View 3 RepliesI have a website [URL]. I added a flash mp3 player that plays a sound clip when you go to the page. I know Flash doesn't work on the iPhone OS, but is there a way to get this type of mp3 player to work on an iPhone? I'm thinking maybe a javascript mp3 player. What I would ultimately want is to replace my flash mp3 player with a different mp3 player and have it so the player is available on Windows and Mac computers as well as iPhone devices.

View 10 RepliesIs there a documented best practice for providing alternate content for Flash in Safari on iOS devices?I am getting white space where my Flash animation would normally appear, and management is displeased. I need to display alternative content in this space.
View 1 RepliesI'm currently using this to detect if the visitors have flash installed or not and if not right away I'm assuming they are iPhone users but then now it seems it doesn't always work like I wish to because sometime they being redirect to the version of flash of my site and sometime the person who got flash installed also redirect to an iPhone version of my site.[code]the thing is how would I detect if they are iPhone/iPad/iPod/AppleTV something like that and redirect them to the flash=false URL and if they are non of the above will be redirect to flash=true?
View 3 RepliesAs announced, it is now possible to develop Iphone applications with Actionscript. My question is: is it possible to control iphone devices such as the GPS receiver and/or camera using actionscript? Is there somekind of "AS3 for the Iphone"-framework? I know my question is short, but this is all I need to know for now.
View 1 Replieshow to use filters (specifically a glow filter) on a mobile devices (specifically the iPhone) when using GPU rendering and high resolution. At the time, there was no answer... filters were unsupported. Period.
I can report that I have gotten a color matrix filter for desaturation AND a glow filter working on the iPhone and the iPad using GPU rendering and high resolution.
The solution, in a nut shell is as follows:
1: Create your display object... ie: a sprite.2. Apply your filter to the sprite like you normally would.3. Create a new bitmapdata and then draw that display object into the bitmap data.4. Put the new bitmapdata into a bitmap and then put it on the stage or do what you want.
When you draw the display object into the bitmapdata, it will draw it WITH THE FILTER!So even if you put your display object onto the stage, the filter will not be visible, but the new bitmapdata will!
Here is a sample app I created and tested on the iphone and ipad
[Code].....
Problem: When doing anAPP to test it out in my smartphone devices. I tested it on my computer and it works fine. But in devices, im not able to scroll the textbox down/up because my devices dont have a scroll wheel to scroll up/down.Assuming that im looking for something like this: When I use my fingers to touch on the textbox and slide it upwards, the textbox will scroll down
View 2 RepliesI just finished with developing my application by Adobe Flash Professional CS5 and I wonder if this will be visible to iPhones 4 because support for Retina displays was added since CS5.5.
There is section in my info.plist:
<key>UIDeviceFamily</key>
<array>
<string>1</string>
</array>
I wonder to what extend google can index informations given on Flash websites and Flash elements....can anybody give me details?

View 1 RepliesWhat makes a camera compatible with flash? I have a camera I purchased from IDS Imaging and it shows up in my camera list in as3 with print out the array made from Camera.names. But when I go to use it, it just doesn't show up. I do have a lens on it, and it can see it working when I used the IDS software provided for testing. I've also been able to make it work in c#, but I want to use it for a flash app I'm developing.
View 1 RepliesWe are on PC - CS5 Flash. We don't do very much at all in flash we try to use Java instead. But is there a way to get this to work? Can someone send instructions.
View 1 RepliesCorrect me if I'm wrong, but it seems that apps created with Flash CS5.5 will not install on some iOS devices, including iPod Touch 2nd generation. For example, I see the error message stating that the app was not installed "because it is not compatible with this iPod". The same app was successfully installed when published with CS5.0
If this is true, by publishing such apps to the iTunes App store, a developer would invite negative comments from unhappy people who still use older devices. And since there's no way for the developer to respond, using CS5.5 sounds like a quick way to get negative reviews.
we are developing a flash app that works like a video-chat (form 2 or more users) and streaming ,
Does anybody know if the Flash player for mobile devices will work with this or not? Are there any boundaries?
The following swf file does not render properly in many versions of IE on various Windoze platforms, but does on others and in my Mac OS Snow Leopard on Safari and almost correctly (small error) in FF:

