How one would go about saving a bitmap image of movie clips to the hard drive?
View 3 RepliesI am building a Flash Application which will allow a user to mix two mp3 files and send the mixed result to our server.
Using Pixel Bender I am already able to create a mix:
public class Mixer
{
[Embed(source="mix.pbj", mimeType="application/octet-stream")]
protected var NewFilter:Class;
[Code].....
Not sure if the event.byteArray can be transformed to an mp3 file? Ideally we'd send the mp3 to our server for uploading.
is there any way to convert animated movieClip to byteArray and save it as swf or flv or any video extension on the computer??
I tried writeObject but it doesn't work !!
I have an animated MovieClip and I want to save it to computer as animated swf !is there any way to convert it to byteArray and send it to FileReferenc and save it ?I tried writeObject but it doesn't work !
View 5 RepliesWell, i am recording the voice from heaphone and the sound data is stored in ByteArray at runtime, now can i stored as mp3 ?i want to save as mp3 file on the client system.. For that, i think i have to use air application..
View 1 RepliesI am trying to make a little "database" app. I have several obejcts that need to be saved and loaded (saved data files). These objects are custom MovieClip classes.I will say that I don't know much about ByteArray. What I have attempted was to put all my objects into and array, then use ByteArray.writeObject() and ByteArray.readObject() with that array.I assume that the file saves ok, but when I try and load back the file, I get a 1034: Type Coercion failed error. See the code snips below.
Code:
public function ToSave(e:Event):void{
aFile = new FileReference();
//compiled data in the order: league,allTeams,allPlayers,allGames
[code]....
I'm trying to save a byteArray to a blob.
The save method looks to be working:
Code: Select allpublic function SaveImage (Image $im)
{
$ba = new Zend_Amf_Value_ByteArray ( $im->bArray );
$data = mysql_real_escape_string ( $ba->getData () );
[Code].....
In Flash I'm getting my Image class back but the byteArray seems to be 0
I would need to save some binary data (bitmap data or similar) as a part of XML file.[code]...
I suppose I must serialize or encode "ba" (binary bytearray data) some way to string before writeing to XML and decode them back during the reading from XML, but I cannot find the correct way how to do it.
saving the data from microphone to hard disk.I manage to save the data but is heavily distorted.Here is the as3 code:[CODE]
import flash.events.ActivityEvent[code]........
I have created a small flash application. There are swf files, folders with xml files and the base exe file.The application has been burned onto a CD and will be replicated. The client is concerned that someone can take the CD, copy the files to a harddrive and then duplicate the CD themselves, possibly selling it.How can a CD, with flash content be replicated and not allow files to be copied
View 1 Repliesfirst off is this possible?personally, I believe it is if I can some how set up my computer to be a server.Basically what I want to do is have a flash document on my website access/create text files on my hard drive.I know I need something along the lines of XML or PHP can anybody tell me what the best things are to start with?
View 2 RepliesI have a swf that loads in other swf files and interacts with the loaded swfs, everything works great when I hit ctrl-enter to test movie from from flash, but if I go out and doubleclick the generated swf on the harddrive at first it appears to work correctly, but some of my class methods do not function properly, or throw errors claiming there are null object references. If I compile to an exe file instead of swf it works fine as well.I am nearly 100% positive this is not a code related issue, as I said the only time I run into the problem is when I doubleclick the generated swf to run it.
View 4 RepliesI have some audio data in a byte array in a Flex app that I would like to save to my model in Django. I assume I would use a FileField, but I can't seem to get it to work. (My project is set up like this.) I've tried looking at this sample code for PyAmf, but I can't quite get the two to combine.
View 1 RepliesI am working on a game, made with Flash (using AS3) The game has a fast ball and when this ball hits an object it has to make a sound... but the sound starts with delay (so the ball is far away when the sound is played).This sound is edited by me and it hasn't got any silences at the beginning.The method i'm currently using is the simplest one:
public var sonidoPuntos1:sonidopunto1 = new sonidopunto1()
and then...
sonidoPuntos1.play()
I am trying to introduce the file into a ByteArray and then playing it from there...
I am trying to get hold of Adobe CS4 but not sure of the best way to do this. I have an old Dell laptop which won't be able to hold this. I was thinking of getting a cheap refurbed mac or alternatively getting an external hardrive to use with CS4 loaded onto it.
View 1 RepliesI used the 'Advanced Slideshow' template in Flash CS5 to create a photo gallery. The images in the template are not placed inside of the project but are separate files (the photos). I tested it on my harddrive and it works perfectly. Then I uploaded it to my website and it doesn't show the images. The folder structure is the same as it is on my harddrive, all the files are the same.
View 9 RepliesI've looked on Adobe's Flash Player guide and in the official docs, but it's not mentioned. I'm creating a game that saves your progress to the local drive using SharedObjects and want to reassure users about what's going on
View 3 RepliesI know its a true Pain but does anyone know any way to convert wav ByteArray to mp3 ByteArray.
View 1 RepliesBasically im building a flash based drum head designer for users to upload their own image, resize, add text etc, then it be uploaded to a web server when they complete the purchase.
I have all the server side part working, able to send a 2800px square image and compress it into a 1.5MBish jpg.
the problem im having is for the user to upload an image into flash. I've seen prototypes where it uploads the image to the server, then flash loads that image, then upoads the completed one, but this uses alot of transfers.
What I hoped to achieve is something similar to the system on the [URL] website where the image is stored in the cache first. I have spent hours looking for resources on importing user images into flash without uploading first.
How do we save file locally in Flash (ActionScript 3) without displaying dialog. I know we can use the following code to save file locally but it prompts Save dialog. I don't want this dialog while saving file locally.

