Actionscript 3 :: Converting Uploaded Images To PNG With PHP Script?
May 13, 2011
I've got an upload button I've made in Flash that links to a PHP script and I was wondering if there was any way I could convert all the images to PNGs as the user uploads them?
<?php
if (move_uploaded_file($_FILES['Filedata']['tmp_name'],
"Parts/userdata/" . $_FILES['Filedata']['name']))
{
I previously had all those images in the library. They were attached to a father clip with attachMovie(), and next they were placed and resized somewhere on the stage. Everything was correct.So, in order to create a lighter SWF, I decided to do external loads. I need these clips to be resized and placed once they're on the stage. I thought loadMovie() wouldn't be a good option because the resize would happen before the clips were loaded, and so they wouldn't be resized. So I thought of using the MovieClipLoader class, with its loadClip() method in order to load every image into empty movie clips, and perform the resize inside the onLoadComplete event handler.
I have made this very simple slideshow which loads images via a XML file. Everything works fine locally, the images load nice slideshow. But the problems start when I load it up to my server, once it is uploaded and I try t o play it I get this error: [QUOTE]Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed.[/QUOTE]
It has something to do with the .xml file which I load in AS here: var request_xml:URLRequest=new URLRequest("setup.xml");
I tried to replace it with ("[URL]") but then I got a sandbox violation error which is not solvable unless you get it signed (I read that somewhere). The way I load images in XML: <SLIDE_SHOW> <PICTURE>ImagesBw/Foto1.JPG</PICTURE> ... </SLIDE_SHOW> [URL]
I am creating a website where people can upload images to my server.
These are then downloaded by a seperate flash file.
Is it better to resize the images using Flash or PHP?
I have tried a php resize script, but the images seem to lose quite a lot of thier quality.
Where as flash it looks a bit better, when I just resize them using _xscale
Also I have the problem, it would be nice it people could upload whatever size (memory or dimensions) image they want then php resizes it and it's all good.
As in Flash I may have to be downloading huge image size, which slow down the transfer..
However I don't want to lose the images quality and I suck at PHP but I'm okay in AS.
I just uploaded my exported swf to the site for the first time and it's running the movie but, either not reading the xml file or reading the xml and not loading the images.
I have a flash template that I bought and customized with dreamweaver, flash and Coda html editor, the website test PERFECTLY when I test the index.html file, all of the buttons work fine, I have a total of 12 .flv videos and they ALL play back fine, when I play the index.html file, the problem occurs when I upload the files to my godaddy server, 11 of the videos play fine, the whole site is fine, it is one particular .flv file that will not play once it is uploaded to the server. I have changed the orders the video play, renamed the file and changed the html flv path to reflect the name change, I have deleted all the files off my server, refreshed the server logged out and re logged on and uploaded everything again, I have re-encoded the original .mov file to a .flv file again using Adobe media encoder, still nothing, I am wondering why would the index.html play this particular .flv file fine, but once uploaded to the server it will not play, the path is correct I have checked it, if the path were the problem the index.html for that particular file would not play when I test the index.html file before I upload it, but it plays fine until it is uploaded, I am uploading the whole folder on the root, and this particular video file is in a folder with all the rest of the .flv files, I even tried changing the path and putting this particular .flv file in a seperate folder and change the path still nothing.
Is there a way in actionscript to convert an image to text data, i want to do an air app that converts an image to text and saves it in a text file, i also need a way to convert that text back to an image,
I am loading an external swf file into my swf file in CS4 with AS2. The reason I am doing this is that the external swf file contains a sequence of images and I tried to convert it to flv video but using many tricks and software out there (like converting to AVI and then to FLV) but there was always LOSS in quality. My question is! Is there a SWF player component much like FLV player component, because I need to give the user the ability to stop, pause, rewind etc.... the loaded external swf file?
I would like to be able to move images into and out of Flex by converting back and forth between ByteArrays. I've been having some trouble with this, so I designed a simple test program, and even that I can't get to work. Here's the code I'm trying right now:
[Code]...
So far the process follows top to bottom: Click button 3, image displays, everything is going well. Click button 4, and I get "Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type." after the line "loader.loadBytes(myByeArray);" in the function button4_clickHandler. As far as I can tell I'm using everything as intended.
I am trying to take images I am placing in a flex canvas component to a bitmap. I was able to get to the point where I'm not getting an error but then no image shows up and the image I save out as a jpg is blank. I imagine I'm not setting the bitmap data correctly but can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
Here is the code where I am converting it to a bitmap:
I'm having a task in which I have to read and save images in the database.I'm using C#.net Webservice and SQlserver2008 database and I'm saving image as varbinary format.How I can read images from local system and convert it into byte array in Flex ?How to show images in Flex that are recieved in type Bytearray?
I am using Flash Professional CS5 and a sequence of small images that I want to convert to a MovieClip to use in actionscript 3. I have a blank actionscript 3 file. I go to Insert -> New Symbol, name it 'blue', set it as a Movieclip and tick 'Export For Actionscript'. Then I press OK. I get the message about creating a new class and click OK. Obviously this creates 'blue' in my library. I then go to File -> Import -> Import To Stage and select my first image of four, 'blue1.png'. It asks if I want to import the sequence of images. I have blue1.png, blue2.png, blue3.png, blu4.png, so I click Yes and the images appear on the timeline, stage and my library. Can I now use the class 'blue' in my main actionscript file? Currently, in my main actionscript file, called BubbleVillage, I have some very simple code:
Code: package { import flash.display.*; public class BubbleVillage extends MovieClip { public function BubbleVillage() { private var firstblue:blue; firstblue = new blue(); addchild(firstblue); }}} When I save and test the movie, I get a blank screen.
