Actionscript 3 :: Algorithms : Implementing Custom Hash Table Based Dict?

Aug 19, 2011

I am learning programming abstract data types. Trying to build custom hash table based dict.SO far I've created a class place holder.

public class HashMapDict implements IDict
{
private var _map:Array;[code].....

What I am thinking about is to use cryptography libs for hash generation. But I am a bit confused with how it should work. e.g. Tried to look on several libs like as3crypto (http:/url]....) and it seems to produce hash in a way I don't really think can be used for indexes in arrays.

Actionscript 3 :: Custom Sorting Algorithms' Speed

Sep 22, 2011

I'm doing a project where I manually create sorting algorithms.After several tests I found out that my heapsort is way quicker than quicksort (I think it should be the other way around), my selection sort is also faster than insertion sort.I'm testing using integers from -100 to 100, randomly generated, 5000 values in an array (I modified this number several times, still the same problems).My quicksort isn't in-place.I thought that maybe flash's recursive functions are slow? my heapsort uses loops, unlike quicksort. That's just a hypothesis though. I start a timer, run the class's exec() function, stop the timer and calculate the elapsed time.[code]

ActionScript 3.0 :: Rename All Variables, Functions, And Custom Classes To Some Random Hash?

Sep 28, 2011

does one protect this? I mean, Flash Cs5 ide has this little "protect from import" option but I don't think that's enough.I mean, the only thing I can think of is a scrambler.Something that would rename all variables, functions, and custom classes to some random hash. So something like myVar would be renamed to x41dDefh5kjFCe. It would be like a big "lol have fun" to someone who might manage to go that far.Still, that isn't enough. I mean, anyone else know of any good ideas or programs? Just trying to protect my work

Java :: Implementing Role Based Authorization For Existing App In Flex

Jul 9, 2011

I have an application that is coded using Flex 3 on UI side and java @ the service layer, along with BlazeDS. Now we need to authorize the users accessing the system based on the roles that are defined for them in the database, e.g. : say a user with role guest should not be able to access Admin tab on ui and also should not be able to do any operations other than viewing the data displayed on dashboard. Also the point to note here is that roles can be created dynamically by Super users from UI. I came across this link which describes how to perform Role Based Authentication & Authorization. With this approach I need to define the roles in service-config.xml but since my roles are not pre-defined I cannot go with this.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Custom Components - Implementing Live Preview?

Oct 6, 2010

I want to develop custom components (that show up in the Components panel) which a Flash designer can drag onto the stage and use the Component Inspector to customize it to their liking (inspectable parameters, I believe they are called). I'd also ideally like to implement a Live Preview so they can see their adjustments live on the design stage.

Does anyone know a good resource for learning the correct way to do this? I've found one that used to work in CS3 but now that I am on CS5 it isn't happening for me: [URL]. There's also the "official" Adobe blog post, I think the previously mentioned article gives it an appropriate shout-out for being "long and cumbersome". It seems that this should be a pretty popular technique.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Table With Points - Sort Dynamic Texts Based On The Variable

Feb 10, 2010

Updated question: Is there a way to sort dynamic texts based on the variable (or simple value) they represent? Old dribble: I'm looking for some pointers for a problem with making a table. It may be that I have started off in the wrong direction - anyways, I'm stuck now. The .png displays my objects, and how they are connected/grouped. The highlighted (red) shows the variable containing the points.

The pink with the most points should be displayed higher than the rest, and 2nd most points should ofc be 2nd highest. I have tried taking the red variable out of the pink, but I could not think of a way of moving the red variable based on its own value. I'm going to edit the red variables (as the world cup goes on), and there is no need for cookies and such. And if there is a simpler way of doing the setup, let me know. I'm using SwishMax3 (SM2 up till a few days ago, so I'm more used to as2..)

Actionscript 3 :: Vector Graphics Flood Fill Algorithms?

