Professional :: Turned These Pants Into A Symbol Called Pants_mc?

I'm having difficulties with a game that I am making. Essentially it is a drag and drop game where you dress a doll. i have my doll on the stage and I have a pair of pants that I am trying to drag and drop onto her. I have turned these pants into a symbol called pants_mc, I have also gien them an instance name of pants_mc.
I need to put an image up of a television and have a video of something looping in the center the image of the tv would be just that and a player would really be under the image playing the video.
I'm rather wet to AS3, and have been working on developing a site that can deal with a lot of content sections. Ignoring the fact that I haven't figured out button arrays yet, I was hoping to get some help on an issue I can't get past.
I've got a series of content movieclips which I'm controlling with menu buttons. As you can see below, they turn visible/invisible by clicking the menu buttons.
However, I can't seem to find a solution to reload the movieclips once a different menu button is selected, so each section stays forever in its previously "played" state when the button is clicked again. Is there a way to get the "content_section" movieclips to re-load or re-set once another navigation button is pressed?
I started an animation in flash recently and the autosave feature was turned on. I had a good animation, but decided to play around with it a bit. After a little while, I decided to call it a night and exited the program making sure NOT to save my work. Upon opening that file the next time, I come to find out that Flash has autosaved my file while I was playing around. Now I have a worthless animation, and have to start from scratch. Is there any way to revert to a previous save, or autosave at this point, or am I about to do a lot of work again?
I animated eyes blinking inside of a movie clip symbol and placed the symbol on a face outside of the symbol.The eyes are stuck on the first frame. I am using CS5. What do I do?
this one seems to be too tough for me. Usually i at least know in which direction i have to search for but this one is beyond my imagination.I need to make kind of dress up shop where you can add clothes to a model to see how the clothes look like. The hard part is, it should be possible to tuck pants into boots or put one apparel over another. And since the bottom apparel can be bigger than the top one i have to cut out the pixels around the top apparel.If you rollover the pants on the left you see that the image is actually bigger than the boots but is cut and curved "into the boots"And if you rollover over the "Mango top" you see that it is also much bigger than the top jacket.

How the heck do they do this ? How to detect the areas where one apparel goes into another and cut out the rest ?
I'm working on a 2D game that has an uneven terrain similar to sonic the hedgehog or fancy pants. I've been looking at different ways to implement the collision detection and collision reaction of the character on these uneven terrains. Basically, these terrains use curves, which makes collision reaction much more difficult to work with. My first thought was to make a grid around the terrain and then use the slope of that grid to rotate my character and give the illusion that the character is moving along with the curve. However, this isn't giving me the results that I'm looking for.
If you look at sonic the hedgehog, they were able to make sonic run on curved terrain without any issues. My question is, how can I mimic the physics in a game such as sonic the hedgehog or fancy pants.
I am following this tutorial, [URL] and everything works until i actually try to place a graphic symbol into another symbol. I am trying to make a character walk across the stage. Flash tells me I cannot place a symbol within itself. Why not and how can i!!
I want to load an external swf called 'signs.swf' into an empty mc called 'signholder'.

Everything works. Cool. But, I now want to target something within the signs.swf. How do I do it though? What is the path? Do I have to give the child of signholder an instance name? Everything I try fails.
If I wanted the root timeline of the external swf to gotoAndPlay(2) for example,...would i say...

I am having issues with startDrag(). I have a movie clip called circle. Inside circle, I have a movie clip called circleFill and another called circleOutline.onEnterFrame, this movieClip is duplicated 4 times.
When I use this: private function onPressNow(event:MouseEvent):void { startDrag(); } IT DRAGS ALL 4 MOVIECLIPS.

i have a box called infoBox that contains a text field called caption. infoBox expands on mouse-over. When it does so, I do not want the text in caption to scale up - I want it to stay at 11 pt. So far my code to prevent this from happening is not working:How do I fix this?[URL]..
I'm importing two swfs - one goes into a scrollpane called menuPagePane, the other just where it is.I get a "cannot access the property or method of a null oblject reference" - menuPagePane.addChild(loader); error.
If I only try to import one of either swfs, they work fine. If I take off the menuPagePane reference (so as to import it directly to the stage, not the scrollpane), the swfs load, but I get a second instance of the first one loading on top of the second one.