As you can see when the bird flies across the screen it leaves part of it at the end, then clouds and the wolf do the same thing.This is all vector based artwork. It doesn't make sense becuase the simple images or complex images both leave a portion behind when rendering.The video plays perfectly in Flash. I tried importing it into iMovie and the same problem occurs.I don't even know what this is called so I can't seem to find any support on the issue
I have everything ready to bring to the next stage and so i checked online to see what it's going to look like (expecting it to look the same as what it does on my desktop):Notice the words at the top there (they appear after you roll your mouse over the word menu).Now when it is uploaded it looks like:I made sure to have everything uploaded onto my serverspace and I don't understand why those little words disappear?
I have created my website with flash pro cs5 and when i open my html it looks okay but when i upload it to my server host and view swf file it looks smaller in myindex html
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en">
I've created a couple of little flash movies (for the first time) showing figures merging into one another. I imported the movies into Dreamweaver and when I tested them in my browser, they worked fine. However, now that I've uploaded all the pages/files for my client to look at, the movies don't work. Infact in one case it doesn't even appear.
I have created a flash movie with a video in it. I used a skin when I imported the video. It plays fine in Flash. When I export the .swf file and drag it into Dreamweaver the skin does not show up.Once in Dreaweaver I set the parameters to wmode_transparent.If so how do I go around it b/c I will need it transparent.
When I am testing these movies in flash (command return), and the files are on a local drive everything works fine. when I upload them to the server and test them in the browser they don't function. Not the same anyhow.
for example one will work fine, the next time i choose one I only see the loader bar progress, and if i try one that has already been tried nothing seems to happen, Is there something obviously wrong???
I made a flash website for a client and there is only ONE thing wrong with it. Everything works when I preview it in Adobe Flash Player. And I have it embedded in a Dreamweaver CS3 file, and when I preview it...it works. THEN when I upload it to the server, two of the INTERNAL links fail. I have two links that say "Behind the Camera" and "Contact". [URL] You can see when you click on either of the links, it just randomly skips ahead in the first scene. What I really want them to do is when you click Behind the Camera you go to Scene 2 and Contacts you go to Scene 3. I have coded everything correctly, because everything works when I preview it. But once I upload the .swf file to the server, those links fail.
The user uploads an image. After uploading is complete the image is displayed the screen. The user can select a particular pixel on the image. Accordingly the image should be removed of that color and made transparent. 1. i tried the getpixel and setpixel32 the image still is very blurr. 2. i also tried threshold its also of the same result - not able to see how to make the output of the image more crisp.
I've uploaded a video produced by Camtasia, but it's not played at all! Have a look: [URL] You see that the video is being downloaded, but not played.
The player is ARPlayer 1.7. The video is a mp4 file.
The file is perfectly played on a local computer, but after uploading to ftp stops being played. I don't why...
P.S. It's interesting that if I make simply an swf-video file, it's played good: [URL]. But I don't like this option, because the swf-video is 30MB vs 5MB of the mp4-video.
I used my Flash encoder to convert a .wmv to .flv and FTP to my server but I cant play it. I can play it fine on my desktop but not on my web page. www.holy-trinity-schoolschool.org/index.html. I ftp'ed the Script file and the .flv but nogo.
I am creating a site witch has a gallery page. I first used an instance of the UILoader to load a separate galley swf into the main site. Now while this was fine for all things local, the minute I uploaded to the production site for testing I am left with a site where only some text line of the gallery's xml file. So I tried enclosing the gallery into the main site and am left with the same thing. I've check all the paths to the thumbnails and large files as well as the large and relevant sound files.
I have recently updated my websiteand added Flash to the home page and in all of my portfolio galleries. When testing the site locally everything looked great, however, now that it is uploaded to my server the Flash is not working.I don't see anywhere in my HTML that it is pointing to a local file/folder
I am trying to build an uploader that will take data collected earlier in the form before the upload occurs and then rename the uploaded file with it. I've gotten the upload itself to work, but thus far I have no luck getting any sort of renaming to work, not even by PHP.I tried Loadvars to transfer the variables over and rename it during upload, yet it says "NO" and rejects the post variables when the upload occurs. I even tried loading the variables into an external file and transfering them back to the uploader via cookie, all at the same time. Again it says "NO!", and the file is uploaded as __"filename".jpg. This is my code thus far:
when I test the project on on my computer it works fine. However, when uploaded to the commercial web server, the swf file, which is the Header doesn't load initially, leaving a blank space. When I click on the navigation button for that page, it loads perfectly. After that I can go to another page and come back the original page and everything works fine.
I'm having a problem with getting a backend script to append an xml file after the client has uploaded a new image. A serate swf will read the xml to update banners
I got the image uploader to work but can't figure out the xml.

Code: // First thing is to set the flashing upload message clip to invisible uploadMsg.visible = false; // Set the URL for the PHP uploader script
