Flash :: Targeting Multiple Buttons And Get Different Value By Clicking Different Button
Aug 8, 2011
I want to target multiple buttons and get different value by clicking different button.
Suppose there are 3 buttons: "button01", "button02, "button03".
This is my code:
var targetArr:Array = ["button01","button02","button03"];
for (var i:int = 0; i < targetArr.length; i++)
{
var target = getChildByName(targetArr[i]);
[Code]....
Instead of getting different value by clicking different button, I constantly get "3" as the value. I want: clicking "button01" will get "0" as the value, clicking "button02" will get "1" as the value, and clicking "button03" will get "2" as the value. How to do it?
I've got a huge survey I've made with lots and lots of groups of radio buttons. There are maybe 60 questions with 6 buttons each. Of these, I have a couple of groups that are really misbehaving. What's happening is for one question, the first button in the group seems independent of the rest. That is, I can check the first radio button and it never turns off when clicking others in the same group.
All my code is right. I'm using the exact same code with all the other groups and only two groups aren't working right. Ha. That's the funny thing, though, because everything works fine IN Flash, but publishing to a web page, these two groups stop working right.FWIW, I've set the first instance of the radio button with a name like "G10" then all the buttons in the group have the group name "Q10".I've tried several ways of fixing this including deleting the whole group and adding them again, copying a working group and renaming the parts. Nothing. The one thing that has worked (and don't ask me why) but adding a new single radio button with a new instance and group name has fixed other problem groups but not these two.
Is there any way to click on a button (or movieclip) in Flash and somehow get the current framelabel that the instance happens to be on? my_button_instance.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickInstance, false, 0, true); private function clickInstance(e:MouseEvent):void { trace(trace-out-the-frame-label-here?); }
I am using actionscript 3 to make a point and click game. On frame 1 there are two buttons, button 1 and 2. On frame 3 there are two buttons, button A and B. I want it so that after I click button 1 on frame 1, button A on frame 3 will be hidden or when I click button 2 on frame 1, button B on frame 3 will be hidden. The buttons that are hidden do not do anything when you click them.
I am creating some system simulations using Flash and I would like the user to press Ctrl+C on the keyboard, the thing is, it works with other keys but C does not work, what might be the problem?
The other thing is, I would like the user to "right-click" on the mouse instead of "left-click" so as to go to the next frame,how can I achieve this one without bringing the context menu.
I have a problem when making flash applications with more than one frame that has symbols placed on it in that I can't declare all of the event listeners for the objects at the same time and I have found that even if I put them all on the first frame, add the event listeners, then click through to the next frame then the buttons won't work on that frame.
Does anyone have any idea how I could solve this? I did consider myself a fairly competent AS3 programmer until I realised I had no idea how to handle this sort of thing. Solved: I initialised the clips from my external class and then addChild'd and removeChild'd them as I needed to and placed their x and y on addChilding.
I have two div layers in an html page. Is there a way to hide or show them by clicking a button in flash? I have searched online and haven't been able to find something that works.
I think the title is self explanatory... anyway, I wanna make my buttons do a cool animation (like roll away or explode) but until AFTER they're clicked,
I am having problem with flash main menu it reloads when ever you click a different button to another page on it. I am using Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 and Adobe Flash CS4 Professional. Is there any codes that can create some kind of cache so we can open next page without reloading flash? Site: replace (dot) with "." please [URL]
I would like to be able to click a button on a flash menu, programmatically.
This means, unfortunately, that tabbing over to it or hard-coding the X and Y coordinates of the button will not work (due to using multiple threads, neither of these approaches works while running in the background).
I tried doing this with Javascript, but automating it that way does not work because the individual items are inaccessible in Flash.
The reason I'm asking is because I'm attempting to load-test our application which interacts with a flash menu in order to build a report. From what I can tell, the low-end or open-source load-testing utilities don't offer much support in the way of flash navigation.
i have a series of buttons in an array, and i want to change the alpha of all of the buttons when a button (outside of this array) is clicked. i can change the alpha of all of the buttons inside the for loop, but not when the button is clicked. (the button is functional and being referenced correctly, as the trace does work.)what do i need to do differently to be able to control these buttons?
