View 1 RepliesI want to capture audio samples from the microphone in my adobe AIR application and then save them to an flv file. I have the following code:
mic.setSilenceLevel(0, DELAY_LENGTH);
mic.codec = SoundCodec.SPEEX;

The problem is that I suspect that in my handler I am only getting raw samples and not compressed samples. The reason for my suspicion is that the number of bytes I get per message is equal to 20 ms (which my definition is 1 speex frame) of raw audio and not compressed audio. Also the number of bytes doesnt change if I change the encodeQuality. Reading the documentation suggests that adobe will only compress the audio before transmission to a flash media server or another peer. Is there a way to publish and read the stream locally in order to get compressed samples. ? Or any other way to get the compressed samples?
I am creating conference application in flash cs4. I need to record meeting like adobe connect. How they record meeting?

I keep pressing the down key down and also press the left key down...
now it moves left...(not so good, i want it to move both left and down, how do i do that?)
now i release the left key but am still on the down key....

View 2 RepliesI develop failover fms application with server-side action script. But i have a problem that FMS can't continue to record stream with record mode "append".
Environment: FMS 4.5.1 r484 on CentOS 5.5/6.0
Goals:
I have 2 same data streams in failover application and republish primary to livepkgr application.
I have to store of last 10 hours intact recorded video (DVR).
Failover app logic:
1. I create NetConnection and NetStream to livepackager;
2. When primary stream is connected it attach the primary stream to livePackager NetStream
3. If primary stream is disconnected it reattach the backup stream to livePackager NetStream
Problem: I have testing environment. It stop primary stream every 5 min, and started primary stream 5 min after stopping.
It work's, fine, but after a few hours testing LIVEPACKAGER falls. It can't record a stream, NetStream.Record.Start -> NetStream.Record.NoAccess -> NetStream.Record.Stop
Search a solution: I try to relaunch recording process and have no success. try to shutdown/start livepackager, it's same, try to restart server, same no success.
I cant stream.clear() or record with mode "record" cause it clears my dvr cache, I cant clean stream directory in livepackager application.

Is it possible to copy the mouse movements, but rather than making a movieclip follow it exactly, to make up with the mouse move the movieclip up and left at a certain angle?
View 17 RepliesI am trying to do an example of collision in Action Script 3. It's a character that should stop when it hits a platform. It works well when I move only to the right, left, up or down directions, but if I try to move in the diagonals, if the characteris colliding with the platform, the object goes to a different area of the screen.

View 5 RepliesI am working on an interactive guide with some sort of different maps that are supposed to move together depending on where you are if that makes any sense...well no it doesn't. ok the main clip pans side ways on mouse move using a tutorial from this website. And when this clip slides along x up to a certain point, I need to get two other clips to also slide to a precise point depending on the first one position, one only along x and the other one on both x and y. OF course i also have to set several key position on the mainclip to mave the two clip at a different place each time the main clip reaches a different point. For now I have been trying things using mc_tween2 like that:

i already made a working tooltip.now i want the tooltip to be dragged by the mousepointer movements....but the tooltip should always keep the same y-axis position....something like maybe:

So I'm designing a game for my flash class final, and I want to have my character spin based on mouse movements. So if I move the mouse to the left, character spins counterclockwise, to the right, clockwise. But I also need to have things spin with the character, like the gun he's holding. And if the gun shoots projectiles, how would I keep the direction of the projectiles constant with the character's direction? Also, I'm using wasd for walking, then the mouse for directional control, so how do I make it so W doesn't make the character go down in Y value, but it makes the character travel at a velocity in whatever direction it's facing (so if the character is facing like northeast, pressing W will make him walk northeast. Then pressing A facing the same direction would make him strafe northwest)?

I have written some code with thtutorials, but I can't get it to work the way I want it to. I am extremely new to ActionScript, so I'm probably doing everything wrong. Right now all my game does is pause for a certain amount of time, and then the object just jumps from one location to another extremely quickly and doesn't stop.

I have tried with all latest updates from adobe site. My doubt is does adobe.utils.Extension class is available in licensed version of Adobe Flash CS5 proffesional?

View 5 RepliesI have two different movieclips on my stage, one with a number of buttons and one with a moving object that I want to control with my buttons. The reason for having the buttons in their own movieclip is that I want to be able to move them as well. Let's say I have an object in "myMovieClip" that moves between three different positions when I press three different buttons, the buttons might say "up", "left" and "right".

How do I get my movements to start where it last stoped? If my object starts out at the "Up"-position and I press "Left", I want it to move from Up to Left and if I then press "Right" I want it to move from Left to Right. If my object is at Left and I press Left I want it to stay where it is.
