I have been loading text in through an xml file using itemrenderer. It works totally fine when I run the application on my PC but when I load it onto my Android phone it crashes. Looks like my phone can only handle loading in about 3000 words using this method without crashing.
Anyone have a suggestion? Also, HTML isn't going to work for me. I want the text built into the application, which is why I have been trying to use the xml file.

Now I got his displaying on my grid by saying dataProvider=XMLListCollection... What I want to do is on selection of a row, check if it has "Address" tag, if it has display the other grid, else hide the grid.
So the real problem is the lack of an onReleaseOutside function. I found some examples of how to bypass this during a drag function but it was not applicable for a text input.The problem is that when a user selects some text in textinput and mouses off the application area and then mouses up, I'm getting a problem that the textinput keeps thinking that the mouse down is actively selecting text in the textinput and continually overwrites the characters being entered in the textinput. in the search bar of the live store on the page, type some text, then highlight it all and don't let up on the mouse until you are outside the store.I finally hacked some junk together so I can tell if the mouse goes off the stage using some code like.

In Flex Mobile Project, Text Input shows blocks instead of showing arabic text. Labels are working fine with Arabic.
Is there any way to show Arabic text inside text input?

Since, it is for flex mobile project, when I input any text in arabic, it shows separate characters. Arabic is a language that doesn't have separate characters. It should combine letters to form specific word.
I want to have the mouse cursor to be changed to hand when used for entering the<mx:textInput>. When the field is already on focus, text selection should be available.I tried any combination of useHandCursor="true", buttonMode="true" and mouseChildren="false",and the closest result is when using all three of them. Then the hand cursor does appear, but the text field loses its selection 'abilities' (text cannot beselected using the mouse). This is logical, since mouseChildren="false" disables this. But how do I acheive the desired result?

View 1 RepliesI've recompiled my app with Flex 4.6 / AIR 3.1 and now when I upload to the Android market it says my app is using a "android.permission.BROADCAST_STICKY" permission. In it's simplest terms what is it and can or should I turn it off (it's not in the app descriptor file)?
BTW I used captive runtime for the first time in this upload. Would that have anything to do with it?

I have a problem - How to run AIR (really big desktop application) on my Galaxy Tab 10.1? It's possible convert .air to .apk?
EDIT:
1. I set up a new desktop project (File -> New -> Flex Project)
2. Project name is "simpleTest", Application type is Desktop (runs in Adobe AIR), Flex SDK version 4.6.0 and click to Finish
3. I go to Design mode, then set the width to 500 and height to 250. I add one button by drawing and name it btnOne and make Generate Event Handler
4.Then I go to Project -> Export Release Build (Export as Signed AIR package) -> Next (I apply the certificate) -> Finish
5. I find the project file (...Adobe Flash Builder 4.6simpleTest) and copy simpleTest.air into a new file (simpleTestAPK - which contains my certificate > andCert.p12)
6. I rename "simpleTest.air" to "simpleTest.zip" and from this .zip I unpack just "simpleTest.swf" and "application.xml"
7. I create a "create.txt" containing as follows:
adt -package -target apk-debug -storetype pkcs12 -keystore andCert.p12
myHope.apk application.xml simpleTest.swf
8. I rename "create.txt" to "create.cmd" and launch it (Shift + RMB -> Open cmd here)
9. "myHope.apk" is created
10. I copy this to Galaxy Tab 10.1 (with drag&drop)
11. I launch "myHope.apk" but all I see is blank, white screen, no colors, no buttons, nothing.

I'm a designer working in tandem with a PHP programmer on a project where we will display a random image via flash from a selection of images stored on a database. Accompanying this image is a tagline and a path for a button and these variables are sent via a php script. The actionscript then picks up these vars via loadVars and displays them on screen - well, almost.
The tagline is displaying in the dynamic text box with no problems, but I'm struggling with how to display the image in the empty MC I've created (called 'pic') and also to attach the path to the button I've created (called 'projectURL_btn'). I'm fairly sure it's something fairly simple but I just can't crack it.

How can I add a set of dynamic images and then add event handlers to each that trigger a different event? My scenario is that I have a remote service that grabs a set of data (ArrayCollection) that has a className, classID and classDescription. I would like the images to have event handlers that trigger a new panel display that would show the "classDescription" for the particular class that is clicked. My problem is figuring out how to retrieve the proper set of data and adding the images properly to the panel.

The application should load the flashlog file and display the contents after performing some text filtering.But when i load the application this clears my flashlog.txt though my file mode is READ.I can understand that running my air application clears the flashlog and prepares it for new logging. Is there a workaround for this.I dont want to open the flashlog file everytime and check for traces from my web application
