Professional :: Putting Action Onto Imported Image?
Aug 6, 2009
I'm trying to create a countdown timer for my website. I have written a code in ActionScript 2.0 that is working but I have a background that I created in Illustrator onto which I want to embed the timer. So, I have the image and on top of that image is where I would like the numbers to countdown, if that makes any sense?
I've posted the image I am talking about. The bottom half (the box at the bottom) is where I want to put the numbers counting down using Flash.
Is there a specific format that I need to have the imported image in since I have tried jpg, gif, bitmap and none of these allow me to put an action onto it?
So this is the image i want to add bones to so i can animate it... but any way i convert or anything i still cant add the bone,, the bone just dissapears when i drag it.
I'm importing my images dynamically into an online portfolio. I'd like to have some text/areas on the imported images be linked to outside websites, or link to other areas of my site.If this is possible, how does one code it; or are there any tutorials anyone knows of that I could check out?
I have a .png image of all 44 US presidents, I'm trying to figure out how I could break it apart so that each president can be clicked on. I'm a fairly experienced actionscript programmer, have done some game development work in the developer role but never in the design/UI role, thus I'm not great (or even good!) at some of the beginner stuff regarding UI. I was thinking I could use the lasso tool to select an area, then somehow make that selection into a grapic or movie clip symbol, but I can't seem to get that to work and I'm wasting a lot of time experimenting!
I'm having a problem with importing a layered PSD file into Flash, an issue which i've read about in a number of forums but haven't yet been able to fix.
The content of the PSD file in question is numerous layers of line drawing which I am importing to the Stage and converting to keyframes in Flash. The layers have no white background and are clear but for the lines of drawing.
The problem I'm having is that the first layer of the PSD file imports perfectly, with its quality intact, but all those which follow it are distorted and jagged, and look pretty awful for some reason.
I have experimented with both lossy (set at 100) and lossless compressions to try and improve the layer quality, lossless is marginally better but not the best.
For some reason the squares of color that are supposed to load behind the image that acts as a mask load first, momentarily showing while the image loads, which looks bad. Hre is the code:
[Code]....
I have experimented with adding the square child elsewhere (such as in the code where it is created twice), but that proves even more disastrous.
I am doing some research on creating clcikTags. I read a few places that the clcikTag should be on the top layer. That has been fine, but now I want to loop it and I usually put my actions in the top layer. Will this cause a problem? Am I better off just putting my loop action on the last key frame of the clcikTag layer?
I am in the process of creating an info box Object, which displays one of the five organizational informations, dynamically on the user's choice. All the code is in the associated Class.
I am stuck with one issue. It requires to add an image (from a set of 5 small images) on the top-left corner of the movie; appropriate to the contents. I don't know, how to put the image dynamically.
its possible to put a image or movieclip in perspective via actionscript? Im want to build some 3D stuff and would like to incorperate images in it, but i havent got a clue on how to do this.
I have a dynamic text box that reads data from an external file using the htmlText and load() functions. My external file contains HTML code for images. I want to have each image displayed next to each other (side by side). Currently, Flash is rendering my images so they are stacking on each other (ontop of each other). I have even tried putting all of my <a> tag on one line, but it is not working.
ActionScript 2 Code from file: contentData = new LoadVars() contentData.onLoad = function() { contentText.htmlText = this.myVariable } contentData.load("html/news.txt") contentText.html: [Code]......
I'm a beginner at actionscript, as well, but I'm humble and more than willing to be schooled..I have what I hope is an easy question to answer. It is a pretty basic image scroller that has a series of images scrolling across the screen in an infinite loop. Direction is controlled by mouse position (extreme left or right), and it will stop when the mouse is positioned over an image in the center area. Here's the code:
var myVar:Boolean; this.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onEnterFrame); function onEnterFrame(e:Event) :void
i am new to flash and AS and I have created a custom image gallery, where thumbnails appear on the left of my page and once clicked they fade into he screen.however i have so many images that they do not all show on the page, and take up the entire left hand side - i would like to know how i could edit my code so that all the thumbnails (that are loaded from a .xml file) can be put into a scroller box.I would also like to add a function so that the image would close on mouse click of the bigger picture OR when a "close" button is clicked
I'm making a presentation in Flash that needs to be put on a DVD, which we will given to people in my organization to view at home. The presentation will not contain any interactivity. It will have text, music, video, and narration.
