I would expect the mask to be applied when the checkbox is selected, and removed when it issin't. But it doesn't seem to work.However, when you change to , it works like a charm. Can anyone explain to me why?
Note: In my actual application, i'm applying this in a skin to a component that is extending SkinnableComponent which can't use BorderContainer so a solution to this would be great.
I have a quite different problem with resizing. I have a Flexbook component which uses the middle part of screen (center) with a html header menu and footer. The problem: The scaling works perfectly when we run in the local machine ( Flexbuilder). But when we deploy it to the server its like scaling never existed.. The requirement: when user maximizes the window or minimizes it, the Flexbook should be resized to fit the screen.

I have a movie clip (with instance name rectangle_mc) on the stage. Within this movie clip there are two separation animations on the timeline. The ROLL_OVER animation starts on frame "over" and the MOUSE_OUT animation starts on frame "off." If I roll over the movie clip, the initial animation plays, and when I mouse out the other animation plays to restore it to it's initial state. However, once the rollover animation has played once, it will not play again when I roll over it again, but for some reason the MOUSE_OUT plays every time.

I try to figure out how does focus mechanism work in Flex. View 5 RepliesMy Flex application is successfully calling functions in a JavaScript file through the ExternalInterface class when these are in the bin-debug folder and the JS file is located in the same directory as the Flex app.But when I test the Flex app on the server, it is not interacting with the JavaScript. The only difference I can find is that on the remote server the JS file is being pulled in from a URL, instead of locally. The JS file URL is in the same domain as the Flex application, therefore I don't think this is a cross-domain issue. What am I missing?

The app just does not work on windows and gives no compile time or runtime time error and offcourse it does not save image on desktop.
I have a component that extends UIComponent of Flex, I want to add it a FlexMouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE listener but it does not works. that means I can not capture the event. But when I use PopUpManager to add this component, and then add a FlexMouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE listener, it works fine. Is FlexMouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE only works for pop-up components?

It works perfectly in every browser except Safari (on a Mac). Chrome, IE, Firefox - all ok, but Safari, nope it just wont fire.I've copied my code below, can anyone see why it doesn't work in Safari pls ?(the 'are you sure' dialog window appears in Safari but the method in the Flex app just doesn't get called)

I have a repeater that populates a component, called 'project'. The project components are given an ID of 'wholeProject'. In all of my functions up until now, I was able to determine how many project components were made by doing the following:
wholeProject.length;
I used this in for loops, for each loops, and for changing the item settings within a project, i.e. something like this:
wholeProject[i].studentName = "Billy Bob";
However, I'm creating a new function that does not seem to like this wholeProject.length reference. I'm using it within the same level as all the others (i.e. the parent level). So far, my function is simply this:

when the application loads, the alert message simply does not appear. If I change the alert to something like this:
Alert.show("This is just a test.");
it works just fine. But for some reason, the wholeProject.length doesn't work in this function whereas it does in all my other ones.
I am aware of the new FlashBuilder 4.5 mobile application settings. I am aware that it uses an enhanced version of AIR to make apps that work well on mobile devices, which would normally mean that I can't have it run in the browser. I'm also aware that I should be able to get the enhanced performance if I create a swf with the correct compiler settings, and use the correct base components for my application. What are the correct base components? Spark or MX or something else? What are the correct compiler settings? I need the application to work for both desktop users, and mobile users who visit the website through their flash enabled browser.
There are three important features.
Being able to load a file from the mobile device/computer.
Being able to have the softkeyboard activated when needed.

I have a project that uses video for a chat application, I can get it to work in the flex emulator but when I deploy it to the device the button that initiates the video doesn't change and video never starts. My devices all have 2 cameras except my computer but specifiying Camera.getCamera([1]) didn't change anything except mess up my emulator and cause a NullPointerException. Camera.getCamera([0]) works just the same as not having the ID. I have tried messing with different values quality and nothing makes a difference

I'm packiging AIR app both on Mac and on Windows. On Mac everything goes well, but on Windows I get an error.

I'm using a PHP script to read an RSS feed in my Flex 4 app. The script works when I put the URL of the feed in the actual script, but I can't get it to work when I try to send the URL as a parameter from a HTTPService in Flex. Do you know any collapsible flex container that can handle dynamic content that works when pre-collapsed? I tried the CollapsiblePanel component by Arc90 for Flex, but it did not work when pre-collapsed.If I have a VBox inside the panel, and I set the "collapsed" property of the CollapsiblePanel to true, the size of the CollapsiblePanel cannot be restored. It seems like this is what is happening:
The CollapsiblePanel's collapsed property is pre-set to true in the MXML markup.
The VBox auto-adjusts its height to 0 since the CollapsiblePanel is collapsed.
When the CollapsiblePanel's collapsed property changes to false (i.e., it is expanded by the user), the VBox does not expand itself because its parent's content area is 0. Therefore the CollapsiblePanel remains at the same height because its content's height is 0.
Note: This occurs only when the CollapsiblePanel is pre-collapsed, as seen in the markup below.I've already tried this (didn't work):

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.

I've been working on a flash animation with some actionscript 3, which basically is the main.swf that calls upon 5 other swf and txt files that I am embedding into a web template. It all works fine on my mac but when I test on a pc I am able to call upon the other swfs and it pops up but the close button does not work. I assume that it has something to do with my actionscript with the children swf. But just in case I will show both.[code]

But I guess it must run on FP 10, snice I was thinking to implement this in an AIR for Android application. On the stage I got a button with the instance name of: submit. In the library I have a MovieClip with the linkage of: radioButton. This MovieClip is just to frames with different grafics. It is supposed to work like a checkbox or a radiobutton.
