I've made a library in flex with different components and my CSS I want to use in different projects (the goal of a library....). BUT even if I can use my components, I can't use my CSS file which is in the library. When I try <mx:Style source="assets/style.css" />, it wasn't found :(
So, how I should do to have a CSS file in my library which can be use in a project ??
In my child swf I am using the sound from library with "attachSound". I also use the play/pause button controls of this sound alongwith the other animation. Now when I load this into my main swf file with "loadMovie", It plays fine but no sound. I found that this is due to no sound linkage in my main file library.I want to share my child swf's library with main file's library.
Is there any "mainstream" library used for this purpose? Commonly spread, well maintained, documented etc.I found these (using flash):
Uploadify - not many releases, latest 12/2010, no documentation (!) SWFUpload - latest release 03/2010, documentation fancyupload - looks buggy.
phpfileuploader - looks heavyweight, and looks commercial (?) I cannot read the licence (you can download it but are you allowed to use it forever without paying?) plupload New version of pure javascript (no flash) Valums' ajax upload claims to handle file size limit and progress bar, which is quite suspicious to me: these features require to guess the file size before the upload, which seems impossible in javascript (look also here). Or can it work?
I'm trying to add the Flint Particle system to my Flash CS4. I downloaded the swc file. Currently this file is residing on my desktop for testing purposes. I am on a Mac, if that makes any difference, but I went to file -> Publish settings -> Flash... then under the AS3 settings I added the path to the swc via the swc importer under the external library path. I then added the code that was given Here (under step 5-- add the Action Script)When I go to run the file, though, [code]...
i want make own flex library and in this library use own actionscript file which will i use in more component in this library..this file contents eg only code
public function computeSum(a:Number, b:Number):Number { return a + b; }
but when i can this create just when i click File-New-Actionscript File (filename - OK) is in Problem view Error: A file found in a source-path must have an externally visible definition. If a definition in the file is meant to be externally visible, please put the definition in a package
I have a mp3 file that is 2:30 long and is roughly 5.5mb. How come when I import the file to my fla library it sees it as being 29mb large. My swf isn't large when I compile the project but the fla file jumps from 2mb to 30mb just from adding this sound file. P.S. This site has been a ton of help with different aspects of my flash project.
On my PC at work, I can drag a file from Windows Explorer directy into my Flash movie's library. I can't seem to figure out how to do this on a Mac. I tried selecting my file and dragging it to the Dock over the Flash icon, where I hit space bar to pull up the entire Flash program and can see the library, but when I drag my file into the library, nothing happens. Please tell me there's a way to do this - without saying something like "just import it from the menu" - if there is another way.
why Flash does not organise files in the library, alphabetically, when type of file is selected? I would like to be able to see all my files grouped by type, but they are not in alphabetical order, which kind of defeats the purpose. Unless I am missing something shouldn't this be an issue for Adobe to fix?
I've downloaded the tweener.swc from their google project page I create my fla file put it in a folder and put in the same folder the tweener.swc file.
I go to ActionScript settings > Library path > hit the + button > I type the relative path which should be just tweener.swc or not sure but just a dot (.) or / to get all the classes and libraries from the same folder in which the fla is located.
But it says it can't load the swc or my imports don't find the classes.
I need to import three pdf text files into my Flash CS4 for use in a project I am trying to complete but every time I try to import these pdf files to the library I get an error which reads "One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them". I am using Adobe Reader X, which is the latest reader available, Flash CS4 and Windows Vista Home Premium and I cannot understand why I cannot import pdf files to Flash.
I'm trying to create a sleek and styled button that when clicked allows the user to select a file. When the file has been selected, an event should fire, allowing me to reconstruct the form. Also the file should be uploaded without reloading the page. Preferably events should also be fired for upload progress and completion.
Obviously neither pure HTML or JavaScript can do all this by themselves. I need to let Flash do the uploading. I've been searching around for a nice clean JavaScript library that implements Flash for file uploads and makes the aforementioned events available to the programmer. All I've managed to find are "all-or-nothing" type libraries that does everything for me, giving me little or no freedom. Often the upload interface is also static and in flash.
Are there are professional, clean JavaScript libraries out there that does what I'm after? To reiterate, I'm looking for a JavaScript library that uses Flash only to upload one or more files asynchronously and offer events to keep track of the upload.
