Professional :: Load A Movie , But In Different X,Y Location?

I have this code for laoding an external SWF :
var holder:Loader = new Loader() holder.load(new URLRequest("animation.swf")) addChild(holder)
However, It loads this animation on the upper left corner. But I need to load it on a specific location, for example 120 px to the right and 70 px from up...
Another thing I need to do, is to load this movie "animation.swf" on a "deeper" layer, because I am creating a border that has to be over the animation... how do I do these two things ?

Does someone have a working fla to illustrate how to load an external movie and zoom and pan to specific location of this movie (with easing)? With actionscript, not necessarily with a control for the user. I am looking for it for some time and unfortunately my programming abilities are not yet sufficient to find it out from scratch (but I am working on it).

If you click on one of the images of the employees I would like it to load another movie into the location above where the image of the bird is. The swf with the employee photos is a series of buttons within a movie clip within another.

I created a simple button that displays an error messeage: "error opening 'url" when I test the movie, but does play and opens in browser after publishing. However, it won't open in the browser in a different location. I pasted the html code in a web page but it doesn't work there nor opens in the browser in a differnet location from where it was originally published and saved. Why is that?

I'm just learning to load a swf into location/target and on my swf to be loaded in i made a preloader bar. It works in test but when it is loaded through the original swf file the bar doesnt move, though the swf loads ok. I've looked at this a lot but cant see what's up...so

I have the following to load swf files in my main movie. The first swf files that loads has a movie FLV file in it. When I unload that swf file, with the below, the swf seems to get removed, but the audio of that flv keeps playing. What do I have to do, to completely remove that swf file.

I gave up on Flash heavy coding when it switched to AS3. Always thought it was less intuitive, longer, and a brand new language and I got tired of trying to keep up when most of my clients did not want to pay for a full flash site. But I got this client...

Is there a way to load a movie into the flash player and play it to a viewer without installing the adobe server software and the price that goes with it? I installed the update to Flash 8 that allows for remotedebugging, and I had it all set up and working over the past weekor two. But, all of a sudden it's not working for me anymore.I wasable to access it by right clicking my movie from within thebrowser and selecting "Debugger", but for some reason the optionisn't available anymore. I've rechecked my settings according tothe livedocs, and ensured the swd file is in the same dir as theswf, but no dice.

I'm trying to access a flv file on a remote server from swf. It works perfectly from my local machine going to the remote folder. But, when I upload it to my web host, it doesn't load the remote flv. I'm guessing there's some kind of permission issue on my web host. I have a crossdomain.xml file in the root dir with the following:

I have a lot of external SWF files loading into my flash site using one UILoader on different labeled sections. I used only one UILoader component (with the same name) and then kept on scaling and repositioning it on different labeled sections. Everything worked fine until the very end for some reason some of the UILoaders jump to its own position and I can not seem to do anything about it. I can not figure out where the mistake could have been.

I'm attempting to create a template with one simple change to the file output location. I need the .swf file to placed in a subfolder, i.e. "output/filename.swf" Instead of the default "filename.swf"My problem is, if I edit the output file name field in publish settings in any way, the export file name is now locked, meaning if i have used my new template to create 3 fla files, they will all be named the same thing and replace one another in the output folder i've created. (trying to eliminate the need to open the publish settings menu here)I was hoping there was a variable like ${filename} or something i could use, but cannot find something like that.

Where do you put your code in flash? Do you put it all on the main timeline? Do you put in on the objects ? Where is the best place and why ? I followed a few tutorials where all of the code was on a layer in the main timeline (for arrangement). I kind of liked that but as I advanced in flash I started having problems with specifying the hole path for every movie clip (sometimes 7,8 embeded movieclips). I find it much more easier to just put the code on the movie clip itself. What is your method and why?

This isn't strictly a Flash-specific problem but I didn't really know the proper place to post so I went here.At any rate, we are trying to figure out how to remap Adobe's default preference folder to a non-local location.Does anyone know if there is some way to remap the Adobe preferences from the default location of "C:Documents and Settings\ %currentuser% Application DataAdobe" to something else, say "H:Adobe"?
