I made a video player with a playlist. After around 45 min the sound stops! The video continues playing. I play short clips (about 3 to 4 min each). The player is based on 2 frames: Frame 1 defines the variable VidReference with the filename:
[CODE]...
Once the video is done playing it goes to Frame 1 (to put the new value to the VidReference variable) and goes back to frame 2 to play the new video. Am I supposed to delete the video object each time it loads a new video? Am I actually declaring a new video object each time I'm looping (frame 1 > 2) and adding each video to the RAM, and in the end overwhelming the flash player? I've heard about garbage collecting but I wouldn't know how to delete the video object so it is cleared (and the video itself too) from the memory. When I check System.totalMemory it's adding up each time a new video is loaded, I can't figure out how to delete old videos from the memory.
I have an old project in AS2 with a video player that plays mp4s. I've noticed that FF tends to continue to eat up memory even after the video has stopped or has finished loading. I also am noticing jerky playback which I think has something to do with the memory leak.
ActionScript Code: var server_nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); server_nc.connect(null);
I'm trying to realize kind of a slideshow in flash, which loops over about 100 h.264 encoded movies. I'm using the NetConnection and NetStream classes for connecting to the files locally on my harddisk (see code below).
private function playMovie():void { var currentMovie:String = movies[index];
I'm quite confused on what differences there can be between different versions of the flash player. Since I started coding my last game I've been testing it on chrome and firefox with good results (flash player 10.3.xxx). The memory needed to run it is always around 20 MB and also the cpu usage is pretty low. Also with the player 11 beta on ie the memory needed is around 50 Mb. But when i try to test it on the flash player 10 something is not working, the memory used by the game keeps growing and the garbage collection seems to be in holiday. Can this be related to the fact i'm coding it with the last cs5 (in as2)? Or since it's a board game i needed some listeners that could create this problem?
I'm having real problems with unloading external SWFs, I've spent 2 days looking for a solution and looking at this forum and using the code supplied and Flash help files and much much reading and trying, I still cannot achieve the desired results.I have a Menu.swf which hosts many buttons which loads External SWFs ... simple enough and fairly common. These External SWFs are the same size as the menu and so loads completely over the top of Menu.swf which is exactly what I want to happen.I have a button on these External SWFs which I want to, delete the External SWF from the Flash player's memory and remove all event listeners (which I guess will happen if the External SWF is deleted from memory)The reason why I want it to remove the movie completely from memory is that I have 18 items and by the time it loads the 18th item, the player is going slower then trying to swim in hummous.[code]
I have 3-4 3 sec flv files and I need to play them multiple times I dont want to import the flv's and I cant load them dynamically everytime. can I load them at the beginning of my swf ONCE and play it anytime I want ?
I have a 180mb SWF which is a lecture from one of my online classes, when i try to watch it i can watch about 20 minutes and then it will run out of memory. I watched in my task manager as Flash player went from only using 20mb to upwards of 500mb to 1000mb and it kept going up, it's like the more i watch it just keeps going up and up. Tried it on 3 different computers and still get the same problem, is there some reason this would be happening? Why does flash player eat up so much memory? I have Adobe Flash CS4 installed so it's playing through the player not a web browser or anything. (tried it in web browser and it does the same thing)
completely remove the child of clip at 0 index? I read somewhere you should set to null to all the references to that clip, but I have no other reference in my code. The clip at 0 was added via a regular addChild().
My problem is going to be hard to outlay in detail due to NDA's I am bound to, but the gist is this..I have a swf application the progressively streams content from a cdn edge server.I have built a video player class and instantiate a new one for each new piece of footage I find.Naturally this requires good memory management to ensure no leaks..... and herein lies the problem (surprise).
I have unregistered all my event listeners (not using weak at present) and nulled all objects from my media player object.I slice it from my list and call a destroy method that cleans up all objects setting references to null. Once this is done I call System.gc().My profiling tools are showing that my memory usage is continuing to increase linearly for each new video clip. The jump is about 5mb each time the approx size of each video file.
Is the built in "Video" component on the stage (players all share the same one) a built in type?
I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.
I'm trying to get a video (flv) or an swf video player to work on Facebook walls, however no matter what I do - facebook posts the raw fbml and ignores the code.
i want to know if it is possible to play a video via flash player, when the video is located on different server's mysql. for example: i want to play video on [URL] which(video) is located in [URL] mysql
I was wondering how I can delay (2 seconds) a video to play in a Flash Video Player? I know one way is for me to add blank frames but I would like to know some other options.
With the Flash Player that comes with CS3 and on my PC XP Pro laptop.I want the player controls to appear at the _bottom_ of the video not on top of the video and not under (behind) the video.
- my video is 640 x 480 - so I modified the "properties" tab at the bottom of the screen to 640x480... (it was 550x400) - but that just makes everything larger when I click File > Publish - and then look at the video in Internet Explorer... the Player Controls are still _On Top_ of the video.