The following script works perfectly, but I can't get the library item (which is a mc, class "helmet") to display. Do I need to import additional classes to display the mc?
For whole damn month I spend writing script for a actionscript application on Flash CS5. I had my Window$ Crashed!! and when I tried opening the flash file, it says "error opening File!". my swf is sized 0 KB, I even bought a decompiler, Trillix Flash Decompiler and tried to decompile the swf, it says swf corrupt. Now all I have is some classes and external swfs. Those thousands of as3 codes inside the fla file and the library objects are all gone.
I am thinking of creating an app which will read the contents i mean the library of the fla/swc file and use it to check whether the items present in that swc/fla is used in as3 project.... can do it manually... but wanna automate it..
In a project we use large flash FLA file with lots of graphic assets, but the actual data that is changed is just in a few symbols. Sometimes it is not very efficient to transfer the whole FLA file that comes up to 20MB now.
I was thinking about using Shared Libraries, but it seems that, even if you import external library, it still copies the whole assets into the destination file, but does not link it from external file. Consequently, size of the FLA file still remains the same.
Is there any way to split FLA files into few separate in order to minimise size of the most frequently updated file and keep all unchanged data in another file?
Can any answer the following questions and maybe point me to a "for dummies" tutorial on 'Classes'. I have the books but they have seemed to disappoint me. Unfortunately I can never ask "why" when reading a book.
1) Does a Class file need to be attached to a library symbol?
2) How do you know what to import?I know this sounds funny but should you always import flash.display.MovieClip? I just want to create a line using a class to begin with and call it from a flash swf with two parameters (start and end).Wouldn't it only need to be a import flash.display.Graphics
3) What is "Base class is final."? Anybody had this error before?[code]
I have a flash file with several frames. In each frame I need to play a sound file.I've added all the sounds to the library and done all the necessary steps to export for actionscript. Here's my code to play the sound in one frame.
var sound1:Sound = new Cal10101(); sound1.play();
This works great to play the sound. I am using buttons to move to the next frame. When I click the button to move to the next frame, I need the sound from frame 1 to stop and a new sound which would be Cal10102 to start playing. How do I stop the sound from frame 1 from playing when I go to the next frame?
My flex (flash builder 4) project references (embeds) a flex library project (ReusableFx). I have it working fine when it builds and runs, but I am struggling with a Design mode error "Design mode: Error during component layout...". In the flex library project there is a 'default.css' file which references a png file. Specifically like this:
[Code]...
It works when I build and run, I see the icon, but the problem is that design mode must work different in flash builder and breaks with this line. I tried a few things with no difference:
I have a swc file, loaded in my components panel and dragged it to my library. It is a file which allows flash as3 to evaluate strings as numbers as such. My problem is when I import the file
import r1.deval.D; I get an error message "the class r1.deval.D must subclass flash.display.MovieClip since it is linked to a library clip of that type".
I've been sitting here for hours following the developers guide and numerous examples of how to do this yet have not found the correct process.
I have built a component, but the assets do not appear in the symbol library of the destination fla when I drag the component to the stage. This is fine, except that I have embedded a font in the component. To ensure the font exists in the destination swf, it must exist in the symbol library of the destination fla.My component extends the UIComponent class, and I have a component shim, although I'm still not entirely sure of its functionI have followed all of the steps found in the 9 part MenuBar tutorial, and everything works, except for this one issue.
what is the total maximum file size that the flash cs4 library can hold?? because im experiencing error, right now, i have too many objects in the library.is it because of the too many items in the library?
Currently I am using SWFDOTNET libray for reading and writing swf file, which supports swf file from version 1 to 7.Is there any other open C# source lib for reading and writing swf flash which supports swf file version 8,9 and 10?
I have a list of 700 words that I would like to convert to symbols in Flash for a flash card game. I'm trying to make a game where a random symbol from a slice of the array of symbols will come into game play until the user performs an action.Basically, I'm wondering how I can create an arrayed/indexed library of symbols from a dictionary, for a downloadable Flash game. Does anyone know how I could start to script this? Also, if I want to pair a 'word symbol' with its translation, do I need to use a database? Obviously, because it's a flash-card type game I'm working on, the translated symbol is just as valuable as the original-language symbol.
