View 1 Repliesi want to find a easy tool to make a small flash
View 1 Repliesim following some suggestions to cut my flash website into a few sections to make preloading a bit easier.
so all i want is to make a small round ring rotate as long as the file is loading. so i looked and followed a lot tutorials but all the preloaders tutorials are much more compliceted then i need. they all have persentige sowing, and a bar that is filling according to how much the file has loaded, and colors changing etc. so i tried to take from the tutorials wat i need for my simple preloader to work but i get stuck.i built the animation of the rotating ring, but i get stuck with the actions i need to make the animation work as long as the file is working. i called my ring animation "circularloader". here is a image of the page with the ring:
I have a pure Actionscript 3 project, using flash.* libraries, compiles down to about 6k (using mxmlc). Program handles about 1k shapes, a few sprites, a sockets connection, works great (tastes less filling).
Now, how would I add a ComboBox control without incurring excessive bloat?[code]...
I've recently began learning flash after extensive training with photoshop. Anyway, I have created a forum signature, in photoshop. I want to add a small background video into it using flash. I was wondering how I can insert a video into an image in flash. If this is even possible.
View 3 RepliesI posted to the flash forum but really looking for feedback from flash, flex, AIR users as well.I'm looking for the forums thoughts and advice on which of Adobe's current technology set (CS5) is best suited for creating small interactive applications/packages by users who would not have any background in coding and very little interest in learning coding.
The idea is that users would know basic drag & drop development and maybe extend it to include some basic scripting to wire up elements of it. The ability to develope applications for a range of access points (website, mobile, desktop) would also an added benefit.The over arching idea would be to let the users create some apps/programmes/packages quickly on any topic they like but not bog them down with coding.Which CS5 technologies would be best for that
I have started this animation and I am turning rain drops into movie clips with a small splash animation in the clip. I can just copy and paste them so I won't have to animate each one or do programming. When I test this with the swf file they turn out fine. But when I try to export this into a jpeg/png,or avi the full animation in the movie clip doesn't work. It just shows the first frame. Is there a way to make this work since I would really like the single jgep files or avi since I need to transfer this to other programs. I thought there was a way to do this but I cannot remember or I don't know if they changed it with cs4 XD.
View 4 RepliesI have recently launched a site for a client which includes an interactive flash element on the home page but it takes a long time to load (10-30seconds). I have followed advice from others about keeping image small and link movies rather than embed but still slow, the swf file is about 7.9mb which i thought was ok for the size of flash file. Does anyway else know where I have gone wrong whether it be the embedding or some other area.
View 5 RepliesI have a flex project and if I build a release version of the application using flash builder with RSLs on my swf is 115k. If however I build the same application using ant the swf is 342k. Without RSLs the swf is 520k.
How do I get the swf to be as small as the one built by FlashBuilder?
Here is my ant file I have another task that copies the rsls.

I am using a logo in .png form. I would like to have the logo very small at first and then get bigger frame by frame as it goes down the timeline. I created a keyframe on frame 1 and then another keyframe on frame 40. I then made the logo on frame 1 a small size, and I have the logo on frame 40 a large size. I am not sure how to tween them to produce the effect. It won't let me select the "shape" tween. I tried "classic" tween and motion tween (makes you convert to symbols), but no dice.
View 8 RepliesI'm work with PS and AI and am a begginer with Flash and currently I'm making this clean cool looking header for a server I play on. This is what it to looks like: [URL]. However I don't know how to make the small squares motion, I want them to "spawn" around the text with alpha slowly growing, not behind the text so it's clean and to move outwards and slowly disappear.
View 2 RepliesI've bee following this site for a long time, and now I finally got a question on my own.
I'm trying (by ActionScript) to make a bunch of small circles form a complex shape e.g. a star or a windmill.
I'm planning to draw on circle and draw it to bitmap date, but I don't know how to place a lot of circles in the shape of a complex shape (or how to transform them into another complex shape).
[URL] I'm trying to make a small realtime game using sockets but some packets simply get lost (Wireshark says they arrive properly!)
View 1 RepliesOk I'm trying to make a small thing on a website that will allow the user to update the news themselves.... after reading up on it i found that to export a textfile in this way I would have to have a serverside script to execute it for me (PHP in my case)... I did it, but it isnt working..
View 14 Repliesi sort of asked this before but never got a clear responce to it. this is sort of a two part question. one i have a dynamic gallery of images with a small picture that you click on that loads a bigger picture. I would love to be able to just have one photo that loads into the bigger mc and also the small mc. right now what i am doing is making two size photos a small 47x47 and a large141x141. does anyone know how i can use the same photo for both mc's second question. if that works will it make the small photos take forever to load since their sorce is a large photo?
View 5 RepliesIs it possible to test or export only a small selection of a movie?
View 2 RepliesI'm using AS 2.0.I have big MC(circle - vector). It's not perfect circle because of Flash.On this circle I have some mc's (small circles - bitmaps) --> I'm using attachMovie on Big circle. I'm rotating with big circle by 45 degrees.Sometimes I have to delete small circle and create another one at the same location. But after rebuild the position of new small circle is a little bit changed[mm].It's visible and I'm very disappointed. It happens even the rotation is 0.
