Professional :: Way To Remap Adobe Preferences From Default Location

This isn't strictly a Flash-specific problem but I didn't really know the proper place to post so I went here.At any rate, we are trying to figure out how to remap Adobe's default preference folder to a non-local location.Does anyone know if there is some way to remap the Adobe preferences from the default location of "C:Documents and Settings\ %currentuser% Application DataAdobe" to something else, say "H:Adobe"?

I am using Flash builder 4 to both build and manage (via cvs) projects. In recent days my designer has been having trouble committing to CVS, leaving a project blocked. I have troubleshooted troubleshot tested CVS and it is working fine (others can commit and retrieve without a hitch).
in an effort to start from scratch - I have removed the flash builder application (dragging it to the trash, its a Mac) as well as using the uninstaller (which does not work as well as I would have thought), but on reinstall - all preferences are still there - CVS connection and all.
is there a file or set of files I can delete to reset all of the prefs for Flash Builder (built on eclipse if that helps)?

- I create a new fla file in Flash CS5 Professional,- I go to publish settings and select AIR2 as the target- I click the Settings button on the rightThese settings are supposed to be saved with the fla file, since all of them are related to the project.Application name, icons, files to include, etc, are all preferences related to the fla file of which you are editing the settings.However, when you go to the "Signature" tab and select a digital certificate to sign the air application with, this setting will NOT be saved into the file.Instead, whenever you publish ANY air application, it will use by default the lastcertificate you have used, even if you used it to publish _another_ application.That is absurd, because this is a tab within the "publish settings" and all publish settings are specific to a fla file.

how to change the default location that comes up when saving a new flash file.
For some reason, when I go to save a .as file that i've created in flash it choose some deeply buried folder from a project I haven't worked on in ages. I have no idea how it got set up to do that, but if possible I would love to have it default to the last location I saved a file.

According to flashmediaserver_3.5_config_admin.pdf (FMS 3.5.3), FMS determines the correct directory to use for streams in the following order:
Virtual directory (as specified in <VirtualDirectory>)
Storage directory (as specified in <storageDir>)
Default location (the streams folder in the application directory)
So I created a folder called streams in C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 3.5applicationsvod. I thought this folder would be the default location for the sample application vod. I did not change any configuration settings for the application vod. Everything was set by the FMS 3.5.3 installer. I copied sample.flv into C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 3.5applicationsvodstreams and renamed it to sample6.flv.
rtmp://{fms ip}/vod/sample6.flv d
Did not play in the sample video player installed by FMS 3.5.3. Is this a bug or the default location "streams" folder is simply not "default", you have to set it somewhere in XML?

I created a simple button that displays an error messeage: "error opening 'url" when I test the movie, but does play and opens in browser after publishing. However, it won't open in the browser in a different location. I pasted the html code in a web page but it doesn't work there nor opens in the browser in a differnet location from where it was originally published and saved. Why is that?

In my machine I have installed only Adobe Flash CS5 proffesional trial version. Now this installation is not supporting adobe.utils.Extension class in this version. I have tried with all latest updates from adobe site. My doubt is does adobe.utils.Extension class is available in licensed version of Adobe Flash CS5 proffesional?

I have to run Flash Builder as administrator to install an xml formatter that I want to use.I found that it has removed all my preferences like hot keys that I setup and my perspectives etc.If I switch back to just running not as administrator I get them back but now I don't have the xml formatter anymore.

I run a school lab with a few users on each machine. One students came up with a problem. She is always in outline view, even when the outline button in the layers panels is not punched. When I log in to the same machine, I do not have the problem. I assume the problem is in the user preferences file. We are on Windows 7. I went into AppData and deleted what I thought was the preferences file, but it continues to return.

I installed the update to Flash 8 that allows for remotedebugging, and I had it all set up and working over the past weekor two. But, all of a sudden it's not working for me anymore.I wasable to access it by right clicking my movie from within thebrowser and selecting "Debugger", but for some reason the optionisn't available anymore. I have this code for laoding an external SWF :

However, It loads this animation on the upper left corner. But I need to load it on a specific location, for example 120 px to the right and 70 px from up...
Another thing I need to do, is to load this movie "animation.swf" on a "deeper" layer, because I am creating a border that has to be over the animation... how do I do these two things ?

I have both CS3 and CS4, I now work only in CS4 with some exceptions. If I open CS4 start a new project then save after working in it the file saves with the cs3 icon. When I doubleclick the file to open it defaults back to opening in CS3.Only way to have files default and open in CS4 is to choose the icon of the CS3 (which is really a CS4 file) and choose open with other, choose the CS4 app and click on it so it opens in CS4 and then only does the icon changes to a cs4 icon.

I'm trying to access a flv file on a remote server from swf. It works perfectly from my local machine going to the remote folder. But, when I upload it to my web host, it doesn't load the remote flv. I'm guessing there's some kind of permission issue on my web host. I have a crossdomain.xml file in the root dir with the following:

I have a lot of external SWF files loading into my flash site using one UILoader on different labeled sections. I used only one UILoader component (with the same name) and then kept on scaling and repositioning it on different labeled sections. Everything worked fine until the very end for some reason some of the UILoaders jump to its own position and I can not seem to do anything about it. I can not figure out where the mistake could have been.

I'm attempting to create a template with one simple change to the file output location. I need the .swf file to placed in a subfolder, i.e. "output/filename.swf" Instead of the default "filename.swf"My problem is, if I edit the output file name field in publish settings in any way, the export file name is now locked, meaning if i have used my new template to create 3 fla files, they will all be named the same thing and replace one another in the output folder i've created. (trying to eliminate the need to open the publish settings menu here)I was hoping there was a variable like ${filename} or something i could use, but cannot find something like that.
