Flash :: Physics Required To Make A Basic Weighing Scale?

Okay so I need to make a basic activity (working Flash/as3) that simulates very basic weighing scales. All the objects that go on to the scales are the same weight.

If you imagine the classic weighing scales [URL]..we are dragging/dropping stuff on to the sides and animating accordingly.

I don't want anything fancy, just the maths required to affect the scales according to how many objects are on each side.

What I'm looking for is probably the angle of rotation of the horizontal arm. Any pointers?

Is there anyone that can write a really basic physics engine including 1 ball and 1 solid object?

So it should be 1 ball and then 1 solid object like a box. The box should be completely solid, the ball shouldn't be able to go through the box, it should just stop when hitting it at any angle.

I am currently working on a website for a studio based in Sydney and have been developing (very basic actionscripting 2.0...) it for the last week or so, and up until now I haven't had a problem.

The site layout is simple and is essential 10 blocks stacked next to each other 5 on the bottom and 5 on the top. I'm trying to make a basic true/false quiz in Flash.It involves a question with two radio buttons with instance names t1 and f1 (true and false).When the user presses check answers a movieclip with instance name yn1 moves to frame 2 or 3 which displays a tick or cross.

This is all working fully, the problem arises if the user presses check answers again.This for some reason turns the ticks to crosses and the crosses to ticks and I have no idea why!?My code is as follows:

I am using Flash Builder 4.5 to build an iPhone app.In order to display ads I plan to use StageWebView and load a webpage containing the ad code.Lets say the ad will be 320x50 pixels.So the Actionscript code would look similar to this:

In the application I have set the applicationDPI="160" so the application is displayed properly when run on iPhone3 and iPhone4.However the content of the StageWebView looks tiny on iPhone4.If I do adView.drawViewPortToBitmapData() the bitmap's size is OK.how to make the StageWebView content to scale accordingly, so it looks OK regardless of the screen DPI?

My website is going to have a main wrapper that is set to a max-width property for compatible browsers. It will stretch to 940px across at max. When scaled down I would like the swf to scale proportionately with it. Like an image with width percent applied. The flash movie has the dimensions of 940 × 360 pixels.

I can't seem to figure out the correct attributes to add to the embed tag to get it to do this.I am currently using jquery flash embed, but am open to other options, though this is my ideal.In the example I have set the flash background to black.

When resize the browser window the flash movie doesn't scale proportionately to the div, only the photo does, leaving a blank canvas (black), while the div height stays the same. I can't add a height value in the CSS.How do I make this scale correctly? Adding a noscale param only crops the image. The swf's height doesn't scale also.

I am trying to make a basic timeline for a class but I can't figure out the coding to use.  I have worked on an older version- macromedia flash but I can't get cs4 to work for me.What I am trying to do is have a button that is the date.  When someone clicks on it or rolls over it information about that date is highlighted. I want the box with the text to turn from grey to white then back.I can make the button and get that to work but I can't seem to get in further on it. Meaning that once I try to connect it to the box with the text everything starts to go crazy.

I'm having an issue when it comes to line thickness on movie clips, when a movieclip is flipped the line thickness vanishes due to Flash thinking I'm squishing the MovieClip. Is there any way I can make Flash not bother the line thickness when changing scale or some sort of alternative? Or is my only choice to kill line thickness altogether.

Introduction: I think Nape is a relatively new engine so some of you may not know it. It's supposedly faster than box2d and I like that there is decent documentation. I am decent at AS3's basic functionality, but every time I try to implement some kind of engine or framework I can't even seem to get it to work. With Nape I feel I got a little further than before but I still got stuck.

My problem: I'm using Adobe CS5, I managed to import the SWC file like described here. Next I tried to copy the source of one of the demo's like this one and get it to work but I keep getting errors. I've made a character, and used the bone tool to make it move in runtime.This works fine, but now I want to add gravity/physics, so I can throw my character and it lands on the ground like a real ragdoll. I've got a project thats getting a bit big, so Im taking the actionscript out into separate as files. I want all the basic functions to be in BasicFunctions.as and the make a library for more specific functions. I find that a lot of people use the import statement but I cant get that to work with a simple Hello World trace, yet the include statement works fine (see attached). I understand that import/include work differently, but which is the better method? If import, then is that heavier to work with. Any rate, what's the best way to organise code when it gets to the 1000+ lines?
