I have been working on a flex uploader, where the user can select multiple files.It works fine when the files are uploaded in a queue (one at a time), however as soon as I try to have it upload 2 files at once I run into issues.

It seems that files will often lock up, and either stay at 1% until every other file is uploaded, or just not complete at all. There is never more than one file uploading at a time.Is there some issue with calling .upload on multiple files at once in Flex?

Flex :: Multiple Simultaneously MultiTouchGesture Events In Flash (AIR)

I have created an AIR application that makes use of Flash' build in capability of taking multi touch gestures (TransformGestureEvent.GESTURE_ZOOM & TransformGestureEvent.GESTURE_ROTATE)

It works fine on my Mac using the computers trackpad. It also works fine on a Windows 7 machine with a touchscreen attached.

But I can only modify one object at a time. Is that a limitation in Flash or is it possible to modify more objects at the same time and that way possible to make a multi-user multi-touch application?

Flash :: Drag Two Movieclips (on Separate Layers) Simultaneously

My goal is to have a map that I can drag around within the frame of a webpage. Finding the right code to move the map in a restricted frame wasn't too easy but I managed to find that (which works like a charm):

zoom3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, dragArea);
zoom3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, dropArea);

Now the catch is that I'd like the map to be dragged simultaneously with a movieclip situated above, that contains names of regions, cities etc.. Both can't be on the same layer as I need to put a layer of texture in between.

Is there a simple way to link both layers and make them move at once?

I was given at work. I will list the details of the project below:Create a Flash presentation that a user (on a browser) could press a button and navigate through scrolling objects. Upon hovering over the object information will pop up in a info bubble. Also upon hovering over an object, the table and gauge to the side will also change in proportion to the object hovered over.Here is what I have done so far and what I can't figure out:

-Anchored background - done
-Objects slide across the screen (no interaction) -done --->I just made them motion tweens though which I've found are rather hard to work with becuase I can't manipulate them well with actionscript.
-User able to control the sliding objects (through arrows/keyboard events) - not done
-Table/guage changes on the hovering over of the object - not done
-Information pops up on the hovering over of an object - not done

Right now I am having trouble with making the user be able to make all the objects slide across the screen at the same time with ONE button click. I can make it so that when you click the object it slides over however man pixels, but what i want is that the uder clicks an arrow and all of the objects slide over x amount of pixels.

Everything seems to be a string right now & that kinda ruins the whole xml as an internal data structure thing, I don't need a big tree of string I need typed data :-/ Are there any changes I can make to either my XML files or my AS3 code that will force it to cast ints as ints and Numbers as Numbers? Or maybe some kind of type schema I can impose? Not really worked with XML til recently so chances are I'm just ignorant of the canonical way to deal with this...

I'm trying to attach a single NetStream Object to two separate Video objects instead of pulling redundant streams from the server. The expected behavior would be for both Video's to display the same content. However, it seems that the last video I attach the NetStream to is the only Video that will display the content.Has anyone else run into this? I'd rather not go to the inelegant steps of using BitmapData to clone pixels if I don't have to.

I have two movieclips on the same frame but on different layers located within the movieclip. The first movieclip plays just fine. However, the second one isn't going ahead even a single frame. The code that I have mentioned below is located withing the second movieclip containing background image. And I think this code is causing the issue because when I remove this it plays perfectly fine. The function of this code is to automatically re-size background image with the browser dimensions. The whole code just worked fine on the main timeline.However, when I shifted it inside a movieclip its causing an issue.

how to do this and not found much, so here goes:

I want to generate a variable number of random numbers less than 16 with no duplicate numbers

Ive posted the fla, and what i'm doing is generating a random number and putting it into an array then using a for loop to cycle through the array for each new random number to check if its already there. if it is, then i want to regenerate that number.

if you test the fla you'll see that all i get in my array is some lovely zero's and i sort of know why this is, but don't know how to stop it.

But it is not able to convert correctly as the the var res now has the value 100000000000000000. I know that the number has 52 bits of memory, then why is it not able to do the conversion?

create a function that picks out X amount of numbers from a set of numbers? So if X=3, then i need this function to pick out 3 different numbers from say a set of numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) and then stored it into X number of variables.

In saying that, X will only =2, and =5. So in the first instance, i'll need 2 random numbers from the set above that are not the same numbers, and second instance 5 random numbers from the set above (also no repeats of numbers). Then i need to be able to store those 2 or 5 different random numbers from the set into variables to call them with other functions.

IDE :: Playing FLV And SWF Simultaneously

I have a 'master' SWF file that calls in about 6 external .SWF containing graphics. This 'master' also pulls in external .FLVs (some that are video+audio, some that are audio-only) and makes the file the contentPath of my FLVPlayback component. On some of my Point of Interest buttons (numbered buttons that direct the user to view content), both FLV and SWF are being called. Locally (on my own computer), the videos sync together perfectly (graphics changing to match the audio description). But when i test the presentation on a 'testing server' (i.e. the internet) There is a pronounced lag between the SWF and FLV.

My question is: How do I code the AS2 to NOT play either the FLV or the SWF until BOTH have loaded completely? I'm looking for ideas and pseudo-code right now to point me in the right direction. I'm leaning in the direction of an event listener coupled with getBytesLoaded and getBytesTotal. Probably simple as an if statement with a listener and getBytes function?

I would like to make a small player where two sounds* can be compared.

- PLAY and CHANGE buttons

- On pressing PLAY button, two sounds (Sound-A and Sound-B for example) should play simultaneously (at the same time).

- While those two sounds play, Sound-B should be MUTED and Sound-A should be hear.

- On pressing CHANGE button, the situation changes: Sound-A is muted and Sound-B can be hear. And vice-versa.

*two sounds: both songs are the same, but one of them is remastered

I have 2 buttons.There is a MOUSE_OUT event for button 1 and a MOUSE_OVER event button 2.The buttons are right next to each other.Each event leads to a different frame.When the mouse moves from button 1 to button 2, both events get fired, first MOUSE_OUT and then MOUSE_OVER - but the MOUSE_OVER event cuts off the MOUSE_OUT event and doesn't give it a chance to fully execute. To be more clear, for each event, a function is called which has "gotoAndPlay(x)"(x is some different frame number for each)The gotoAndPlay() will go to lets say frame 437 and play exactly 2 frames.But when MOUSE_OVER is fired and it calls my function, it calls the gotoAndPlay() BUT it doesn't get to play the 2 frames.It gets cut off because the MOUSE_OUT gets fired which calls a function which then calls gotoAndPlay() and plays a different 2 frames. How can I allow the first 2 frames to fully play and then the last 2 frames?

In a custom queue, there's a push() and a pop() function. The pop() may be called any time on an Event.COMPLETE, so does this mean that code can be running in push() and pop() simultaneously? If so, is there a way to prevent the code from being run in both functions at the same time?

What I'm trying to do is the following: I have a main movie (which i'll call for now movie1.swf). I load a movie on Scene2, on level1 (which I'll call movie2.swf). So what I want to do, is to be able to whenever i click on a specific button (which I can place either on movie1.swf or movie2.swf, depending on recomendation), and gotoandplay to a specific frame label on movie2.swf, and gotoandplay a specific frame label on movie1.swf. Is this possible?

I am creating a flash "video jockey" station. I have 9 videos that are different parts of a song. Each video is loaded upon the loading of the swf with a volume of 0 . When the buttons given are pressed, they unmute and expose the video. I have it set to a 36 second loop. I have coded in a rewind for each video. When I export it for html, the rewind and play no longer matches up. I feel like there may be a simpler way to code what I am doing, and a way to say that all videos should match up based on their location within their 36 second play time. I have included the actionscript3 I have written for two of the videos. Imagine this with 9 total videos and background music all having the same rewind function.