May 1, 2011

I am working on a simple drawing application, and i need an algorithm to make flood fills.The user workflow will look like this (similar to Flash CS, just more simpler):the user draws straight lines on the workspace. These are treated as vectors, and can be selected and moved after they are drawn.user selects the fill tool, and clicks on the drawing area. If the area is surrounded by lines in every direction a fill is applied to the area.if the lines are moved after the fill is applied, the area of fill is changed accordingly.Anyone has a nice idea, how to implement such algorithm? The main task is basically to determine the line segments surrounding a point. (and storing this information somehow, incase the lines are moved)[code]

Actionscript 3 :: Javascript Implement Math Functions Using Its Own Algorithms Or Outsource To Cpu/processor?

Nov 20, 2011

ActionScript3 states the following:

Note: The Math functions acos, asin, atan, atan2, cos, exp, log, pow, sin, and sqrt may result in slightly different values depending on the algorithms used by the CPU or operating system. Flash runtimes call on the CPU (or operating system if the CPU doesn't support floating point calculations) when performing the calculations for the listed functions, and results have shown slight variations depending upon the CPU or operating system in use.

My web application works with very large and small numbers that I suspect may see a difference depending on which machine is running it (especially with mobile devices whose processors aren't as powerful as desktop machines'). My question is, is this behavior a function of the language?

That is, I assume some languages implement their own algorithms for the above functions, and so may be more consistent (except for differences in round-off errors introduced by the choice of processor/CPU that would exist for all languages).

Anyone know if Javascript has it's own algorithms, or does it outsource them to the CPU/processor like ActionScript?

Flex :: Event-based Interaction Between Two Custom Classes?

May 25, 2010

I have 2 custom components, which have their own nesting hierarchy ... One is container for another. I have to "familiarize them" with each other. The way I'm trying to achieve that is using global events (one side is firing and the other one is catching):

Application.application.addEventListener("Hello", function (data:Event):void{
// .. some actions
});

[Code]...

Then should be created the connection between container and it's child.

BUT, the only thing I could acheive is passing a reference to the Container in the DynamicEvent. Is there any chance that I could access the child at the event-handler function.

Flex :: Xampp / Wamp Based Apache Server Custom Reply?

Feb 20, 2012

How can I send a custom response upon a custom request on a xampp/wamp based Apache server upon a connection to a specific port?I'm trying to reply to the a flash app is requesting in order to allow a crossdomain http GET request.The flash policy request, is made to port 843 by default and i'd like to keep it that way.The port should get a (ending with a null char, is just for the reference) and replying with something like:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd">
<cross-domain-policy>
<site-control permitted-cross-domain-policies="master-only"/>

[code]....

As far as i know, the request should be return as a plain text, although Content-type, might be needed as well.I've tried using the following:[URL] and although it listens to the port and accepts connections, it doesn't reply with the specified xml upon request.I wrote a simple C# web server which listens to port 843, and serves the aforementioned policy - it worked out just fine, however, when using a SecureSocket connection for a secure connection (i.e opening a socket to a HTTPS/SSL protocol) - the request that is sent is encrypted using the hosts certificate. As far as i know, there's no way of listening or acquiring the servers certificate and decrypting the data via an external app hence, the only way is to somehow 'teach' Apache to respond with the crossdomain policy after a proper request is sent via an appropriate port.

Another idea i have is to read the server's certificate file stored in the Apache directory regardless of what happens on the server itself, though imo it's an overkill.

Flex :: Stop TabNavigator From Adding HASH To URL

Dec 21, 2009

I have a TabNavigator component that keeps added a hash (#) to the URL. I need to prevent this. I have it set to historyManagementEnabled="false" but it is still adding the # to the URL when it initializes. The reason why adding this hash is such a problem is because, I am using .htaccess to give my URL a pretty URL like domain.com/designer/category/product/id when the page is really located at domain.com/product.php?pid=id So in order for my assets to load correctly I had to add a base tag like this:
<base href="[URL]" />
But since I have this base tag set, whenever my flex app adds the # to the URL, the page is now automatically redirected to the homepage. Any way to stop the TabNavigator from adding the # to the URL.
