In common case, we keep the token of a remote method call, Flex -> Java for example. But, if the client know that the current call is not needed anymore, how stopping the server processing ?
With an asyncToken, is it possible to stop a remote call ?

I was making multiple remote calls and they are done sequentially and when I am getting a result event back it's triggering calls to all the methods with ResultEvent as an argument . I am supposed to receive the result event only in the method given inthe event listener but it's triggering calls to all the methods with ResultEvent as an argument.
View 1 RepliesMy Flex application does a remote call to weborb to save some data from Flex. When this data is saved, a service is called on another server. All this time Flex is waiting for an answer. Is it possible to call this service (on the other server) and not wait for an answer. I have tried to call the service asynchronous but all this does is calling the service in a different thread. Flex still has to wait for both threads to be finished... So when the data is saved, flex should get its answer. (while the thread handling the service is still running).
View 2 RepliesI am using RemoteObjects to call ZendAMF PHP from Flex/Flash Builder 4.6. I want to stop or abort a method call before it sends the request to the server based on an event or similar.
I have a class where I create and store all the RemoteObjects - for example:
activityLogService = new RemoteObject("zend");
activityLogService.endpoint=endpointServer;
activityLogService.addEventListener(FaultEvent.FAULT,faultHandler);
Then later I can simply call this object:
remotingService.activityLogService .getRecords();
I am trying to find a way in my remotingService object to stop the request - and not send anything to the server - for example if some variables are not set properly.
I noticed there is an invoke event: activityLogService.addEventListener(InvokeEvent.INVOKE,invokeHandler);
However, I can not tell if that's going to stop things at the proper point, or if it's even possible to actually STOP the request - if so, how?

Therefore I was thinking it would be easy if I could somehow pull a remote bit of code off my separate server that the ad could execute. I have an Adobe AIR/FLEX app packaged as a native installer application running on the desktop. From there, I need to do the following:
a) stay in the "app:" application sandbox so I can load "file://" JPGs into my mx:HTML control
b) authenticate with my server (CAKEPHP) to get a valid CAKEPHP Session Cookie, and
c) securely GET/POST XHR requests from javascript.
Can I authenticate using something like OAUTH or Facebook Connect without losing the application sandbox? It seems if I redirect from my mx:HTML, I lose my local privileges.Can I authenticate with my server using a different sandbox (remote?) and safely pass the Session Cookie to my application sandbox? Are either of these methods safe against scripting attacks?
I'm having problems compiling applications with remote ant, something similar to this. However the flex compiler seems to have problems with this. When I run the same script on my local compiles everything without any problems but when I try the remote ant it fails without giving more information.

I get the alert popup (that is the loadComplete is called) but do not get any swf loaded, not able to view anything. What can be the problem, am I missing something or some security issue? I also tried the image control to load the swf. Moreover, the swf are pdf files converted to swf so can this be an issue of different frame rates between flash and flex ?

But my question is how do you do it in AIR since the client app does not know about the server file structure.
I must say that I am reaching the end of my tether with Flash Builder and Flex. Firstly, I have built this wonderful app that I want to start using but it is data driven meaning that when I built it, I created it on my localhost. The PHP scripts were generated from Flash Builder and I have edited them to make them more secure. I have all my services working 100% and I have this brilliant app, but I can only run it on localhost. I have done everything necessary and installed Zend Framework on both servers, I have configured Zend properly but I cannot work out how to change the mobile app to now read from my remote web server.To me this is useless as I want to be able to deploy this app to others to use when they are out and about. how to change it from looking at a localhost to looking to my remote web host?

View 5 RepliesOur flex project, which works fine in its current environment with coldfusion 7 single server. We moved this project to Coldfusion 8 multi server, and updated the remoteobject paths relative to the web root.
The error we now receive is

Now what the methods do is to print sth. when they are called, then wait 8 secs and print sth. after that. When clicking each button seperatly, it works, both methods are started in parallel. However, calling both method the same time, leaves one service to wait with its call while until the other is executing. How can I avoid that?

I can add the PHP data service in Flash Builder as a service hosted on localhost, but given that this will not be feasible when the application is deployed, will not work. I'm writing a communication system, using Actionscript 3 and C#. Flash is used to communicate with RTMP server and stream video and audio using RTMFP p2p, but the actual client logic is handled in C#.
What I want to be able to do, is allow users to share files between each other also using a direct p2p connection. I have got the RTMFP connection working but I need to access the IP address of the remote user so I can initiate a connection to send or receive files.
I looked at the Adobe docs but I can't see anything except how to access the farID.
Is there a way to get the IP of a RTMFP stream?
Since Flashbuilder does not support WCF over https, I am considering to use weborb remoting as alternative, but not really sure how flash is going to know weborb location, if they are sitting on different servers. Looked at destination, source fields, but not really find a field called url in remoteObject in Flex.
View 1 RepliesI have a need to validate a field against our database to verify unique-ness. The problem I seem to be having is that the validators doValidation() exits before we've heard back from database.
How can I have the validator wait to return its payload until after we've heard from the DB?
Or perhaps a better question might be (since I think the first question is impossible), how can I set this up differently, so that I don't need to wait, or so that the wait doesn't cause the validation to automaticallly return valid?

It seems to be working just fine except for the one or two fringe cases:It's bad design, but we use the same method name on two different destinations and they seem to conflict when they're called at the same time. Logging errors show a method assigned to one destination as being associated with another.

I create a simple login form, and when a submit a string via remote object it works fine. But when a try to use an Object its simple doesn't work. I am trying to upload the files to the remote server using PHP with Flex interface. If it's not localhost, it shows the security error. I have already put the crossdomain.xml in the tomcat web app root directory to allow all the domains. However, the security error is still shown when I tried to upload the file.