The following swf file does not pull up the assets at least in my Mac OS Snow Leopard on FF but does do so in Safari. Also same problem on IE 8 on either Vista or XP (think Vista):

That same swf file, embedded in a really stripped down plain Jane html doc as follows, does not render anything in Mac OS Snow Leopard with FF but has no problem in Safari:

Flash doesn't have browser compatibility issues?
Had FF4.0.12 then your forum told me to try FF3.6.17. Just made problems worse. Downloaded updates 5 days ago to Adobe and Firefox and things went haywire. Computer hangs-must do hard reboot. Could not maneuver on Facebook-hangs, cursor hangs, kicked out of games. Now cannot get into any of my games. I need to know if they are going to work together. Is there something I need to do? Another plugin I should be using?

View 1 RepliesCurrently when we are putting a movie into a web site design we are using flv files. Recently I was told that flv files are not recognized on mobile devices such as phones and ipad's. If that is the case how should we be handling our movie files?
View 1 RepliesI tried to apply a filter to a video on mobile phones and had a strange effect:
When I apply the filter to a 24 FPS source video the resulting frame-rate after applying the filter drops to about 7 FPS. But if I use a 8 FPS source video the frame-rate is even lower at about 3-4 FPS. I expected an higher, or at least equal resulting framer-rate with the 8 FPS source video. What's the reason for this behavior?
I use the Flash Player 10.1 for Android 2.2 and the Google Nexus One.
I'm interested in developing for the iPad and iPhone, but I'd prefer not to learn Apple's whole development stack (and good golly, I sure don't want to go back to manual memory management). Oh, sure, I could learn it, but I don't have that level of commitment to the environment at this point. I've got professional experience with Flex already, so I'm intrigued by Adobe's move to make Flash/Flex compile to the iPhone and iPad. My question is: how promising of a development path will Adobe's Slider be? Are we likely to see Slider publicly available in a reasonable timeframe (Adobe: "An early mobile branch of the Flex framework is expected to be available in 2010")? Are we likely to see reasonable performance? Are there development hurdles that haven't become clear yet? Heck, is it all just vaporware? There's pretty limited information available so far, as far as I've seen, but I'm interested in people's predictions, even if they're speculative.
View 6 RepliesI am looking to develop basic client server data application to add value to a website.
The website is .net based and opening an api such as asmx web service, json or xml would be simple.
Can anyone tell me what are the limitations - technically, what is possible with flash and also what Apple consider to be good practice.
Does anyone have any Actionscript code examples?
I'm interested in building a thick client application for my existing web services that will run on the IPhone. Flash finally seems to be an option, so I thought about using Flex for client side development.
However, since flash apps are not natively supported by the IPhone, but only through a wrapper, I was wondering if these apps can persist any data. Data entered by the user should eventually be transmitted to the web service, but until then I want it to persist even if the Iphone should run out of power.
Is this possible? Or does the Iphone flash wrapper make it impossible to access the hard disk?
I have a doubt, can we make iPhone apps with flash CS5?

View 1 RepliesI'm wondering if the flash packager for iPhone allows you to somehow save data in some kind of database maybe using Core Data or any other form? If it just allows you to export some kind of actionscript based game but doesn't allow for saving data that'd be kinda weak I'd assume so they must have a way (?).
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create iphone apps using Flash CS5.5 and I have a doubt... I just created a simple app which plays a long sound (more than 5 min).
When the phone auto-locks, my sounds stop. If I unlock the phone, my audio resumes...
How could I do to avoid the lock, or dont interrupt the sound when the device auto-lock?
I've created my app and it works great. But when I press home button on my iphone, my app minimizes and when I open it from multitasking apps, it simply restarts. Is it possible to freeze or pause the game instead of stop?
View 1 RepliesHave been trying out flash on iPhone and am wondering how i would make it so datagrids and lists are scrollable with your finger like they are on native apps? I need to be able to scroll with flick of a finger and also select an item when u tap one. Is there any information out there about this?
