Actionscript 3 :: Flex Button With One Color On Left & Another On Right?
Oct 20, 2009
I have a Flex button. I need one color on the left and another on the right. I don't need it to be a gradient. Just solid colors. Like green on left & red on right. I really don't want to use an image -- just because it'll probably take me a long time to do it.The gradients via Flex Properties in Flex Builder seems to apply only vertically, not horizontally.I also tried to make 2 button, each half width (of original), and putting it into a HBox & really packing them close so they'll look like a single button with 2 colors. It works OK, but I was thinking if there was a better way.
I have a button with an icon. I want to have the button in gray so I change the chromeColor but when I do that, the icon became darker. On the left the button without changing the color, on the right, the gray button with and darker icon. How can I have a gray button without changing the icon color?
i hav a left right moving thumbnail gallery from xml, i need that on the last image image come on focus from the left side so automatically the left button will be disable or opacity goes 0 anything and same thing from right side also.
So what I want is the ToggleSwitch on the left and a Button on the right. When the Screen is too small, I want the Button to get smaller and show some "...". So I used:
looking to create an image/mc slider that moves form right to left via user clicks of a left and right button.I would assume I would create an array to hold a series of mc's in (my images) and then tell the left and right buttons CLICK events to move linearly through the array (displaying next in line and previous etc.
My DateChooser code and its style code is shown below: <mx:DateChooser id="dc" cornerRadius="0" bottom="0" width="100%" allowMultipleSelection="true" allowDisjointSelection="false" styleName="dateChooserGradient" change="fetchDateAgenda(dc.selectedDate)"/>
And the dateChooserGradient: .dateChooserGradient { header-colors: #133c59, #29506c; todayStyleName: myTodayStyleName; headerStyleName: myHeaderStyleName; weekDayStyleName: myWeekDayStyleName; dropShadowEnabled: false; arrowBorderThickness:2; arrowColor: #062338; arrowAlpha: 0.1; } What I actually want for my arrows is a transparent background, with borderthickness to be 2, and the arrows and bordercolor to be #062338. Also if I can make the width and height of the arrow itself a bit bigger then what it is as default.
I've some components with dynamic heights. They have to be aligned with respect to the bottom of my canvas container, so I cannot set the same y for all components.
I could compute their heights and successively set the y but I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it.
Is it possible? Or do I need to use Skin architecture? I can't found the property border color, so I think I need to create a entire skin customized? Or are there the property accessible by css?
backgroundColor doesn't seem to be the correct CSS property for MX Button's background color. Looking at the Flex API docs, I tried fillColors but that didn't do anything.
Is it possible to change mx.controls.Button's background color using CSS?
I was able to set the text color of a selected LinkBar button by "disabledColor" style of LinkBar.Accordingly, I expect to set the background color of the selected button by "backgroundDisabledColor" style, however, it didn't work; and except "backgroundDisabledColor", I didn't see any other style that could possibly achieve this.
What is the easiest way to change the background color of a toggle button when it is selected?I've tried creating a custom skin for the button and applying it to the downSkin property, but I can't figure out how to change the background color from within the skin. Also I'd like to avoid using an image as a background if possible.
I am having this issue with Flash CS5 Mac version:After making an animation, I export movie as Quicktime. When I view this movie, the animation leaves trails of color when an object moves across the screen, leaving behind little bits of color too. This does not happen when I export a SWF, but it does happen when I export a Quicktime movie. I export using Quicktime, so I can then I can export it into a flv in Adone media encorder. Why does this happen?
I have a button in my application and I want it to respond a bit in a special way. Initially the label color of the button is White, I want the color of the text to change to 50% white on the Over State and to 25% on the Down state. Is this possible?
I tried an alternative way using css which does not do the percentage stuff but only changes the color (see css code below), but this does not seem to work. I more specifically want the color to change in terms of percentage like I mentioned above.
Note that I am using the Skin file only to loads images for each state on the button.
