ActionScript 3.0 :: Making A Generated Movieclip Self Destruct (remove From Screen) After X Seconds?

I'm making a game where little parcels appear and if they aren't dragged to the correct zone within 5 seconds, they disappear and the player loses points. The problem i'm having is that i'm generating the movieclip parcel objects as follows:

currentParcel is 1 of 3 (randomly selected) movieclip names (redParcel, yellowParcel and orangeParcel).
What I need to do is add some code to say "after a movieclip has been generated...if it is still here in 5 seconds time. It sounds simple but I can't figure it out for the life of me! I've tried setInterval with something like: timedProcess = setInterval(timeCheck, 5000);
but how can I pass the actual movieclip "handle" along with the function so that timeCheck knows which movieclip to delete?

Is a command for AS2 to make my movie file play fullscreen (stretch, fit to screen, anything).
goFullScreen(); is great but it leaves white bars left and right. What's odd is that I'm using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and it seems to display a perfect widescreen that I want as an input and output but once compiled in flash, it's more square leaving me with white bars left and right. The frame for the video in flash is also widescreen looking.
edit: I ended up stretching the width of the frame but if there is a better way through a command that would make my life easier so I don't have to adjust to every monitor that I run this on.

I am doing below actions on button click in sequence, using javascript.
Generating Flash chart Making image of generated flash chart Exporting generated image in to PDF
Everything is dynamic. chart is generated using Open flash chart and are dynamic using php Mysql
All working fine. Problem here is that is takes some time to generate flash chart. So it's creating a blank image or image in middle form flash file exporting it to PDF.

I'm making a game and there's one last thing I need to add, but have no clue of how to do it.You can move the mc with arrow keys and when it hits a certain object I want the mc to stand still (be on-moveable) for 2 seconds or something.
How can I make that mc stands still for a few seconds and then after those seconds make it moveable again?

I have just re-installed Flash CS4 onto two Vista machines (laptop and desktop) and the response time of the authoring screens is ridiculously slow on both. For example with the Actions Panel displayed, it takes 18-20 seconds to move the cursor along a line of code.
All other CS4 appilcations such as Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator all work very well and have no such problems. The computers have plenty of hard disk space and RAM (eg. Acer Aspire Desktop new computer with 1Tb disk and 3Gb Ram) and the CPUs are running at less than 50% (task manager) and there are no other apps running. I have disabled Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 with no effect.

I'm making music visualization in papervision3d using FlashDevelop. The script generates 150 cubes each acting as different tone (from basses with red colors to high notes with blue).The song starts, everything works fine, but after 44 seconds song stops. I hadn't wrote function that would do that. I've turned off every useless visual functions and even papervision3d rendering. The scene is just black and the song still stops playing after 44 seconds.File is included with:

I've tried different song and it stops after 1:10...Flash uses ~30MB of Ram and 50% of my Athlonx2 64 2.6Ghz in action.

i've got 5 images. i want the following things to happen:
1. the placeholder movie clip automatically tweens to adjust to the image's dimensions.
2. the transition between each image is a la: www.barbariangroup.com -- front page when you enter
3. the images stay on the screen for approx. 5 seconds each.

I need to have a series of four numbers appear randomly with fade in and out and stay on screen for a couple of seconds each. These are then linked through to separate movie instances that display relevant information regarding that number and then go back to the random numbers. There are options to randomly display text from an external file, but not library objects within the same movie. I have a cobbled together version using scenes and timeline animation, but it's repetitive. It needs to be more random and effective as a visual element.

I am using an external actionscript file, and I have dynamically loading images that stay on the screen for X amount of seconds (the user can set the value of x), then it loads the next image. However, this user would like for there to be a transition, For Example, have it fade out and have the next image in line fade in after the image has been displayed on the screen for X amount of seconds. This user would also like a loading bar, much like the one on the flash banner here: [URL] between each image transition.
I also have it so when someone hovers over a button, the flash banner stops, once they rollout X is reset to 1 and starts the counter again, and sets the movie to play at frame 1. Here is the actionscript file: [URL]

I have a movieclip that I am adding to the stage dynamically. The movieclip has to be placed at specific coordinates to match the current text field.The coordinates that show on the INFO tab are x=264 and y= 365. However, in order to get the movieClip to match those I have to set x to 398 and y to 200.If I set the coordinates to those in the INFO tab then the movieclip does not show; it appears off stage.

I'm currently reading in data from an XML file. Each attribute of a child is assigned as a property of a movieclip as shown in the code attached. However, what i'd like to do is not have the property names already decided as i don't necessarily know how many attributes a child in the xml file will have. Is it possible to dynamically name the properties depending on what number attribute they are...?

I am loading several images from XML to dynamically generated movieclips (mc_1, mc_2, mc_3...etc.). Then adding all of them into a parent MovieClip - imageContainerMc. I am creating a platform game through the use of arrays, and i am inserting the platforms in a variable called blockHolder. I have successfully inserted generated blocks, but i want to insert my own movieclip, so i replaced this code:

So I have an html page that contains a link which opens another html page with a swf embedded in it. In the swf, the user has to type in some information in order to advance through the swf. The problem is that in order to type in information, the user has to click inside the swf in order to make it work. Is there a way to make the swf automatically active so that they don't have to click inside the window first? [URL]

basically, this is a menu with a scrollPane and clips inside for each line.I have to colorise the line if it is the current line.here is the code :

I've built my first flash application and it's very close to being finished. I have a problem with two buttons that are on the are on the left and right of the stage. When the browser is enlarged these buttons don't remain on the edge of the browser.
