Actionscript 3 :: Free Particle Engines That Can Render Effects Such As Smoke, Fire, Water Ripples, Waterfalls And More?
Jul 11, 2011
I'm looking for a free AS3 particle engine that can render effects such as smoke, fire, water ripples, waterfalls and more. I need something robust like Partigen 2.5, only available without licensing. So far I've found:
i always loves to create aura/particle effects in flash while creating some website, I always use after effect to create them, but it's a little heavy side.I was wondering is there any way to make it lighter in weight so it could faster the loading time?URL...
I need a compiled and ready-to-use Flash lib, which is able to draw in browser basic primitives (contours, points and labels, not just a charts), described in XML given to the script. It is desirable that the library had at least basic functionality for styling displayed objects: gradients, borders, basic animation, HTML markup. GPL and other free licenses are preferred.
I want to make such effect: draggable semi-transparent object (let's call it 'plastic strip') over window with arbitrary objects. Plastic strip should be turbid, i.e. it blurs content under it (not blurred itself). What's the best way to do that with PixelBender shader on Flex?
I have a particle generator class and I want to create a hitTestObject function on another object to check for any collisions with the particles produced.I bascially have a character already on the stage called character_mc and I want to be able to collect the particles, that means when the character touches a particle, the particle disappears.
Ive stumbled upon a few sites that have free sound FX's but the ones I want which I wuld think are the easiest to get I cant find.I want a sound for when someone clicks the right thing, like a under a sec tiriring or something like when you kill a guy in Leauge of Legends or something like that and also one for when you click the wrong thing like an windows warning ut a little different, yet all the sites and SFX I come across are for everything but those.
Is it possible to make this a mask? The system contains one movieclip of a circle called ball, also a class called ball and a class called particle. I want the particle system movieclips to display an image...I'm sure this is possible...just have not been able to find a way. A little backround, I'm a completely selftaught n00b when it comes to AS3, but I'm grasping it fairly well... the tutorial is on this website, called A Simple Particle System Using Actionscript 3.
I want to achieve smoke mask but it doesn't look realistic so I was wondering is it posible to do this.I have two images one black&white and the other one is color and with mask I reveal the color picture and for that I'm using mask ( best solution is something like smoke)
I found this effect in a google search, it looks great until it starts slowing down everything:this code is put in Frame one of a MovieClip.aPuff is a MovieClip of a gradient filled circle.
i have a problem with an animation i'm trying to do: i am searching for a way to animate chimney smoke. i don't want to make a realistic chimaney smoke, rather a cartoon type.here is a picture with the chimney and the smoke...http:[url]....
can the flowing of that smoke be animated through as3, or should it just be plain animation in flash? with shape tweening it got rather strange at some point. im not specialized in doing animation (like cartoons animation) and im havin difficulties identifying the shapes the smoke should have as it goes from the chimney up into the sky.
how to make realistic smoke / fog. All the tutorials I have seen are ok, but not exactly what I am looking for. I want to know how to make the smoke look like its reacting to the resistance of air thus changing the shape of the smoke as it moves and what not. [URL]Notice how the smoke is going down and also to the right. The smoke moving downward even reacts to the flow stream of the one going to the right and slightly alters its movement ( as if it was hitting a current in water ).
I'm trying to convert some actionscript 2.0 to actionscript 3.0. It's part of a smoke animation. I have it working perfectly using the actionscript 2.0 that was supplied, but have no idea how to get it to 3.0. Here's the original code:
fadeSpeed = 1.15; // Smoke fade speed. floatUpSpeed = 1.75; // Smoke float up speed. // Every frame attach a puff of smoke.
I'm trying to create a smoke effect that will run in background of a microsite portal. I needs to be pretty big compared to the use we see everywhere of particle smoke effects usign PNG or flash 8 filters. Here's what I came with so far playing with some flash 8 filters but the solution still doesn't perform well enough, especially when we add the other div layers over the animation. I car emore about style that realism, that's why I like this approach, witch let me used a prerendered image for my smoke textureAnyone have some techniques or approach to suggest that could make this project possible? The way it is right now, almost no computer will be able to run it at a decent framerate.
I have two layers, one on the bottom (the background) with some buttons on it. The second one, on top, is a movieclip of some smoke that is passing over the background... (to still see the background, I set the smoke layer to Screen - blending mode). So now I can see both layers. but of course the buttons dont work anymore because of the layer that is on top... Now, the question is, how can I disable the smoke layer to access to the buttons? There is a way to do that?
I made a site for a client which gets all its content from XML file. Now, when googling for keywords, client finds XML file, not the SWF file and, obviously, not containing it HTML file
I am currently digging into the whole Flash 3D stuff and I am quite unsure which engine I should use. I really prefer haXe for development but ActionScript 3 is also fine.My current candidates are:
Papervision3D Alternativa3D Sandy 3D (only engine with native haXe version) Away3D
I have always animated objects using an Enter Frame event (ie. slide it 5 pixels to the right every frame). I am seeing many companies I work at using the TweenLite tweening engine to animate objects. Is there some special magic these tweening engines do that makes them better? If I wanted to side a ball across the screen over a time span of 100 frames, would using an Enter Frame be any different than using the tween engine? Or would they have the exact same result?
I am kind of new to flash and I want my flash site to get the best results from search engines. So I found SWFOBJECT is this the way to go? Also how do I use it? Is there any learning videos out on the web.
What are the pros and cons of various Flash 3D engines with regards to performance on mobile devices? Which do you prefer -- which have you tried (examples of apps developed) implementing on mobile devices?
why flash player on MAC dosent handle well to many tweens at the same time, I tried using laco tween engine and MC Tween, so far this last is the best, but the performance is so bad on mac, why this happens?
Is there any clear view on how to build 3d apps in flash? I have heard of paperview(?) and recently saw something called Away3d. Are there any other choices and any clear leaders?
I'm looking for general recomendations and tutorials in regards to learning to integrate engines and library code into my projects. I think I have the very basics of AS3 sorted, or at least I know how to figure them out (alot due to this forum).
Can someone explain me why flash player on MAC dosen't handle well to many tweens at the same time, I tried using laco tween engine and MC Tween, so far this last is the best, but the performance is so bad on mac, why this happens?
When I was using Flash CS4, it published a HTML file that showed the text content of the movie, which made it easy for search engines to index the site. However, in Flash CS5.5, I notice it doesn't appear to do that anymore.
What do I do (step-by-step) to make my movie content visible to search engines?