The videos will be short and contain sound, should I embed them in the fla file? I planned to break the presentation into scenes to make it easier to manage, and so they'll just play one after another. My computer can burn DVDs, so I was just going to export the swf to DVDS.
once I have created a flash movie, how do I put that movie on another web pageI am constructing using html and css?I only want the flash movie to occupy a an area of 770px width and 75px height and I have already created the div id=""and formatted in css. I just need to put the flash movie in this section.
I'm using Flash CS4, as3 and adobe air file. I have an application with 3 scenes, first scene to login, second to set up, and third to see an video. The problem is that, when I put a component in the second or third scene, if a change any property in the component inspector, any property it gives me error. So put the component and I change property by code in as3. But I'm doing things with FLVPlayback component, and now before enter the scene gives me error, the solution will be to get the original properties, but I don't remember, I could install other time Flash CS4, but I can do that for any component, better know the solution.
For example, I have an as file who is the class named p.e. MyMainclass, and in the scene3, I put FLVPlayback, who default values it's the last I used (I don't remember default after installation), if any code in as3, it gives me this error:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at com.program::MyMainClass/__setProp___id2__scene3_myvideo1_1() [com.pro gram.MyMainClass::__setProp___id2__scene3_myvideo1_1:7]
I remove this component, I put another one I never used, it doesn't give me error, I change any property in the object inspector, p.e. color, it gives me error, I change to original property again, and then No Error.
I'm trying to make a very simple game in Flash. I have a map where you can see only the borders of the states. I want to make every state a symbol. Can I somehow fill it with different colors? Using paint bucket doesn't work...
Is there a way to get the height and width of an image that was loaded via an xml file? I am making an Image Viewer and I want the display to resize to the dimensions of the image loaded.
I've had this annoying problem since CS1 and persists through CS3. If i import an image (either to stage or to library then placed on stage) the pixel size reported in the properties box is smaller by a very small amount. For example, I just dropped a 1005x650 PNG on the stage. The properties box shows this as w[1004.8] h[649.9]. The file is 72ppi in photoshop. Zooming in confirms that the image is shrunk slightly. In this case, the image was same size as the stage and I could see the white background showing through on the right edge of the graphic. It means that everytime i put a bitmap graphic on the stage, I have to correct the w and h in the properties box.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution? Does it occur in CS4?
I've made a simple picture slideshow. With 10 frames and on each frame a movieclip. On every frame, I use the 'loadMovie' method to import a file..A set of buttons are used to surf through the frames..Okay, I wanted to know, is there any other possible way to add a fade-in fade-out transition while changing the pic from frame 1 to frame 2.. ?The way i know of doing it will be like this;Making a movieclip, MC1, and in there, another movieclip, imagehandler MC, where that image is brought using 'loadMovie' method. And fading in imagehandler MC from frame 0 to frame 10 using motion tweening like we normally do..And putting that MC1 (with MC2 fade in effect inside)to each of the 10 frames in the main slideshow timeline (making different MC1 like MCs for each image)..But this way its much more work and more cramping in the library..
How can I crop letteraly crop a part of an imported image into a specific irregular shape that already exists on the stage as a MovieClip... a jigsaw puzzle piece for example ? (it would be prefered not to use masks).
I'll make a gallery of 122 images but I don't want to place each of them on the timeline or I can't call them, they should be included in the exported .swf or .exe file I guess what I need is something like an actionscript that would call the images imported to the library is that possible or is there a gallery like that?
I have a little question:How can I crop letteraly crop a part of an imported image into a specific irregular shape that already exists on the stage as a MovieClip... a jigsaw puzzle piece for example ? (it would be prefered not to use masks)
I am trying to import a jpeg image into an empty movie clip and then resize the image.I can scale it, and position it but I can't resize it. Somebody suggested creating a movieclip in Flash first and giving it an instance name. Then use loadMovie to place the jpeg into that movieclip. This did work and allowed me to resize it but only the movieclip would be resized which in turn resized the image proportionally.I still couldn't specify exact dimensions of the image - only the movieclip.
I am using Flash CS4 and Flash CS5.I bought some music from Amazon MP3 that I want to use in my Flash animation and I keep getting this error upon import:one or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them.
I have an animated SWF that I created. It is supposed to be at 3FPS, however it runs at 24FPS which is my stage's current FPS. How do I have different FPS's for my stage, and my SWF?