I have a text box movie clip called Text_mc. The Text_mc contains the number "1".I need this number to be updated daily at 12:00am by adding "1" to the existing number. Actually it is like a counter, but it counts days from the number given in Text_mc. Daily it adds a number to the existing number at 12:00am.

I have a Flash movie (.swf) file embedded within a webpage.I am looking to have an image display if the user does not have Flash installed or has it turned off.
Whats the deal with cs5? it had an inbuilt pre-loader which overrides any as3 pre-loading script - by loading the entire swf before even looking at frame 1. whats the situation here? Can the default pre-loader be customized or turned off?
The point of all this code is to meet 508(c) requirements for an online course I'm building. Texas law stipulates that all images be expandable�which is to say that if you click on the image that it will fill the screen�and I am loathe to build timelines for every image to expand them.
Everything works reasonably well until I add the last line within the deflateThis function. With the addition of that last line, the one that turns the eventListener back on, the sprite behaves as if the removeChild commands aren't there, and the damn thing won't work. When I remove the last line the sprite behaves properly, but the eventListener is now turned off.
Here's what's what: -square is a alpha reduced layer at z level 0 to reduce the distraction of the stage. -closeBtn is an AS instantiated btn that closes the sprite when the user is done looking at it.
I want to download this app in the android market, but it says I need adobe flash player 10.1 but when I look for it, it doesn't show. Does anyone know what its called? I know its in the market because a lot of people are using that app. I have the Samsung Captivate. Should I just wait for Android2.2?
I am a beginner at using Flash, so this may be a dumb question, just a warning.
When I create a motion tween and enter in a value for where I want the symbol to go, it never goes to where I entered. Example, every time I try to get a symbol to go from (308, 238) to (308, 233), it replaces the 233 with 218 and I can't figure out why.

I would like to have a flash intro that then turns into the header/banner (size wise) with my (html) site loading below it. I'm not sure if this is possible or how to go about it, the idea is that it looks very fluid and slick.
How do I create and control a line of text that i turned into a button. I want to have a selected state built into the button. is that possible? Previously I created a light next to the text that changes color or highlights when the button had been selected, but I would like the text to change color when it is selected and have script that I can use to reset the button state when another button is selected.

It appears that the flash variables are not accessible in Chrome when Javascript is turned off. Having said that, Youtube seem to work fine, when I test other sites like www.nhs.uk it does not seem to work, nor does mine.
I am using the most recent version of Chrome on Windows. Is there anything special that I need to target Chrome, how do I resolve this issue ?
however I restructured my folders and now my .fla is in the /src/ with my MainApp.as ( Document class ) then MainApp creates a new instance of a class that is in /src/blah/blah/deep/When this new as class is created it has a few buttons on it that are declared in the .fla as instance variables.I have turned off automatically declare stage instances.and declare it in my class like so.[code].....
I created an illustration in Illustrator, imported it into Flash, and converted it to a movie clip symbol. I added a keyframe at frame 20 and stretched its shape a bit. Then I created a classic tween from keyframe 1 to keyframe 2, and the resulting animation doesn't animate at all; it sits there from frames 1 to 19, and then jumps to the new position at frame 20.
that symbols dramatically reduce the document file size. But, what if only one instance of a graphic symbol is to be used? Can I just use pure bitmap graphics from the library and not symbols in that case?
I had made a space background and spinning moon with Flash cs5 for a science project, but after I made the moon spin I tried to drag it in the frame and it won't appear! It just shows a clear symbol box.
