Actionscript 3 :: SWF On A Server But Data On Another?

I need to host my full-Flash SWF site on "xx.com" server. But all graphics and sounds have to be loaded off "yy.com" server. Inside my AS3 code, all data is loaded by absolute addresses, e.g:[URL]..
If I run the swf locally, either from within the Flash authoring tool, or a local .html file, or by double-clicking the swf, it works fine. All data is downloaded from "yy.com" and the site displayed properly.
It WON'T work if I upload the swf on "xx.com" and load it off there.
I have created the following crossdomain.xml file

The result is quite strange : it seems to start loading 1-2 images off "yy.com", but then it halts. This behaviour happens with or without the crossdomain.xml file. Is what I am trying to do achievable in some way? My problem is that xx.com has very limited space so I can upload the swf and/or the html on it, but not the actual data (which is lots of MBs).

My rtmp client connects to the server ok and rtmp data flowing ok for about 4hours, in the wireshark trace I can see that the server just stops sending data roughly after 4hours. The server version is 3.5.1, and I also try it on a 4.0 server the data stops coming from the server as well after 5+hours. There are no errors or any indication of session disconneciton in the diagnostic logs. I have also looked thru the settings in applicaiton.xml and server.xml I just don't see any obviious reason for the issue. I do send rtmp Acknowledgement to server after the client receives "window size" bytes, and the client sends ping response to server.

I made a server connection with AC3 and C, I need the client(AC3) to be able to send a 3 byte message to the server (C) and have the server return a resopnse. So far everything works except for the fact that the feedback isn't fast enough becuase AC3 just tests for data once and moves on instead of waiting like in C. I'm using a binary socket at the moment but I was wondering if there was any way to wait for new data before moving on

I've been making a simple RSS reader flash widget for my webpage. It works perfectly when I test it locally, but when I publishit, I always get the No.Data.Received error. I've played with allthe parameters on the XMLConnector and all the publish settings,but no dice.The only thing that I can think of is that I'm loading RSSfrom a different site, but it isn't restricted in any way.

I am trying to have a PHP page load some variables into aFlash banner ad that will be running on 8 different websites...I need to have one central location for the PHP page andallow 8 other domains access this data...I am finding that when everything is on one server... noissues... data reads just fine...But when the PHP page is on one server and the SWF file onanother... the data never gets through...I am assuming this is some issue with security within

I'm trying to make a software which sends video and audio data to a flash media server by using RTMP protocol. Currently, my program can communicate with a flash media server correctly. RTMP specifications does not describe about the raw data in video/audio messages, so I muxed raw H.264 and AAC data into video/audio messages and sent to the server. The server seems to accept them, but a video player cannot playback the stream sending from the server. The player just says "Loading..." For a test purpose, I sniffed the network packets between Wirecast and the flash media server and ripped off only video and audio data. Then, I muxed those data into video/audio message and sent to the flash media server. In this case, the video player connected to the server can playback the stream correctly.
I checked the stream sent from Wirecast, the stream seems not to be H.264 raw data because those data are not started from 0x17 instead of H.264 start code. With those situation, I am wondering what kind of container format I should use for H.264/AAC data to the flash media server.

I plan to create a level editor for the game I currenty work on. Thats no problem at all, but I have no idea, how i could save data for the maps into a server from the .swf and get them back at a later point.And I also would like to know, what kind of a server I would need. Are free ftp servers enough for stuff like this, or are they useless?

I finally completed a flash 8(AS 2.0) that uses the netdrims component/Netdrims php file, toload one mySQL database, use it, and then save new to 4different tables in that database.3. Have a flash, that loads XML from server. Flash uses it to built up a site menu. Both xml and flash reside on the same host. When I try to run server locally - everything works. But when I try it online, XML is loaded only in FireFox, but in IE it can't be loaded. Flash movie itself loaded normally (I can right-click on it and see standard menu). I put my host into Trusted sites in IE and set very low security/privacy. I don't have any firewalls or proxies. I also put my host and flash movie into Trusted source in Flash Settings Manager.

I have in mind a very basic swf file that allows someone to enter data (via dynamic text box), submit this data (via php), which in turns saves it as a file on the Server. This file (.txt) would be used to populate text on the main site. Most of this seems quite straight forward, and standard practice, apart from actually saving the data as a particular file and on the server (or overriding an existing file), which I'm sure comes up against problems such as FTP access and everything else, but I was wondering if someone might have an insight on how this could be done?

I have a project, that sends JPG data to server. 3 hours ago this script was working fine. Here is the as3:

The problem is - $GLOBALS["HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA"] is not set. I'm just not receiving any jpg data. But $_POST has 200 indexes. I know that it sends correct bitmapData, because I tried adding it to stage and it worked. And I know, that the request is reaching the server, because I get the right response. But I don't know, what the problem is. Maybe there is any other approach at the php side?

I am trying to retrieve a stock quote from Yahoo! finance using Flex. I currently have it set so that it will pull the quote like I want, but it opens it in a new file. However, I want to store the CSV data in a variable so that I can use it in my program.
How do I do this?

I have a Flex-based client app which "talks" to the back-end through BlazeDS. In one of my use cases there will be a so called "Photo Wall" view, which will present a number of the most recent photos, submitted from people and for locations the user is following (Facebook-like).
The thing is, the data in this photo wall has to be filtered by "All", meaning no filter, "Friends", meaning friends that the user is following, and "Locations", meaning locations the user is following. If I get data from the server only once (when the ALL filter is selected by default), I will store it locally, and the next time a user clicks on a filter, this local collection will be filtered locally. The problem is that I can't predict how many of all recent photos are coming from friends, and how many from locations, thus I may end up with a page that shows only one photo, where a minimum of 5 photos should always be present. I clearly don't want to deal with partial fetching and stuff like that.
The other way is making two separate requests to the server initially, one to get a collection of recent photos from friends, and one for locations. Thus I will make sure I have the bare minimum of photos for the filtered pages. When data arrives, the client will merge those two collections, sort by date, and voila there is the "ALL" collection (of course, repeating photos will have to be pruned while merging)Third, making this same thing down at the server level, by making two separate queries and then merging them.

I have a flash project that connect with a server. I get all data from the server as raw tables as XML. So I have to do the server logics client side. (Don't ask why!)
I have looked for a framework or some code base that have solved this. A framework that can do mapping of keys asf. Basically a frame work that stores the data and handles retrieving of the data like SQL.
Ie. I can get user with the userid without iterating through all the instances. This gets more complex when you have more id in the same table.
So is there a data framework for flash out there?
(the HTML 5 sqlLight would be great if more browsers supported it)

I create an area within the site where a user can manually create something from a list of objects, if I, say, wanted to save this data as a number of variables to the server ie- a new row containing all the data unique to that saved item, does anyone know the best method of doing this, I'd figure it'd be XML but resource seems a bit sparse in this area.

I am new at ActionScript. I'm trying to use it with Flare visualization package, but truth is, I don't know what is due to my ignorance of Flare or my ignorance of ActionScript. I am trying to use JSON to get some data from my server. Near as I can tell the data are arriving properly at my ActionScript, but then I get lost.

Is it possible to set just one property of a remote SharedObject to clear itself? I understand that calling "clear" on an RSO will cause ALL properties to fire the "clear" event and clear out; however, what I want to do is clear out the data in a specific property so that the "clear" event/message is fired (and not the "change" one since I already have some actions in that).
I suppose I could just set the property to an empty string and put guard code inside my handling of the "change" event/message, but, I'd rather not do that.