I want to do as follows: * click a "red" button write in textarea with red color font click "blue" button * write in textarea with blue color font Isn't this possible in flash 10 using AS3 I tried using setTextFormat but the problem is i have to have text before inserting format on that.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction with this. Instead of creating a button and nesting movie clips for each state, I'm trying to script an animated button of a square (no fill) where on rollover the stroke color changes from one color to another (tweening the tint). I want to do this to the button symbol so it's the same for all instances. Is this possible or do I have to go the button > nested MC route? Sorry if this is lame...it's been awhile since I've used Flash and I've forgotten quite a bit.
What I am trying to do is to have the button color change to a different color when it is on the page. The color only changes when I roll over it or hit it. Once I am on the page it changes back to the color it is on the up state.
I have a MC, which i would like to act as a button, controlled by AS. So,inside the MC is a simple animation (the button just goes left for ten frames (preferred rollOver action) and then back for another ten (preferred rollOut action). On the MC actions I put:
on (rollOver) { this.useHandCursor; this.gotoAndPlay(1);[code].......
What happens is the following: on mouse over the mc goes left, on mouse out the mc goes back to its original place. It works exactly as it is supposed to. Exactly until you try again... if you move the mouse away from the mc (onRollOut), before the animation reaches the end, it goes bezerk.what happens and also how the animation can be done using only AS (with some for loop or function or something and chaning _x property)?
What I am trying to do is to have the button color change to a different color when it is on the page. The color only changes when I roll over it or hit it.Once I am on the page it changes back to the color it is on the up state.[URL] (When you are on the home page the button is red, but when on the about page the home button changes to white to show hierarchy.)
I have an image and i want to remove white color from image. That removing color is same like its background color. If anybody have any idea of this problem please answer? And my application in Flex 3 so please send me action script code of this problem.
This is my first post here and it my be a hard one to understand? Overview I have four buttons on the main stage (info) (help) (bio) (main) When you Rollover a button it fades to another color/when you rollout it fades back to the original color I have a script that does the color change because I do not want to use motion tweens. Here is what I did I made a 2 frame MC named infoMC In the 1st frame of the MC I made the word (info) a nested MC and attached the color change code to it. The 2nd frame of the MC Is the same as the 1st frame but I revesed the color change
If I have say 7 buttons, each containing text that changes color on rollover using the "Up" "Over" and "Down" keyframes in the buttons' timeline. Is there a simple way to get the button's text to change color when clicked, stay that way, and then change back to the original color once one of the other 6 buttons are clicked?
The only thing I can come up with is writing pages of code for each button that changes the color of every other button regardless of whether it was active.
I have an issue working with the setStyle() on the modalTransprancyColor property. The module did not run on different variations of hexadecimal code, only one that seems to work is 0xDDDDDD. Anything else, this line of code will crash Flash.
im trying to get a movieclip to move by pushing either the left or right button, and then when the enter button is pushed i want the mc to keep moving but it seems to stay still. this is what ive got so far:
ActionScript Code: mcBoat.onEnterFrame = function() { if (Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT) )
[Code].....
it keeps moving if the enter button is pushed and then pushing an arrow key but not the other way.
I'm trying to achieve the same effect as the carousel on this site: [URL]. Only different thing I'm trying to do is not have it auto scroll, but to have a left and right button. I have tried using the Carousel 3 tutorial and modifying the code but I keep running into problems and I am a little lost getting the blur effect going and getting the z-index (ie items get smaller as they rotate to the back similar to the example above).
I am not sure if i am going at this the right way but here goes...i have a set of 5 images and im doing a simple tween animation where they scroll to the right and loop seamlessly. now i want the animation to go in reverse (left) if i mouse over a button. the animation and code work perfect but once it reaches the end of the timeline (in reverse) it stops and if i put a gotoAndPlay on that frame, flash freaks out and crashes. here is my code for the reverse button:
