View 1 Repliesi created a two layer in time line in one layer there is a movieclip called mc1. In the same layer in 15th frame i have another movie clip mc2. Inside the movieclip mc2 i created another movie clip at frame10 now if i clik the the mc1 on first frame The movie clip should goto and stop at tenth frame

I am loading an external movie with buttons... I would like the loaded movie to goto a specific frame. This is the code to load the new movie

I have a time line with 2 frames only. On frame 1 I have a Movie Clip that contains a gallery and its called "gal1" on frame 2 I have another Movie clip called "gal2". Now I have 2 buttons to call each of these galleries which this code in them[code]...
But when I am in gal1 and I want to click on the second botton to call gal2 with the same exact code attached to button2, it doesn't work!

I need to make a function (inside Flash) that will let a swf find out what date it is (each time it is loaded from a server) and then - according to the date - display a frame designated to that date. Optionally, I could have the swf load another swf based on the date.Originally I had planned to make some php wrap-around that would do the loading of different swf's for me - but this is not an option since the swf may soon be uploaded to a server that I cannot feed with php-documents (I don't get access for that - swf only!)So now I must find a way to do this within the swf. But as of right now I am clueless.
One thing I did learn during my googling the past many hours is that the "Date class" in Actionscript is risky - in that it 'reads' what date the end user has on his/her machine. So in the event that some user has the date misconfigured that will screw up what my swf will display.Therefore I am hoping that I could somehow do a variation of php's "echo date" and get the date from the server - but inside Flash. And then have that bit of data call for a certain frame/scene/loaded swf.
I need help with the 'If' statement I want it so when i click a button till the socre gets to 5 I want it to go to another frame.

View 7 RepliesI'm learning AS3 and I can't get this to work for me. In AS2 I would add a unique var to my buttons. If you clicked any of them they would just play() the main time line. Then when they got to the next keyframe it would look for the var and then go to the corresponding keyframe. How do I do this in AS3?

I have a small flash site made up of a number of pages all on the one timeline.
The query is this. When i release a button i want the timeline to roll on for x frames (fading components out) before going to the frame that button links to (The beginning of the new page).
I have no idea what AS to use for this.
No matter where in the timeline you are, the button should fade out that area and then skip to a new one.
i see a code back in my old days of flash pro 8.0of gotoAndPlay() and stop(),etc;now its as3.0when i tried my old codes b4 with as3.0 it doesnt work..well my button is named start_btn.. and all my buttons is on the same frame as it is..but i wanted for it jump to the next frame where most of the actions of my flash takes place..can some1 guide me thru this?im jst new to cs4..and lots of things has changed when i jumpd from pro 8.0 to cs4.
View 2 RepliesI want the user to click two specific buttons (order doesn't matter), then gotoAndPlay a new frame. In other words, the user must click two buttons before going to the next frame. I've been trying different methods, but I am honestly not brilliant with conditional statements or booleans.
Button1 then Button2 = next Frame

I'm using Flash CS4 with AS3. I'm building a website for a friend the problem I have. When a user clicks on a button I want it to play a movie clip then stop at a specfic frame. I want all the buttons to play the same movieclip but go to a different frame.
The current actionscript I am using is located on frame 1 is:

This allows me to navigate to the right frame but does not play for obvious reasons, if I use the gotoAndPlay function its carries on playing to the end of the movie.
how do i export specific frames not all frame. ex: if flash has 1 to 200 frames. here i want to export 51 to 150 frames as a movie. if there is any command or plugin to export movie like this.

I have a number of buttons (that are in an array), I want to add a function that basically says:
If the name of the button that you have just clicked on == (is the same as the name of the scene label) then go to that scene: Now I have used this handler function which seems to work O.K, except for the fact that it keeps trying to goto the FRAME label instead of SCENE label.
I keep getting the error message when i click on a button saying:

But how do I change it so it goes to the scene label name and not the frame label name? I Tried adding quote marks like

Just finally making the transition from AS2 to AS3.All i need to do at this point is make two buttons which will control the movie to goto next frame and previous frame. I have gotten how to make the buttons go to a specified frame number and also a button to go to a specified external url but no success in making a simple next/previous pair of buttons.

I am designing a website with html pages and flash pages. When the user open a flash page (embedded in an html page) i would want to have a preload script. I found a couple of them but they all need to start at the first frame and have a go to and play script after. So my problem is that I already have an important script that make a image follow my mouse and the script needs to be on the first frame to. Is there any way to have both or maybe to have the preloader on a separate file or even change the way my script is written ?
