that script to rotate a arrow. from 0 to 90 Degrees.But with this script I can the arrow only between 0 and 90 degrees can rotate when the mouse hovers over it in this area. how can I change the order of the arrow is aligned correctly when I do with the mouse only the corresponding circular movement no matter where it is located on the Flash Programm?

I have a component with 2 states and I have added transitions for switching between the states, where 2 Move affects are applied to 2 different objects. This all works fine, however, after the transition from the first state to the second has completed the second state doesn not render correctly. It contains a TextInput control which is not visible, and a Button with a custom skin that is only sometimes visible and vanishes if you click on it. I have tried called invalidateDisplayList() and validateNow() after loading the second state but that has done nothing. I also have a VBox with a cornerRadius property set, strangely this does not seem to apply anymore and the corners are square, where they displayed correctly before I added the transition in.Here is the code for my states and their transitions:

So in Illustrator you can "Find Font" in your document so you can pinpoint and change or delete text using that said particular font.In Flash I have a piece of text using an old font somewhere in my FLA (I've updated with a new one for all text since) and I'd like to locate it and either delete it or replace it with the font I'd like to use. When I open the file it prompts me in regards to me not having this old font any longer (the font I'd like to remove) and I tell it each time to use the newer font

When I click the type tool and drag a text box out and type a couple words at 235pt size it looks fine. as soon as I click off the text box, the text size jumps down. I have no idea why this is happening and I can't get it to stay. When I click the type tool on the box again the tet appears at the 235pt size. But when I click off of it and play the movie it is at the incorrect size.

i create a form for order a item in flex. i use <mx:TextInput /> for getting the information from client and use a <mx:Button /> for submit the information in database. But client requirements is when user click on button then first show a confirmation page with details information that client give. But can't use another page or <mx:TextInput /> in this confirmation page, it will be <mx:Label />. After show the confirmation page if clients click on Button then submit the info. I am loading a small scrolling text box dynamically from a .txt doc in the same folder, but I can't find anything about changing the font properties. No matter what changes I make to the code, the font stays size 12, times new roman, black. I want to change all three of these properties, but most of the related forum posts I have found are about changing the font for a given sentence, manually input into the AS. I need flash to list all font in the text file as Arial, 13, and white in color.This is being set up so members of managment can update news without needing flash to do so, so they obviously can't type everything into the AS.

In a movie clip, I have several frame labels applied. The type of label is set to Name, which is the default. I want to change some of them to Anchor (to use as named anchors with fscommand), but the Type drop-down list is grayed out. Anyone know why? I can't find any info on named anchors, not even in the Help. Yes I know that anchors don't work everywhere, but this is for a specific client.
