Adobe :: Useful To Use After Effects When Creating A Flash Game?

Well, the title said everything, I saw some very nice effects using After Effects, but I want to apply those to a Flash game.. will it be useful?, or After Effects only works on cut scenes, animations, etc?

I want to create a simple game (Adobe Air) based on 2 players using ActionScript 3.Let's assume I want to create online chess game.So that I can play with my friend at work, at home, from anywhere via internet.Should I use flash server? I've been working on a flash game, and recently added in sound effects. However, the sound effects only seem to play the first half-second of the audio file whenever I call on them to. I have been using the standard code.
ActionScript Code:

But the sound effect only plays through a small amount of the audio. Also, the sound effects are not very stable, and will only play the butchered audio if there is some time in between clicking on several buttons. The odd thing is that I took the same code to another flash file, and the audio played through all the way with no problem, not requiring any additional time to play the sound effect again. I used the same code to load the sounds, which is

I'm very new to Flash CS3 and have set myself the task of creating a flash based website, with the same functionality as [URL] creating the drop down menu - I believe I should be exploring rollovers/rollouts and also applying easing effects, however I have no idea what kind of actionscript to use.

I make stop motion films and am tired of having the ameteur look of not having effects. I am trying to learn how to add backgrounds using greenscreens, maybe put images/videos(animated and/or realistic) of things like fire, lasers, etc. and I'm just wondering, does Adobe supply some sort of program that could allow me to do this? I just don't even know where to begin. I've taken a course in Flash animation and so I'm familiar with what it can do, I'm just not sure if I'm able to add images I've created in Flash to a stop motion film in another editing program.

Basically the objective is to click on certain targets, which upon doing so would destroy the target and garner you points. I've written a macro to help me until the point where its impossible to even see the target more than a mere flicker, (maybe even less than that, i cant see it with my eyes). But its possible because i believe others have done so. (Maybe on slower comps?)
Anyway the question is, how would it be possible to slow down the flash game?
I've thought of a couple of ways that could work but i'm not sure how to implement them.
1. Slow down the cpu speed? (smth like that? how?)
2. As the game progress the time the targets appear and stay up is reduced. Maybe theres a variable controlling all of this, isit possible to modify the address of this variable? freeze it or smth?

I am currently trying to run a flash game on Android and iOS using Adobe Air.While Air works nicely to run the app on Android, I experiment troubles with iOS. I am actually able to generate a .ipa package and install it to an iPhone (via iTunes). However, when I launch the application from the iPhone, nothing happens (black screen).
I then generated a debug .ipa which connects to a FDB debugger running on my computer, and the debugger shows the given fault when the app is launched:
#error 1107 the abc data is corrupt attempt to read out of bounds
Searching the internet didn't helped much. The issue is known [URL] but this does not help in my case. Someone had the same error and fixed it by removing some 3D tween animation from his flash app [URL], but I doesn't use tween.
Notes: I tried on iPhone 3G and 4S and the result is the same. The game is coded via haXe, which generates the .swf file. This main swf file uses other swf and xml files, which are present in the .ipa generated by Air.

I'm building an Adobe AIR application (2d platformer adventure game), utilizing the Flash Builder 4 IDE, which will be packaged on a CD for installation. I've embed the majority of the game assets into a static class to keep it simple and organized. This way I can reuse assets and swap them without much digging.
Example:

In the early days of the projects, everything went to plan. However as the project has grown to be over 28MB, I've started to run into Out Of Memory errors. These occur when I add new assets, refactor for a while, or add new classes. Once I get this error, I can restart FB and then work for another 15-20 minutes. I've modified my .ini file bump up Flash Builder 4's memory allocation. It's currently set at:
-Xms512m
-Xmx1024m
While I'm at it, here are the specs/plug-ins that I've got installed:

My Questions:
1) Is the issue with the path that I've chosen for the way I'm handling in-game assets? I am streaming in some assets such as tutorial swfs which are loaded via the SWFLoader. I could go this route for all assets... but, should I? Is this the right way to handle a disk game? (The game runs without a hitch when installed on QA machines...)
2) Provided the embedding of static assets isn't an issue, Is this a FB4 bug? Where should I head for more information?

