I am developing an application with Flex for the GUI and Restlet for the webservices. I have a strange problem. I put my XML as a property on a generic object, and send it as part of a POST request. But in the Restlet webservice, this XML is irretrievable. How do I retrieve it? I tried initialising the received Representation object to a DomRepresentation, but thats not working. If I put the received Representation object into a Form object, then getFirstValue is returning that XML as a string! I noticed that the contentType of the HTTPService was application/www-form-encoded so I set it to application/xml and its not helping either. I have a movie clip symbol placed on the main timeline. The class linkage to that movie clip is Sheet. Inside Sheet class, I make a public string call _textRow. Inside the Sheet's constructor, I create a new TextField call values_txt. Inside the Sheet class again, I create a public function call updateTable().
The document class is Main. From the Main.as, I need to call updateTable() function to update the text inside values_txt. And I need to find a way to get to values_txt. That's where my problem lies.

Basically, I need to run Sheet's updateTable() from Main.as and update the values_txt.text with _textRow string. But I don't know value_txt's target path.
I created an array of objects and put an event listener on each of them. My problem is that when the object is clicked, I want to access a method inside the object's class but I do not know how to reference its position in the array. This isn't very clear but hopefully my code will make it clearer.
This line is inside while loops and puts an event listener on every square.

what i tried to do is the following: i created a dynamic text, gave it a name and converted it to symbol (Button; together with a shape). then i created an instance of it and gave this one a name as well.i tried to access the dynamic text using the following as 3 code:

I am making a profile sort of thing, basically what happens is: You start the program... it loops, and generates 500 text fields, it stores them in an array called profile_name[]; it names them "Profile + (i+1) (i being the var used in the loop). Changes the colour to yellow, changes the size to 13. Removes the border from it and makes it unselectable (the text). It then converts the text into a movie clip (as if you made a dynamic text area, on the stage, and clicked it, and pressed f8, and converted to mc). It stores that in an array called profile_mcs[]. I need a way to access the text inside the movie clip in both they're arrays...
Example If you go to your flash stage, make some dynamic text, call it "ptxt1", you make it unselectable, remove any border if it has one... you name the text "test", you select it, press f8, then convert to a movie clip called "test_text" you name it "pbtn1" (the instance name I mean, when I say name) If you go to the first frame of your main timeline and press f9 (action script section) type pbtn1.test.text = "NEW TEXT", it will name the text "test" inside the mc "pbtn1" to NEW TEXT...
However, if you store them into an array (both text and mc) you can no longer reference them like this: MyMC_Array[0].MYText_Array[0].text = "NEW TEXT", It doesn't show up, and making 500 if statements is to much (I think my problem may be when I traced my dynamic text inside the movie clip (that I've made on the stage) it appears as undefined.

When I add a TextInput to the stage I can access it with instanceName.text. this works. Now I have one Movieclip with one TextInput inside (the textinput's instance name is testetxt). This MovieClip has a corresponding class and its code is the following:

The textinput gets transparent but the text isn't changed... I realized it was because the textinput wasn't initialized yet. so I have to wait a while, but how can I know that it was initialized and I can set the initial text by code?

I have imported a floor plan into Flash CS4. I have the "Rooms" (polylines/rectangles with no fill as drawing objects) that define the rooms as well as the room numbers inside the rooms as text fields. I would like to associate the room numbers with their respective rectangle/polyline that defines the room.
Is there a way to traverse all of the objects on the stage and then say "if the text field is inside the boundaries of this rectangle (the room polyline) then give this polyline that instance name.

well in my game,while you are playing level you have 3 objects(movieclips) on which you can click to pass on the next frame(when comes 3 new objects etc. untill level is complete); 2 of that 3 objects are wrong, and only 1 is good for passing on next frame. I'm using a movieClip inside a ScrollPane to show a list of CheckBoxes. The amount of CheckBoxes shown is dynamic, it depends on a SQL query. After the query is done, I add as many CheckBoxes as rows in the result set. What I am trying to do is to access some methods I wrote in the MovieClip inside the ScrollPane to get the length of the CheckBoxes, check which ones are selected and the label they have (their label is also defined by the SQL query).

I have a very stupid question: can android (I use samsung galaxy S2 mobile) can access teh webcam ?In my flash application, I got a flash security alert that allows to autorize or deny the access to webcam.
When I run this flash, it never shows this security alert and then It does not access the webcam. I do tests for instance with the website [URL]: works fine on my PC, works fine on my galaxy s2, but since it never shows me the autorization dialog, I cannot stream my webcam.

what I want to do is render some HTML inside my Flash object. My problem is that this isn't just htmlText (for which I could use a textArea object), but text and images. Is there a component / object I can use inside Flash to render this HTML segment on the fly, or would I have to write my own HTML interpreter more-or-less (which I could do, thats just the last resort if I can't find a quicker way to do it)