The BLOB field (pic) is turning out as 0 Bytes when trying to send ByteArray through as3 to PHP, so i assume the PHP script or the HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA isn't working.I think the Flash part is working, I have set a trace() to see if the bitmapdata is coming through and it seems it is, so I'm assuming its my php side.3
private function export():void
{
var bmd:BitmapData = new BitmapData(600, 290);
[code].....
The complied SWF is not showing the preloader until the whole SWF completely loaded.
View 1 RepliesI have to convert a MovieClip to ByteArray and send it to php using the POST method. The person handling php says that only ByteArray needs to be send and conversion to JPG and PNG can be done from PHP side. When I built the option for saving on the local machine the following steps were used.
Converting to Bitmapdata
Using JPGEncoder and PNGEncoder on the Bitmapdata
Then assiging to byte array variable.
So in this case different byte arrays were used for saving in case of JPG and PNG and it worked.
I found the code to convert movieclip to bytearray in Stackoverflow itself

What is the simpliest way to find an occurance of some sequance of bytes (string) in a long byte array?
UPD: I tried to do
my_byte_array.toString().indexOf(needle_string);
the problem is that in flash/air string consist of utf8 characters, so indexOf will return value different from offset of "string" in a byte array (actually it's zip archive)
I'm using URLStream to download a big file and save locally on a mobile app. To do this, i need to store the downloaded bytes on a ByteArray:
private function handleStreamProgress(event : ProgressEvent) : void {
if ( urlStream.bytesAvailable == 0 ) return;
if ( urlStream.connected ) {
[Code]....
Are these bytes from the downloaded file stored in Memory? (Profiler doesn't show any excessive memory consumption, though...)
Should I clean the byteArray after each sequence of bytes is stored?
How can I get the size of a ByteArray in bytes? I want to know, to see the difference in data transferred before and after the compression of a string (via ByteArray).
View 1 Repliesi have a problem passing ByteArray from flash (as3) to amfphp to save an image.With old version of amfphp, all worked in the past... now, with new version i have many problem.I'm using version 2.0.1 and the first problem is that i have to do this, for access to my info:

I have a flash video file (FLV) stored in the ByteArray object and would like to play this video.
View 5 RepliesI need to write a ByteArray to a file on local disk with Flash AS3. The flashapplication is run locally (it's a projector exe).
I found the FileReference class with the save() function which works perfect. The only problem is, that this function opens a filebrowser and let's the user select where to store the file. However - i have the path already as string and need to save to this location without useraction (since i'm exporting a lot of files into this directory in one go and don't want the user to choose each one manually).
Is there a way to store a bytearray from a projector to local disk without opening a filebrowser?
I'm also using mdm Zinc, which actually provides a function to save a ByteArray to disk, but this function is for some unknown reasons not working. I already filed a bugreport, but I need to get this to work very urgently, so i'm looking for alternatives!
