I'm adding text to a movieclip as you can see below. The text is alomost not visible because it's so small. If I don't scale the movieclip then the text becomes clipped. I basically want the movieclip to be a tight container (the same size as the textfield) for the Textfield. The below does not work. How can I do this?

I've set the publish settings to 100% width and 100% height and have then added the 'noScale' function into the first frame of my timeline. Here is an idea of what I'm trying to create:
I have three movieclips that are touching the left side of the Stage and want them to touch the left side of the browser but centre vertically. I can do this by adding the 'Stage.align = LC' command, but not sure if this is the right way to go about it.
The movieclip that is on top contains a logo and I want it to have a fixed size. I called the instance name 'logo_mc'.
The movieclip below 'logo_mc' is called 'container_mc' and is a strip of photographs that I need to run from the left to the right side of the browser no matter what the browser size. I need this movieclip to scale proportionally up and down as they viewer resizes their browser so the first photo is touching the left side of the browser and the last picture is touching the right side (without distorting).
The final movieclip is called 'buttons_mc' and is right below the 'container_mc' clip. This movieclip needs to remain a fixed size.
Obviously when the 'container_mc' clip resizes I need the other movieclips to move up and down to stay the same distance above and below the 'container_clip'.

My question today is dealing with a dynamically generated button with a textField.I have the button copy in XML and I need to add a buffer of 10 pixels to either side of the textField. I tried to CENTER my textFormat, but then I could not see my text because the button is for some strange reason 545.45 instead of 88 like it should be. When I change the alignment to LEFT then I can see my text, but still the larger issue is my button size is horribly off.[code]

The images expand and contract perfectly as the browser is resized. I am used to having to size pics for the lowest res screens (I design for 1024 width resos's usually).
What size should I make pictures to work like this... Does flash scale them down / up / either... are there quality issues with letting flash manage the sizing.
I'm trying to have a dynamic text field with a black background. I want the text to be of fixed width, but expandable height, and for the background to grow with the text field depending on the input. I looked at the "autoSize" property for TextField, but it looks like that only adjusts the width.

I have a problem with loading text from a *.txt file into a dynamic textfield which is located in a movieclip in another movieclip. It seems it can't find the textfield because it is in movieclips. I know I shouldn't work with the '_root' command but in my project it doesn't matter. Also tried making '_root' globalmain to 'this'. But that still doesn't do the trick.

I referred to the movieclip from an external class and have the linkage setup for it.
However, no matter what I try to do to instanciate the text field inside it, I keep getting:
Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.
Now I really want to have this dynamic textfield inside the movieclip because it's part of a preloader so I don't just want to addChild to the stage. So Now I think I can't just build it.
I've been working on this all afternoon long and can't seem to shake this error.
I can't seem to make this clip disappear. I've tried calling it from it's parent object and also tried putting this.removeMovieClip(); inside the clip itself, but it just won't go. I don't have the same problem with other clips in the movie. This is the only one that has a dynamic text field, but I don't see why that would make a dif.

Now it shows just the background of the movieclip (so that gets loaded on stage), the title-field stays empty (although I embedded the font), only the content-field is showing the dummy content I put in in flash.
I'm working on a fullscreen site for a client. I have a rectangle movie clip that needs to match the stage width and then animate across the stage. use code to set the registration point to the top left and position it to the left of the stage, then set the width to match the stage, and then animate it across the stage, but I'm not sure if that's right or how to do it if it is.
I have a MovieClip that has a Dynamic TextField: let's call the instance of the field txtName. I want to set the text field on the fly for txtName, so I add a little ActionScript (3!) that does it nice and easily: txtName.text = "Foo";reat. i have a movieclip containing a dynamic text-field in it. When movieclip is stretched using transform manager, the text stretches. i am developing a component. Moreover,Event.Resize can not be used as Event.Resize is the Stage event. it does not work for movie-clips and sprite.Putting it in Event. I did it by creating a text field 'myText' and then converted it to a MovieClip symbol and named the MovieClip as myClip. The text in myText is assigned at run-time and its width changes according to the text.

When a user enters a number into the page count it makes a calculation and places the outcome into the dynamic textfield. This textfield is for the individual price.All of this so far works. What I want to do now is create another dynamic textfield for the total. So the individual price is multiplied by the quantity and this result is put in the new dynamic text field. I have the code for that working but here is where it gets tricky (for me anyway).The total price is to start off invisible. I'm creating a playlist for a music player, and I've got the song names displaying correctly in my songTitle holder MC, but there's limited space for the song names to be shown in, and I'm going to eventually have it inside a scrolling movieclip. Problem is, the text inside the textfields disappear when I try to add a mask to the movieclip they're being loaded into. I have a flash file that loads dynamic text from a text file. When you press the space bar, it animates the text upward like movie credits. It works fine until I add more than 50 lines or so, at which point it delays showing the text until it's well into its scrolling.the kink here is that it only displays this error when it plays in fullscreen mode (which it is set to do by default, and what I need). if I escape out to window mode, it plays the text animation just fine.