I am trying to play sounds in my Flash gameAt times, the game runs slowly and the sound effects began to lagI noticed that all of the sound effects that are played using AS3 sound and soundChannel objects (which are held in an array and are triggered by a Click Event listener function) are lagging worse that sound effects which are played from within MovieClips timelines (These MovieClips are played using gotoAndPlay() which is called by a different Click Event listener function.) I am wondering why this is happening. I assume that anything done within Actionscript would be processed faster that anything done on a timeline.

I've recently tried FlashPunk for game development and it seems to be easy enough to comprehend, however, when me and a friend tested simple apps coded in it on the iPhone, it seems to be acquiring an unnecessarily large amount of memory plus dropping framerates.
Are there any other choices for game development with ActionScript 3 with frameworks that are optimized for mobile gaming?

I already made a game with flash builder 4, and I want to provide an easy download for people that would rather play offline. Thing is, i use a folder whole structure to dynamically load content per level. Folder structure looks like this, not that it matters that much:[code]How should I go to distribute this? Should I just resort to make a zip file for the flash game and assume people know how to extract and open the swf? Is there any other way to port easily as an executable? Perhaps Adobe Air (not sure if this works though)?

I am working on a game in flex, and I am trying to figure out how to create menus in the game. I am was thinking it would be easy just to add and remove a child for the menu, but then it would be a pain to make interactive.I am trying to do both a pop up menu and an always on screen menu, like a bottom menu bar, so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. I am completely new to flash and flex and don't really know where to start past making the actual game.

I'm sort of new to Flash, have been using it for ages but just to animate, i haven't done any programming or interactive stuff for years, so i feel new to it again!Creating a very simple platform.Movie clip of the character (instance name z_1)- runs button - when pressed makes z_1 invisible and loads another movieclip of him firing a weapon (z_fire). (also makes ground stop moving- basically game is a static running animation, over a moving ground, if that makes sense)This all works fine, i even figured how to make the score increase!After the firing animation is finished (there is a stop on the movieclip) i want the original running animation to be visible again and for the ground etc to play again. The firing animation is only 12 frames long so i imagine i need to tell the button to resume normal service on the stage after that time period![code]It's probably completely wrong but it works, i just need to know the extra code to make the original animations start back again after z_fire has played.

I am creating a blit game and as of right now, the only thing that is blitting is the world itself (i.e. roads, fences). i was planning on displaying my character as a sprite and any interactive objects that it comes by as sprites as well.PickUps, Houses, Enemies. I was wanting to know what are the best practices when it comes to this. does this seem wise. When normallying blitting a game, how much of the game is actual blit, and how much should be display objects.

I'm just starting out with my first Adobe Air project (I'm a pure AS3 developer by trade).I'm planning to build an image editor which supports layers. I'm wondering what the best way would be to store an entire project including layer data (images) to a users hard disk.I'm wondering if there is any pros/cons in creating a custom file format for my application. The idea is I will be able to store an entire project in a single file. This will be done by writing meta data to the file's header such as the image dimensions, layer names, layer data offsets etc...I'm trying to be mindful of the issues which might arrise such as maintaining backwards compatibility after adding new project features/meta etc.I guess I'm asking whether people have any advice or experience with creating a custom file format for Adobe Air and if there are any other 'out-of-the-box' solutions to saving 'complex' data to a users hard disk.

I'm using Macromedia Flash Professional 8 at the moment, and I'm fairly inexperienced with actionscript and most Flash processes. What I'm looking to do is create a game of sorts where characters appear on either side of the screen and a dialogue box appears at the bottom with text scrolling across every time the player clicks "Next" or whatever, and the characters' mouths move and their eyes blink as the text scrolls. We're using voice actors so we'd put an audio clip at the start of each piece of dialogue.

Creating a pacman-style game using Flash (AS3). There are 3 players competing to eat the most dots. Right now when one player eats a dot, on that player's screen the dot goes away (but only for a second) and appears again in the screen. The other player playing, doesn't see that the dot went away and reappeared.Using hitTestObject, when a player touches a dot, the dot should no longer be seen on the stage. I'm using shared object to create this multi-player game environment. I'm new in using SharedObject and also AS3.