View 6 RepliesI'm not creating a application to create a business card. I'm creating a static design which I'll probably export as an image and take to a printer. I just feel most comfortable using Flash for this at this point.The design looks good in Flash CS5 but when I export it, it's too small.I measured a physical card as 87mm x 49mm so I made the stage that size, using millimeters.
I exported the design as a PNG, printed it, and it comes out as 66mm x 37mm - the correct proportions but it's about 75% of the size I want! I tried publishing the design and opened the HTML in a browser but it still comes out looking small.
Using AS 3.0 and the action script project I was planning on writting a small file handeling utility to make processing files through AS better and easier. The problem is the API states that to call file you go
import flash.file
Well in flashbuilder going import flash. only gives me filter, and no file handeling imports....
I have been trying to make a score counter for a small game where the user clicks on a button on the stage, each time the user presses the button the score increments by 10, however I cannot get the score to display on the dynamic text field.
var score:uint;
//scoreCounter is the instance name of the dynamic text box
function updateScore():void{
score += 10;
scoreCounter.text = score.toString();
}
I created a flash video with interactive menus using Encore.The .swf file played fine from my laptop computer.I copied the .swf file and its associated files to a micro SD card and tried to play it from a Samsung Galaxy Tab (7 inch tablet, Wifi only version) but it would not play.I searched the web and it appears that the Galaxy Tab will play flash videos off the web, but will not play them off-line (that is, stored on the device locally). I want to preserve the interactive menus.My goal is to be able to play videos with menus, off a small 7" tablet with a bright and contrasty display Overall, I liked to Samsung Galaxy Tab, but I returned it when I could not figure out how to play .swf videos stored on its local memory.
View 2 RepliesI need to first express that I'm a fully self-taught Flash designer. No one has ever sat down and tried to explain to me the DOs and DONTs about Flash. I have followed tutorials, books, and anything else I can get my hands on, but never a person. People of Flash seem to be very hard to find, in my personal experience.I am the most comfortable with Photoshop, knowing very little about Illustrator or Fireworks.That said, I have been asked to create a 45KB (yikes!) max file, rotating 3 .jpg images I created from other .jpgs given to me. The images are usually large, so I am given room to compress them for a 300px x 250 px stage.
However, these images are always my biggest culprit for my huge file size. I'll import them in, making them into Graphic Symbols, but nothing seems to prevent the enourmous file size.When given the raw images, I would throw them into Photoshop, make the files the correct 300x250 size. Then I have tried: saving the image at the best resolution in .jpg and .png form, and then I tried saving the images as low-as-I-could-stomach quality. I hardly see a difference with file size when they are imported into Flash and used.I was told to use Fireworks's Optimize function, which I did, but it made my .swf even biggerWhen I have my Flash piece all set up/animted as I want, but I need to replace the bitmap(.jpg/.png) photos, I will:right click on the bitmap to get properties, "upload" the new image to be used, adjust the Quality, having "Allow smoothing" unclicked.
I understand I should make as much of the graphics in Flash as I can, instead of Import, but I am primarily given photographs to use.Seeing what my previous peers have done is mind-puzzling, but they are not around, so I cannot ask them for their advice. Their files are under 45KB and look sharp and amazing:[URL]
i've got a pretty small (in my opinion) usage of motion tween on the following site: [URL]
the circles are moving around and rotating.. not that big of a deal compared to many much more flash intensive websites that i've seen.
on a few computers i've viewed the website on, this page slows down the rest of the computer, the circles move real choppy, etc so it's very taxing on the computer/processor. making this a less intense flash tween? is it something that i'm overlooking or is what my flash file is doing truly that difficult for a computer/browser to process?
I am pulling external images, I have my main image, and five small images, I have that to make the small images when click to appear in the place of the main image, but I am not obtaining to make they to click, I am placing my archive who to want to make download
View 2 Repliesin Flash CS4 I have static text like: Line1 and line2 It's in 9 point Arial Regular as a device font. If I set the line spacing below 3.9 the second line dissappears from the compiled SWF file. It still shows in the FLA file. The same thing happens at 6pt but NOT at 5pt or less.
View 1 Replieswhen the mouse rolls over an image, text appears (in a small rectangle) and it moves with the mouse, only while it is still over the image.
Or at least, does anyone know what this is called or how to do it?
I have built a catalog in flash that was orginally built in InDesign and exported but it has some small content that is hard to read for the elderly users viewing it and I would like to add a zoom feature or some type of magnifying glass.
View 1 RepliesI need to export a 60 animation from flash. It has text and image animation on the timeline, no actionscript. The swf file when published is 5 mb. When I export as an .mov, it is 768 mb. Also, there is some jumping and stuttering.
View 1 RepliesI have made a small rectangle in the flash with the tweening effect and export in to the FLEX. When i publish in the FLEX i could see the rectangle with out tweening effects.How can i see the tweening effects.
View 1 Repliesflash and working on two flash files for a website. They are small, 2.20KB and 4.10 KB. I am testing them on localhost and notice the object creates a box and an icon on the screen for both of them before they load and appear
View 3 RepliesI have made a total flash site but the exported site is 50 mb!! Not a usable size, so I want to know how to make this site 'smaller'. there are a ton of flash sites on the www, so I must do something wrong.. What is the normal file-size for a flash site?
