i need some action script for a button to load another swf file when clicked. new window needs to be at the same size as the swf movie and without toolbars etc. also need a similar code to load swf file but to go on a button on a html page.

It is in the same folder and I even loaded it into my library to try that.
I get this error when I test my movie, but I'm not sure what it means...:/

View 1 RepliesI have a menu set up with several buttons (on the left side of the screen), each of which loads an external swf (on the right side of the screen). Within some of these swfs are more buttons to load other swfs, and the menu on the left remains active while another swfs is playing.What I want is to unload the current swf whenever a button is clicked and load the new on in the same spot. So before I was using addChildAt to get the external swf's at a certain level, and then removeChildAt to take away whichever swf it is and then add the next one. That didn't stop the sound, so I switched it to unloadAndStop and set up a function that unloadAndStops each individual swf, like this:[code]
That function runs every time a new swf is called to remove the previous one.Now I know that's not what I should do since I'm effectively using a method on objects that aren't in the display list, and it's apparent since it messes up the text later on in the timeline. But I don't know any other way to get everything to unload and to stop all the sound. It would be a headache to make specific paths for the buttons within swf's, but I don't even know what I'd do about the buttons in the main timeline that don't know what swf is playing on the right.I've searched lots of different forums for this one, for something kinda like unloadAndStop and kinda like removeChildAt, so I'm thinking I need to reorganize this project somehow
The page transition work fine after Respected tacos " changed the code but while transition between the pages if I quickly move the mouse and clicked the other button the pages do not load as expected.I tested several times and with lower frame rates this problem can be watched.

I have 4 navigation button and like home, about us etc.... And i want to disable home when it is click and cannot clicked it until the user click another button first. means if a visitor is at home page then home navigation is disabled, and all other are active, and when they click at aboutus button then the pages goes to the about us page and the about us button is disabled and other get active. View 6 RepliesI've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?
View 2 RepliesI am loading eight external swfs by way of eight buttons with actionscript to remove the swfs and sound after a new button is clicked. This works fine except that as soon as you get to the frame where the actionscript is all the swfs load at one time on top of each other. I don't want any to load until the button is clicked for the right one. MouseEvent listener works but only after all the swfs have loaded. How do I get the swfs to load only when the buttons are clicked. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

I have a menu with five nav buttons (atcually MovieClips). Each has three frame labels: "on", "stay", and "off". The rollover and rollout animations play flawlessly, but I'm at a loss as to how to give each button a sticky "active" state. I have been asked to create a small flash programme. Where a user can navigate some menus to view pictures, plus in addition to have a button which will load up a PDF file So in simple terms, user inserts cd, user then loads up the flash file, navigates to a button, then clicks the button which loads up the pdf which is also on the cd I have seen many threads about this, but I still cant get this to work. Despite my countless attempts, I must be missing something. Which is why I ask if someone could answer in a term so that even someone whos never used flash? Would understand and be able to follow the instructions I need instructions in simple steps, from the moment my pc boots up, and ending up with me being able to double click the flash file and see it working.

i have given 3 functions as onEnterFrame,onPress,onRelease. i tried all these but didnt get the result.smile1,smile2,smile3 are button instances which are declared on the monie clip.my main thing is i hav a button, when i click on that button it should go the next frame which i have declared in "gotoAndPlay(6)" method.
Anyway what I need to do is have a movie clip finish playing when a button is clicked and then go to the frame label associated with the button. I hope I'm explaining myself ok. So if I had say 4 buttons Home Gallery About Contact If Contact is clicked then I want the Home page to play (Which is a fade out) and then go to Contact Page (which will fade in). Then If Gallery is clicked then I want Contact to fade out and then go to Gallery page and fade in.

I want to make a button (or graphic) active and visible if another button is clicked. But it must be invisible and unclickable before the other button is clicked. (this is a "find the differences between the 2 pictures game" and I want circles to appear over the differences that the user finds but only after he clicks it)
The button (or graphic) I want to become active has instance name of "sockcircle_btn" The button you click to make it appear is called "sock_btn"
In the first frame of the sockcircle_btn layer, this is my code

The file is setup to loop between frames 2-3. But the sockcircle_btn never enables even when sock_btn is clicked.
Pretend a button is selected - when that button is selected it goes to the active frame which shows that the button is selected. When you click another button it currently resets itself - BUT - I want it to go to and play frame "mouse_out" and than reset itself. Below is the code I am currently working wtih:

i have looked everywhere for a tutorial on this - i have tried writing, and re-writing codes....i just cant get it. is there any tutorial i overlooked? here is what im looking to do - NO SHORTCUTS: have my main file that loads the buttons, my external swf container, my intro animations, and my swf "out" and "in" animations when a button is clicked i want it to point me to specific frame labels. i will have an "out" and "in" frame label and which will be the locations of the transitional starting points i want it to play the "out" transition, than unload the current swf, than play the in transition, than load the swf of the button that was clicked i want the animations to all be done using frame labels all within the MAIN swf file.... i have had no luck doing this....and i do NOT like the tween class....
