Swf Not Playing Correctly When Imported To Fla?

I created a flash file (I will refer to this a swf.1) that plays correct when published as swf.However when I place it into another flash file the nested animation inside the swf.1 does not run.The nested animation in swf1. that does not run has a mask. Would this have anything to do with it?

I have imported a gif but it does not play correctly. It's only two frames. The first bmp associated with the gif in the library has both slides combined while the second bmp is correct.To show the issue I am having. Here is the 2frame gif playing correctly:[URL]Now here is a screen shot of my library:[URL] You can see how the highlights bmp is incorrect. When I play the gif in Firefox,IE, Ulead gif animator or anywhere else it is fine but in Flash it shows that first frame with the combined slides and then the 2nd slide correctly. It ruins the "dancing effect" I'm going for.

I am writing a large elearning course using flash.As a break for the student, I want to include a breakout game on one frame. I tried loading the game (game01.swf) into an MC container. The game loaded but did not function correctly.Then, using the Timeline Select All Frames, Timeline Copy, and Timeline Paste functions, I copy/pasted the game layers into an inserted MC symbol. Then I pasted the MC symbol onto the desired course frame. The game still did not run correctly.

I have this thumbnail photo gallery (AS2)that is running fine on a pc, but when viewed in firefox or safari on a mac the thumbnails do not show up. Here is a live link: [URL] at the bottom you should see the thumbnails, but maybe not if viewing on mac? You can download the fla from here [URL].

when trying to play the MP3 stream of the URL "[add_http_://]radiow.cld.3qsdn.com/stream01" with ActionScript 3 it only "stutters" and sounds horrible, but it works perfectly with ActionScript 2.I'm using following Code in ActionScript 2:

=> This works perfectly - no problems.
But when using this code together with ActionScript 3:

=> It sounds really horrible.
It is a normal MP3 stream (128 Kbps) that works perfectly with any other player (like WinAMP, VLC, Windows Media Player, ...).

First is that after showing question and answers and playing sounds i go to the next question and we the answers but the sound does not go with it, that is the sounds of question and answer dont change and are the same as in the first question and the same goes for answers the xml looks like this:

In my flash movie, I've imported a very small video file. When the video is done playing, I wanted the user to be able to click a button and the video would play in reverse. I've gotten this to work with the _currentframe and _nextframe properties, but when I play the movie in reverse it's not as smooth. Here's an example of what happens: [URL] Once the movie is done playing, click on it. When it's playing in reverse, you can see it gets a little choppy when the guy gets towards the top of the rail. Has anyone found a way to play the movies backwards without having the speed affected? Maybe I shouldn't use the _currentframe property??

I am using YouTube JS API to play videos on my site. Video is played on the dialog box. When user closes the dialog box, player is stopped - player.stopVideo(); But when user clicks again on video icon again, dialog box appears
In Chrome, the video starts playing at the previous position - OK Firefox, the video starts playing from the start irrespective of where user left it last time. - NOT OK
As per my requirements, I want the Chrome to behave as how firefox is behaving.

I am using AS2 in CS5.5.I am creating a project for a class that introduced me to adobe flash. The issue is I have gotten to a certain point about 15 scenes. During say the 15th scene scrolling through the timeline animations works fine, playing it on test scene works fine. When I go to play it on test movie it stops at a certain point. At first I thought it might have been a misplaced stop action but there is none to be found. The weird part is every other scene I create after that continues to freeze as well, the images are there, but the animations won't play. All my previous animations play before those with the issue, it's justThese new ones won't play for some reason in test movie, but work completely fine in test scene and the timeline.

I have some animation (programmatic, I'm NOT using keyframed animation in timeline), and some music I want to play in the background. Once the music file reaches the end (about 30 seconds long), I want to trigger the end of the animation functions.I figure I could either use an actionscript timer to trigger the end of the animation or a keyframe with actionscript that is placed on the timeline near the end of the song but these methods assume knowledge about the duration of the wave file. If I changed the framerate or updated the external wave file, these triggers would possibly no longer sync upIs there some sort of event listener or other detection method for an audio file to signal it has finished playing? Or maybe there is a way to get the duration of the audio file to use in the timer

I am creating a game that has 6 movieclips all on the main time line of the game. Each movie clip has three buttons that when clicked plays, pauses or stops a sound clip.When I press any of the sound clip play buttons that sound starts playing, the problem is when I click any of the other sound clip play buttons those sounds also start to play. Is there a way I can disable the other sound clip buttons while the current sound is playing then enable all of the buttons when the current sound has stopped.

