ActionScript 3.0 :: Load/Remove External Swf?

Apr 6, 2010

Im once again stuck on actionscript 3.0. I am currently trying to load an external swf into my current swf by using a button. This works perfectly.I then made a button to unload my swf. This works too.

Actionscript Code:
var myrequest:URLRequest=new URLRequest("Extswf.swf");var myloader:Loader=new Loader();myloader.load(myrequest);open_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickButton);close_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, unloadFunction);function clickButton(event:MouseEvent):void{ stage.addChild(myloader);  function unloadFunction(event:Event):void{  stage.removeChild(myloader);}

Looking at this gave me a new idea, which I have seen being done in Actionscript 2.0.Instead of having a close button inside my current swf file, I would like to have the close button INSIDE "Extswf.swf". This would allow me to make the swf exactly what my original idea wanted it to be.

Flash :: Jquery - Open A SWF In ThickBox In Drupal On Page Load And Close It After X Seconds

Dec 11, 2009

After working for a prolonged time on a programming problem, I start to get coding tunnel vision. It makes it harder to draw back and look at the problem from farther away. Hence my question: I am using a Drupal 6 site. When a menu option is clicked, the page opens and a Flash SWF file needs to played in a ThickBox. After 8 seconds, that Thickbox closes.

Opening the SWF file in the Thickbox when a link is clicked is no problem, just like closing the Thickbox afterwards; that's basic javascript. For that I use these:

[Code]...

But opening the Thickbox on load? I can add a link for the user to click, but it should open automatically. I figured out the PHP to have it only open on one specific page. From the Thickbox manual, I learned to open links to images - but not how to open it when the page loads.

ActionScript 3.0 :: External Swfs Load - Remove The Swfs And Sound After A New Button Is Clicked

Nov 13, 2010

I am loading eight external swfs by way of eight buttons with actionscript to remove the swfs and sound after a new button is clicked. This works fine except that as soon as you get to the frame where the actionscript is all the swfs load at one time on top of each other. I don't want any to load until the button is clicked for the right one. MouseEvent listener works but only after all the swfs have loaded. How do I get the swfs to load only when the buttons are clicked. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Making A Generated Movieclip Self Destruct (remove From Screen) After X Seconds?

Jul 7, 2009

I'm making a game where little parcels appear and if they aren't dragged to the correct zone within 5 seconds, they disappear and the player loses points. The problem i'm having is that i'm generating the movieclip parcel objects as follows:

[Code]...

currentParcel is 1 of 3 (randomly selected) movieclip names (redParcel, yellowParcel and orangeParcel).

What I need to do is add some code to say "after a movieclip has been generated...if it is still here in 5 seconds time. It sounds simple but I can't figure it out for the life of me! I've tried setInterval with something like: timedProcess = setInterval(timeCheck, 5000);

but how can I pass the actual movieclip "handle" along with the function so that timeCheck knows which movieclip to delete?

I am trying to make a banner like item for a website I am working on, I have 1 external text file 4 external swf's and 1 external .jpg that I am trying to get to do this: On page load display img1.jpg for 60 seconds and then randomly select a number and then display the file that is associated with that number, for 60 seconds, and do it again, and again until all of the text and swf files have been displayed and then start over from the beginning,
Now I can get it to select a random number and then pull up a file that is associated with that number with this code. I have shortened the time to see it work but still no avail

Flash 10 :: Display An Image If SWF Does Not Load

Jun 26, 2010

We have multiple servers for different offices. SWF is copied to multiple offices and there is script to redirect the path depending on the user location. It works well except that it copies the SWF only once each day. Before it's available, we have to use the path to the staging server location that is only visible to the main office and identified users. If SWF is not copied over, users would see a blank page. I wonder if it's possible to have some kind of Javascript that will display an image (can be stored in the main office while accessed by all) if SWF can't be found. This would make it more usable during our update time.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Refreshing Call To Load Php Every X Seconds?

Jul 20, 2009

I have a project where I have code inside a MC on the main timeline that loads XML via a php file on the server. Once the data is loaded, it sends commands to other MCs and works just fine.However, I need to refresh this XML info every 5 seconds or so. I have tried several things such as interval code and pause code, but the farthest I got was that it paused the initial clip for 5 seconds, then ran the script once, but never again. Or it refreshed, but got stuck on the first frame of the clip.Now I am thinking I would be better off NOT having the code inside the MC, but on the main timeline and just having the action span the course of the main timeline. That way, the call to the php can be refreshed from any frame of the main timeline. Does that sound right?