I guess I need to learn how to
- Make the stage bigger - Position the Player controls below the actual video
I want to play smooth streaming video from IIS using the flash video player like e.g. jw flash player instead of silverlight player?Which video format should I use in this case? Can flash then play e.g a video via smooth streming encoded with microsoft encoder?Do you know some alternative video players, that combines flash and silverlight functionality (selected per java script) to use with flash and silverlight?
We have developed flash video player which needs to playe large videos (at least 500 MB videos). We have some issues in the player right now.I am playing a 100 MB + video, it start playing and say it is buffering upto 50% of that video. Then I am closing that page. If I take that video again, it starts downloading from beginning. It never resume downloading from where it buffered previous time. But for small video files, this is looking ok. Is there any size limit a video player can buffer? Is there any better way to play large videos (more than 500 MB). Any other protocol or any other settings in flash player?
We have an ordinary video player built for Adobe Flash Player that streams a video file and plays it on a browser. However some of the video files aren't clear enough that we need additional video filters like sharpness filter while the others may require contrast filter or hue and tint filter due to its color balance.
The question is, is there any feature that are provided by Flash Player's core video component to apply those kind of filters on the fly at client-side?
I want to play FLV video in a flash video player, and at the end of the buffering I want to access the data (video data, or buffered file) so I can manipulate it. For exemple in a ByteArray format so I can save it to local disk... With the NetStream and NetConnection I can play the video without problem, but I can't find a way to access the data. using the URLStream, I can download the video file [URL], and I can access the data I want but I can't play it?
Is there a way to play the URLStream, or to get data from the NetStream?
Or may be, I can access the cache of the browser to get the bufferd data played by NetStream?
I need to add a video player to play a video on a webpage. usually i use Flash player with the help of swfobject library. which works if flash player and javascript both are enabled.
I'm currently using XHTML 1.0 strict doctype. My question is can i just change my doctype to HTML 5 doctype and add Video player using HTML 5 video. for browser which do not support HTML5 i can a a javascript.
in this condition in supported browser Video will work without Flash player and javascript and in non-supported browser will work with js support.
I need a flash video player for our public site where users will share videos. The video usage model is similar to youtube as far as video part is concerned.Users will upload and share videos. Users will browse and play all shared videos as well. The videos will be streamed from the server and our app is a .NET/C#/JQuery application. We have 3 options:
1) Either buy a commercial flash player
2) Customize a open source player or use free player and customize its gui
3) Develop our own (time consuming and last resort)
I am required to find a flash video player with these requirements:
Player should work in all major browsers (IE, FF, Chrome, Safari)
Player should have way to inject Advertisement clips when playing a video file
Light weight and easy to integrate
Must support streaming and scale
Plus all other basic features of a flash video player.

check out the profiler in flash builder. I need to get rid of the as3 youtube swf.Only about 20% of the memory is being released.Just copy and paste the code below into the main mxml file in a new flex project.[code]
I am building a website that has a separate .swf for each page of the site. Each page is loaded into shell_mc using loadMovie. When a new page loads, I run shell_mc.unloadMovie before calling shell_mc.loadMovie(newPage). I am just wondering if the unloadMovie command will destroy everything in the current page that might take up memory before it begins loading a new page.
i have a pb of memory leak:i using flash.media.video to read video i have function to do frame by frame:FrameBuffer is an Array containing my video frame, lastimg is Bitmap object
Is this at all possible? I just finished re-building my entire portfolio site in AS3 because I can't change the frame rate for loaded content in AS2. Now I find out after completely rebuilding this thing that AS2 content gets stuck in Flash Player 9's memory and won't erase on Loader.unload. All my work from years back is in AS2.
I have designed a site with a looping MP3 and video.
Problem is that the memory consumption of the Flash plugin goes up about 40mb every minute, and the site 'crashes' after a while. I would have thought that a single entity, that loops, would not have to re-load into memory, but this is what seems to be happening.
The looping video is approximately 800kb, and the MP3 is approximately 400kb.
I'm using the code below for loading my flvs. What kind of function and parameters are needed to make sure the video is cleared from memory? In order to stop the sound, I'm using SounMixer.stopAll() which works fine to stop the sound, but when I unload the video and stop the sound, I can see that memory is still being consumed. I've been reading about nulling a netstream, but since I'm loading my flvs locally for this project, how do you ensure that the video is fully unloaded from memory when not using a netstream? This example dynamically creates an FLVPlayback instance. To run the example, follow these steps.
1.Place the FLVPlayback component on the Stage at 0,0 and provide the instance name player.2.Replace videoPath with an absolute or relative path to an FLV file.3.Save this code as FLVPlaybackExample.as in the same directory as your FLA file.4.Set the Document class in the FLA file to FLVPlaybackExample.