So I made a few buttons with sounds within them and when I publish it they work just fine. But what I want them to do is;
Say I click a Button.The sound starts playing.Then I click it again, before the sounds done playing.I want it to stop the playing sound and start playing the button I just clicked on, whether it be the same button, or a different one.Right now it just ends up sounds like an echo because it'll play it as many times as you click it.

The problem I have is I click the play button and start playing. Then I click next and when I click play for another song the songs overlap. How can I stop whatever song is playing and start playing the new one? Has to stop the prev song when I click play_brn.

ok so i have a button that plays an animation for fire when held down. and when realsed goes to and stops and frame one. when it reaches the end of the time line it goes to and plays at frame 10 and goes back to the end of the timeline. I have a sound for the fire animation that plays for the effect. The problem is the sound keeps going untill its over even if the button isnt held down. and when the playhead reaches the end of the timeline it goes to and plays and frame 10 and it replays the sound. if i hold it down it will just keep playing the sound over and over from start to finish. what i want it to do it when i hold the button down i want it to play the sound and when released it stops the sound where ever it is at. I also dont the sound to play again if there is a sound already going to stop it from playing 20 sounds at one time it gets loud and you need asprin after about 5 seconds of that.

I am learning how using flash is like using legos. if you have two eight hole pieces, and you put them together using only two holes, the lego structure will not be as strong or work so well. seems like you have to cover the entire basis (put all eight holes into the eight pegs) for the program to work, and I am reading the help section for this, although if anyone knows of some good books that hold valuable knowledge and wisdom, I would certainly like to know about them, as I am dedicated to learning flash.
I have 1.swf, that in order to get it to operate as I have programed it, I must play it in the flash player. Playing it in Flash Professional does not work in its entirety because of conflicts in the enter key's duties. The 1.swf works as it should when played in the flash player outside of Flash Professional MX 2004.When I am loading 1.swf into presentation style 2.swf, and then play 2.swf in the Flash Player, the key board functionality of 1.swf (most specifically the enter key) does not operate as the 1.swf Actionscript 2.0 defines. I have created a projection file as well, to see if there was any other behavior that might occur, but the result were the same. So i've created an interface for a lobby display. It's running on a 52" LCD (1280x768). I have the computer hard wired to the display (HP Laptop with standalone flash player) and have the same resolution settings set on it. Now, I built the interface on my Mac desktop and have the stage set to 1280x768.
The kicker: When i run it on the display, there's a lot of extra vertical space at the bottom. When i change the resolution to 1280x1024, it fills the screen vertically properly, but then shortens it horizontally.

it seemed like a simple process but I cant seem to get this right... I got a button there, but the URL wont go, ie, the click does nothing.I imported a PSD layered image to Flash CS3, into a new blank layer. I need basically an area of this PSD to be "image mapped" so what I did was create a rectangle with the rect tool, over the area I needed the hot spot.Here I tried to do a transparent box and border (alpha 0) but the outline is still there even though the box is "empty." I did select the transparent box, no color, and tried alpha, both same result)I made that into a symbol, then I double clicked into there to fill in the key pts for the over, hit, etc., states.... I dont have any effects here btw, as simple as we can get.After that I right clicked on the buttonand entered the action script ("reserve" is the name of my button symbol)

I'm putting together a website in Flash CS4, and my Actionscript knowledge is pretty minimal. The site has a portfolio section with a scrollbar, which I modified from a downloadable example I found here: http:[url]...The prewritten code uses xml to import the thumbnails into the scrollbar- all of this is fine and working beautifully so far. What I'd like to do is to have each thumbnail act as a button, so that when clicked, you jump to another page/frame on the timeline. I see that it's very straightforward to either open a 'full' image or to go have the thumbnail take you to an html page, but is there a command that can go into the xml text that will simply take you to another spot on the timeline?

I created an image in Photoshop that included a gradient layer fading from transparency to a foreground color (in this case, black). I saved this image as a PNG file and imported the file onto my Flash stage. The gradient appears on the image as expected when viewing the stage in the Flash editor, however, when I test the movie, the gradient no longer appears.

I am creating an animation that will be used in 60 or so countries so messages will have to be translated in-country. From what I understand, using XML is the best way to do this. So, I created the following XML file (number of items reduced for space) using notepad:

I have imported some info from an xml file into my movie. The info from this file is then displayed in dynamic text boxes. Three of these text boxes show a price which displays fine. However i need the contents of these text boxes to be added together in another dynamic text box called total. I need this total to update as the price fields change. I just cant figure it out.

Im preparing a Flash piece that includes several audio files. I imported the audio successfully but for some reason when I play the swf, the audio sounds tinny. I set the settings to speech compression and synced to stream. Some of the audio files were edited in Soundbooth to add silence at the beginning of the audio files. HOwever, all files (edited in Soundbooth or not) sound tinny.
