View 3 RepliesI figured that Flash would be the best for the result I'm going for. I am making an Adobe Flash website and part of the website includes a box that is draggable and movable around the screen. So, to keep it simple, how can I make it movable?
View 1 RepliesI have a flash template that I bought and customized with dreamweaver, flash and Coda html editor, the website test PERFECTLY when I test the index.html file, all of the buttons work fine, I have a total of 12 .flv videos and they ALL play back fine, when I play the index.html file, the problem occurs when I upload the files to my godaddy server, 11 of the videos play fine, the whole site is fine, it is one particular .flv file that will not play once it is uploaded to the server. I have changed the orders the video play, renamed the file and changed the html flv path to reflect the name change, I have deleted all the files off my server, refreshed the server logged out and re logged on and uploaded everything again, I have re-encoded the original .mov file to a .flv file again using Adobe media encoder, still nothing, I am wondering why would the index.html play this particular .flv file fine, but once uploaded to the server it will not play, the path is correct I have checked it, if the path were the problem the index.html for that particular file would not play when I test the index.html file before I upload it, but it plays fine until it is uploaded, I am uploading the whole folder on the root, and this particular video file is in a folder with all the rest of the .flv files, I even tried changing the path and putting this particular .flv file in a seperate folder and change the path still nothing.

I've created this simple website which consists of a 3d carousel style gallery of images. When I tested it locally everything worked perfectly, however, the version on the web-server is not working. The website is at dansawesomeweb. site11. com. I renamed the html file so you can browse the websites folders if you wish. After much testing I believe the problem of the website lies within me loading external images. You see two of the images(the only two that you can see) are loaded from the same domain and specifically the same directory as the website itself. It seems to be unable to load any image from any where else on the web.It could be to do with the image url's I used: i'm not entirely sure how they should be formatted? (As you can tell I'm not familiar with this kind of stuff) Do you think it's my host? -but from what I hear 000webhost does fully support flash. Or do you think it's purly how I programmed it in as?
The way the website works is that the base.swf loads the caro.swf. The caro.swf's doc class is CaroClass.as. The flash makes use of some custom classes that are in the class folders. The class called 'Obj' is an image holder movieclip that loads an image off the web into itself: These make up the carousel. There is also one class that is supposed to load a higher resolution of images when you click on one of the Obj's, and also show a description. The image url's, captions and descriptions are held in an xml document which is loaded by the caro.swf at the start. Just go to the webpage and click on the CaroData.xml for the XML.
When I use the function loadVariables to load a .txt file into a text field (dynamically) [ by placing the action on the first frame] it works perfectly if I run (Test Movie) it from flash, but it doesn't load on the website when the site first loads. However when I click a button which has the same code (loadVariables) to load the text it works on the website.

View 3 RepliesHow can i make a MovieClip object drag able by the mouse? If i have two MovieClip instances, is it possible to make a new shape/MovieClip objects in that looks like a line and which will connect then? I have functions checking if the 'nodes' movie clip instances collide with the 'line' movie clip instances, now these all are different functions and conditional, but is it possible to check if ALL of them are true?
View 2 RepliesI recently came across a small business site that had a homepage with there logo and some basic nav in the center with the business logoBut there entire background had a moving flash background made up of photos in the shape of words, that when you moved your mouse to the left, the background would move to the right, up and it would go down and so on as if it followed your mouse but inverted.
View 3 RepliesHere's my problem. I currently have a Flash banner on my website that displays artwork I have made. However, it currently just shows jpegs that are embedded into the Flash file. Is there a way that I can set up a directory in my domain and just have the flash file pull these external images, at random to display? Also, it should be noted that it shouldn't pull the same image twice. That would look silly I would make the files all the correct resolution and size, so resizing is not an issue. I know you can do this sort of thing with javascript, but I want more control and a more stylish appearance.
View 1 RepliesI would like to know if you could tell me how to mke a full website Flash XML? what i need to do? I'm beginner and i need to learn it ASAP!
View 1 RepliesI previously had all those images in the library. They were attached to a father clip with attachMovie(), and next they were placed and resized somewhere on the stage. Everything was correct.So, in order to create a lighter SWF, I decided to do external loads. I need these clips to be resized and placed once they're on the stage. I thought loadMovie() wouldn't be a good option because the resize would happen before the clips were loaded, and so they wouldn't be resized. So I thought of using the MovieClipLoader class, with its loadClip() method in order to load every image into empty movie clips, and perform the resize inside the onLoadComplete event handler.
View 2 RepliesI have made this very simple slideshow which loads images via a XML file. Everything works fine locally, the images load nice slideshow. But the problems start when I load it up to my server, once it is uploaded and I try t o play it I get this error:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed.
It has something to do with the .xml file which I load in AS here:
var request_xml:URLRequest=new URLRequest("setup.xml");
I tried to replace it with ("") but then I got a sandbox violation error which is not solvable unless you get it signed (I read that somewhere). The way I load images in XML:
<SLIDE_SHOW>
<PICTURE>ImagesBw/Foto1.JPG</PICTURE>
...
</SLIDE_SHOW>

