I have a shell swf that is loading a swf. How do you have the loaded swf tell the parent loader to unload itself after the loaded swf finishes playing?

I have a homepage with five "links" to each swf. Now the first swf I have a custom cursor that hides the mouse. When I click on that link it plays and when I quickly go to the homepage again it hides the mouse there when it's not supposed to do it.
Same with every other link. When I was busy with the first swf and want to go to the last swf of the five, my mouse just disappears! It is almost as if it keeps on "playing" without seeing the swf...
Here is the code that I have so far!
var currentpage:uint = 0;
//one loader object per project:
var loadingobject1:Loader = new Loader();
loadingobject1.x = 445;

I load a swf file into a loader first time aroundAs soon as this is loaded, it fires off a timer of every 15 secondsWhen the 15 seconds is over, it unloads the MC from the loaded and loads in a new MCThis happens four times before it starts at MC1 againEach one of these MC's have two frames. First frame has a stop action on it to prevent it from playing. Second frame also has a stop action on it but has the content it needs to showWhat is meant to happen is that as soon as the MC is loaded into my loader, the loader is toldloader_mc.gotoAndStop (2);When it is online though, this does not want to happen this way. It preloads the content, (I can see that) but it does not play this content when it is done loading. 15 seconds later it loads the next content and also does not load the content. It does this four time until it comes back to the beginning and only then does it play the content on the second round.

I have an application, that has a movieclip in it. I'm creating a loader, loading another SWF and appending it to that movieclip. This is working perfectly fine. However, in the child SWF, there are a couple sound clips in the library that fire at certain times. If you play the child SWF by itself, the sound clips fire just fine. When loaded into the movieclip, nothing is playing.

I'm using the following script to load external swf's in to a main swf, but when I simulate download, the sound of the external swf starts playing before it is completely loaded, i.e, when the percentage in the bandwidth profiler reaches about 60% the sound of the swf being loaded can be heard, and when the percent reaches 100, it continues playing and the content of the external swf are now visible.
var myLoader1:Loader = new Loader();
addChild(myLoader1);
var myRequest1:URLRequest = new URLRequest("myMovie.swf");
myLoader1.load(myRequest1);

I have an external transparent swf loading in to my movie. The swf has to be imported over a button element on stage. The swf plays for a few seconds than it appears to go off-stage... at which point I need to free up that button to be clicked.
So, I need to detect when that movie has finished playing and then unload.
My code so far.
Code:
import flash.net.URLRequest;
import flash.display.Loader;
import flash.events.Event;
import flash.events.ProgressEvent;

I'm building an application that's basically a frame in that another SWF file is displayed. My application loads SWF files generated by a server and displays them. As memory consumption increases over time, it it necessary that I unload the current SWF from time to time and replace it with a new SWF. I use SWFLoader to load the remote SWF file. I create a new SWFLoader object for each new SWF and remove the old SWFLoader as soon as the new SWF can be displayed. Now my problem: SWFLoader sporadically does not start playing the loaded SWF. All of the SWF files that I load start with the same set of instructions. When all goes well, the SWFLoader gets some ProgressEvents and then an Event.INIT. After that the SWF starts playing. In some cases, however, I only get the progress events, but the INIT is never fired. In that case the SWF doesn't start playing. The number of bytes received reported by the progress event is the same as in the case when it goes right.

I've been searching for this for a while, and either my google-fu is weak or there is no easy to find answer yet...
I am using a NetStream to stream a video file from anywhere. The NetStream is NOT connected to any server. Here is the code:
// Create new connection and stream
_netCon = new NetConnection();
_netCon.connect(null);
[Code]....
This basically works, of course, but the video always starts playing only when it is fully loaded. It also passes the metadata only then. But the main reason to use a NetStream is so that you can play a video BEFORE it is fully loaded.
I tried playing around with the bufferTime property, but to no avail. Also made sure that there is no caching involved when loading the video. I always load a "new one" by adding some "?bla=date" value behind the url.
Is it possible that the "real" streaming only works when really connected to a server? Or am I missing something else?