Code: Select all var theBtns:Array = [btn1, btn2, btn3, btn4, btn5, btn6, btn7, btn8]; for(i=0;i<theBtns.length;i++){
I had the following script which worked fine for my buttons which were sitting on the stage and are called 'btn1', 'btn2', etc... However I wanted to animate all the buttons so have put them all into a movie clip called buttons, but now my script doesn't work, I have tried changing all the this targets to _root.buttons.this,
My Flash animation is basically similar to this link provided by Adobe Developers.The Flash is about star moving in depth space to makes the star looks alike in 3D.I am going to implement the button to change the color of that object (star).I'm creating 3 new symbols and draw each a rounded-square button filled with red, green and blue respectively.So, I wish to click that button when running, and when I select red button, the star will changing to red color for all.
I've seen a tutorial for changing the background inside of flash based on buttons to click. However, these colors were palettes and not of backgrounds such as jpeg. What I'd like to do is to create 3 buttons and place them on my flash website. These three buttons allow the user to click on them thus changing the background. So if you're visiting the about page and click one of these buttons, I don't want the user to go back to the home page after clicking.
having a problem with targeting multiple motion tweensin Flash CS4. I am using AS2 and attempting to change thevisibility of eight separate motion tweens (visible false and thentrue). I want to be able to affect each tween separately. I amlooking to activate visibility as follows:
if (triggerclip._currentframe == 2) { sword._visible=true; }
I'm developing a game for Android tablets using Flash Builder 4.5. It has been implemented successfully on Galaxy Tab 7.0", but now I need to edit it in order to fit all android tablets. I attempted searching for information on this, but nothing I found was useful.
Should I use multiple graphics to target devices with different resolutions and, if so, how then should I detect the correct resolution? Or, on the other hand, should I use just one graphic and scale it to fit all resolutions required?
My flash file creates multiple slideshow instances. These slideshow's are each controlled by some buttons and AS code that reside within the attached container clip. The code for buttons and slideshow nav is as follows (this resides on first frame of attached movie, not on _root):
[Code]...
The problem is that instead of just controlling the slideshow for which you are viewing, the keys control all other slideshows as well at the same time. Where the buttons, when you click them, control only the slideshow that they are contained in. I've tried writing an absolute path to the specific slideshow movie in question like:
I'll try and make this as clear as i can, so as not to waste your time. I think it's something really simple i'm just missing...On the main timeline, i've got a movie clip ("mc_A") that contains two other movie clips ("mc_1" and "mc_2").at the end of it's timeline, I put a button in "mc_1" to play "mc_2". I'm using
on (release) { telltarget ("_root.mc2") { play () ;
What I'm trying to do:I have an external JPG. I want to treat it as a button. on mouse over, I want it to fade in. However, I'm having problems understanding how to target this in my SWF.So 2 questions, can you target an external JPG to a Movie Clip inside my button? how do I target that?
my friend and I are trying to make a GUI for a CD that autoruns when you pop it in your computer. Now my friend can write the batch files to autorun the swf, but i guess what I'm actually asking is how to run programs or batch files from flash by clicking on a button. We tried just useing the getURL AS to link it but it doesn't run it (kinnda makes sense now...).
I am trying to target multiple tweens, trying to turn their visibility false/true. I have named each tween in the tween properties box, and I have targeted them like this: plane.plane2.tween1._visible=false (and so on), but no go! Only the first of the seven is actually affected--the others are not.
but when I test my movie, my navigation buttons flash rapidly and make their "clicking sound" over and over and over..... Could this be a "layers" issue? My navigation buttons reside on a "global content" layer which sits below a "sections content" layer..... and there IS content above these buttons on that layer. I'd try re-arranging the layers and testing the movie, but I am not at home right now... and I was curious to see what some of you might think before I got back home tonight.
I have a main flash movie that loads three external movies, the external movie buttons don't work when loaded onto the stage. In each external swf thats loaded, the button actionscript is in this form:
HTML Code: on(release) { _root.gotoPage(2); }
And this works when each swf is loaded stand-alone. But not when loaded as an external swf.With the numbers ranging from 1-19 as far as pages. How should I edit the code so that these buttons work when loaded externally?
I attached a movie that I am working on. I use the duplicate actionscript to put several buttons on the stage when clicked. I then want to be able to use the color picker to change the background behind the buttons. As of right now it only works on 1 button and by changing the 6 in this code for (i=1; i<6; i++) to 5, 4, 3, 2 or 1 it will only change that button. How can I get them all to change at once?
How to solve this error as it will keep popping out whenever I click on the play button of the game I'm creating.