I've got an upload button I've made in Flash that links to a PHP script and I was wondering if there was any way I could convert all the images to PNGs as the user uploads them?
<?php
if (move_uploaded_file($_FILES['Filedata']['tmp_name'],
"Parts/userdata/" . $_FILES['Filedata']['name']))

I am creating a website where people can upload images to my server.
These are then downloaded by a seperate flash file.
Is it better to resize the images using Flash or PHP?
I have tried a php resize script, but the images seem to lose quite a lot of thier quality.
Where as flash it looks a bit better, when I just resize them using _xscale
Also I have the problem, it would be nice it people could upload whatever size (memory or dimensions) image they want then php resizes it and it's all good.
As in Flash I may have to be downloading huge image size, which slow down the transfer..
However I don't want to lose the images quality and I suck at PHP but I'm okay in AS.
I am making a site for a client and he requires an editable form. It would need at least 10 editable text boxes and then I would need to have a way to save it and publish it to the website. (The client would be the only one editing so I don't really know what to do as he doesn't have any of the Adobe tools used to edit the site)
1) How do I make an editable form?
2) After the site is finished my client will need to keep adding things, is this possibe or will he have to send the files to me and haveme edit the site myself?
3) How do I make it so my client will be the only one who can edit this?
I just uploaded my exported swf to the site for the first time and it's running the movie but, either not reading the xml file or reading the xml and not loading the images.
View 1 RepliesThe user uploads an image. After uploading is complete the image is displayed the screen. The user can select a particular pixel on the image. Accordingly the image should be removed of that color and made transparent. 1. i tried the getpixel and setpixel32 the image still is very blurr. 2. i also tried threshold its also of the same result - not able to see how to make the output of the image more crisp.

View 2 RepliesI have multiple angle images of an object and I want the result to be the same as the link here. I don't know flash at all but it seems like there would be a simple program (even if I have to pay) that allows me to import the images, set the rotation speed and other settings and then hit export to .flv file or something. Does anyone know of a program to do this, or a simple method?
View 3 RepliesI made a movie clip with infinite loop in which there are images that move from right to left something simple like a marquee, and each image has a blank space between them, but between last and first image there is a more space, how I can do to make all images have an equal space between each one and that the motion never stops.
View 5 RepliesI have recently updated my websiteand added Flash to the home page and in all of my portfolio galleries. View 1 RepliesHave a website with 2 small pieces of flash - they play when I click PLAY in dreamweaver but won't play when I use preview or when I uploaded the actual site.There should be a spider going up and down a web beside the signpost and an image in the picture frame.

I am working on an AS3 file for one of my webpages, in Flash it is 660 x 2800 pixels in size, which is relatively large, and to view the entire file contents i need to have a zoom level of 40%! Once publish as an SWF file and uploaded to my webpage, the file appears very small!! I expand the file to as large as possible on the webpage and the file still appears undersized. Obviously I wish it to fill the whole content area.
View 1 Repliesiv been having this problem with swf file iv created, it consist of images somewhat like a gallery. when played offline it works smoothly, navigating frame to frame / image by image. iv used AS3 to compose the animations in my flash file. now my problem is when its uploaded online, the swf is shown but once iv clicked on a link to proceed on showing the gallery it lags and continously loop when it should actualy stop on a frame and wait till the next button is clicked to procced to the next image. plus the animation iv added in doesn't seem to working at all.
View 1 RepliesI am new to flash and trying to make a simple flash website video intro in Flash CS5 Pro.I have a flv viedo on the stage, under an image with a trasnparent center.I have the video on the bottom layer, the overlay image on the middle layer, and the top layer is my AS layer (AS3).
The video is currently autoplaying when i export.All i want is for it to open my website in the same window as the intro played when the video ends.I dont need a "skip intro button" or anything.I just want it to play the intro when you go to my site, and then bring up the index page of my site after it plays.
I will have three seperate pages for the motion tween, mask effect and shape tween... would you make the seperately, in a different scene, as a symbol or on the same scene with the website.
View 2 RepliesI'm working with a video in Flash where I am capturing each frame and testing the color of a single pixel. I'm using it to determine when a white/transparent background changes to be a color. The following AS2 code works flawlessly when I preview it in Flash and on my desktop in the browser (the direct SWF and placed inside HTML using SWFObject) but as soon as I upload it to my server it fails and produces "FFFFFF" continuously regardless.
this.onEnterFrame = function()
..........
There is no difference in the files; they are both pulling from the same video source (hosted on an Flash FLV server).The only difference is one set of files is hosted on my local computer and the other is hosted on my web server.
Is there a way to display a website inside your Flash website?
Looking for something similar to HTML inline frames