I'm trying to work out the best practices to determine a loaded swfs (via loadMovie()) total frames, then tell the swf file (parent) that has loaded the mentioned swf (child) to play that swf for its total frames. The reason being is that I want to make sure the loaded swfs (children) are played properly all the way through regardless of lag, processor slow down etc. I've got this working but using a setInterval loop which relys on a millisecond variable in an xml file. I want to replace this with an function that does the above.

I have recently updated to Flash CS4 and AS3 from Flash 8 - apart from one issue I have with the Sound Object. There seems to be a delay in the loaded MP3 playing when told to. This means that I am unable to add SFX to the game I am developing for a client, because the sound plays about 1-2 seconds after it is told to play. How to tee the Sound up, so that it plays immediately?
The process I am using is this:
Class defined to load all game assets defined in XML
All Sounds are loaded into their own Sound Object and a reference to each is held in an array and passed to the relevant Class (i.e. Player). The relevant Class tells the reference to the Sound to play - it plays, but 2 seconds after the collision detection Event has told the sound to play.

I'm trying to load external swf files and, using as3, have them play consecutively so the final product is a seamless animation. Below is the scripting I'm currently using to call and play the first scene, how do I make it go to the next one? All the material I've found on this is related to buttons and I'm not experienced enough with AS3 to adapt that to what I'm trying to do here.Here is the script I'm currently using...

I have created a flash cs4 file > I did some animation using 3d rotation tool > then im trying to load this file from another swf > and surprisingly I cant see any animation? I am loading the file using the given below code:
var Xpos:Number=0;
var Ypos:Number=0;
var swf:MovieClip;
var loader:Loader=new Loader();
var defaultSWF:URLRequest=new URLRequest("test-2.swf");
loader.load(defaultSWF);
loader.x=Xpos;
loader.y=Ypos;
addChild(loader);
In the above example "test2.swf" contains some animation using 3d rotation tool. Why its not showing any animation on load?

I'm building a quite large flash movie with hundreds of movieclips (with their own preloaders) with approx 150 frames in the _root timeline. But I've until now never been very confident with preloaders, and that is causing me hairloss.
Once the user enter the site, I want a preloader to come up, but I want to use actionscript to start playing frame 2 once frame 2 content is loaded, not start playing frame 2 once the WHOLE movie is loaded.
I use the below code for simple preloading with no feedback of progress, however it loads the whole movie before it start playback of frame 2:
if (_framesloaded>=_totalframes) {
gotoAndPlay (2);
} else {
gotoAndPlay (1);
}

Is there a way to make a if statement that only loads like 20% then it plays. I always used things that wait for the whole movie to be loaded. I just want to give a head start of 20% to the movie.

I have a problem with sounds in this movie. I have a sounds file that I would like to play as soon as the movie is loaded, but I dont want it to stream because I want to loop it and I want it to be done with AS. I saw a Tutorial where the sound would load as soon as the movie started but it wouldn't play until the play button was pressed. I want the song to play as soon as the sound is loaded. The Tutorial is Creating a Volume Control Silder. [URL]

Hi all,
I am loading an external .mp3 file into my movie using a dynamically created sound object:
var theMusic_sound:Sound = new Sound();
theMusic_sound.loadSound("sound/mylo.mp3", false);
theMusic_sound.onLoad = function(true) {
theMusic_sound.start(0, 5);
theMusic_sound.setVolume(25);
};
However I find that when I run the movie, the sound plays at a higher speed (chipmunk music!). The clip was one that I created myself, its a 48kbs mono .mp3 file
Also, I am having trouble making an MP3 that loops perfectly. I have trimmed the sound perfectly in Nero wave editor, but the encoding process appears to add a short pause at the start and end of the file, which produces an annoying gap in my loop.

In my project I have five video files that I need to all play simultaneously. I'd like the user to be unable to play them until they are fully loaded, because of course streaming would mean they wouldn't necessarily be playing at synchronized times any more.
So I need to load them all entirely, and have a single button that the user clicks to get them all to play simultaneously.

The preloader I usually use executes an addChild(loadedMovie)statement in response to an Event.COMPLETE event from the loaded swf's contentLoaderInfo object (a common approach, I believe.) The problem with this (as many of us know) is that the loaded swf starts running before the Event.COMPLETE event gets thrown, which means that once the child is added, it is already a few frames into its timeline. What I need is a way for the loaded swf not to start playing til its COMPLETE event gets thrown.
