I'm using the jQuery oembed plugin to display videos from a Vimeo feed. The only problem is they display over the top of my navigation menu. I have tried setting the z-index of the menu but this makes no difference. A common suggestion seems to be to set the wmode parameter to transparent or opaque. However, passing this as a parameter to the oembed function makes no difference.
View 3 RepliesIm the new kid on the block so I apologyze if I'm not doing very well.Everything works fine till the moment in which I set the wmode param of the flash movie to transparent, then the movie completely disappears (it loads, as I can listen at the sounds) but it doesn't show.I would like to have a full background image with the transparent flash movie over it, that's all, if somebody can tell me how to fix this or even a new way to do it, it will be so good!!Here is my code, so simple, by the way:

I use jquery.flash() plugin to embed flash into my website. The problem is that in IE6 this doesn't work. I tried swfobject (1.5), also, but it gives me (sometimes) some strange errors with n null or something like that, so I decided to use jquery.flash() also. (I use both swfobject and jquery.flash() now)
So, basically, swfobject works but gives me that strange error sometimes (all browsers), so NOT all my flash banners work, and jquery.flash() WORKS in all other browsers, except IE6.

has anyone gotten this [URL]..to work with aps.net mvc 3? I can't seem to decode the image, using the WebImage class or BitmapImage. I've tired to do this with Silverlight, but I'm really unsure on how to upload the image. I do not need to save the image, I just want to process it, what im really looking to do is read a bar-code via web app.
I just can't seem to find a good guide to uploading an image from Silverlight or flash to my MVC app.
A friend of mine has created a movie for my site, it's in .flv format. I've heard of the popular flash player called flowplayer, but I have a bad feeling such a player will not work on the ipad and other devices which do not support flash. Is there a way to play a video in the flash format through a non-flash player so that the content can be viewed on all devices?

The player should be invisible one-pixel object that interacts with javascript. When i'm calling javascript functions from within flash objects (using ExternalInterface.call()) it works fine.

What are the difference between using an AJAX or JQuery upload plugin vs. using a Flash upload plugin for browser uploads, especially as it relates to the uploading of very large fies (1-2GB). Is there any reason to go with one over the other?

View 9 RepliesI'm trying to write some apps that will include some image processing for facial, object recognition. There's a ton of stuff out there (mostly from 2009) that doesn't work very well and I want to give it a try.
Anyway, I have the webcam feeding a video object I've addChild()ed to the stage and that works aces. I want to make a copy of that video stream and plop it on the stage right next to it. This works, but the framerate suffers:

So this puts a pixelated version of the webcam feed right next to it just like I wanted, but it seems to lug down the processor. Logic would tell me that I'm piling on infinate amounts of "goat" to my movieClip (mc). I try to dispose() the bmp, but then it stops working.
I am having some troubles embedding videos in a jQuery dialog. It displays and plays all well but it is always in front of other dialogs. When I pass another dialog over the one with the video the video stays on top of everything.

So my code is:Click the link show the div.I'm using the jquery flash embed object.[code]When I repeat this code and get the second video to load on click. It works in all browsers. The only issue I'm running into is that in IE6 the video keeps playing and in other browsers it stops the video your watching and loads the one you clicked on. I looked into using the .remove object or the .append to a div, but I can't seem to get that to work and if it does work will it play nice with IE6.
View 1 RepliesI'm building a website at the moment and in the design it shows a scrollwheel in the form of this example.I've got no problem creating this using something like scrollable or some other similar plugins, however, they don't allow you to click and drag through the images and "flick" them in such a way as the flash example. Do you know of any plugins that allow you to do this, or even know how to modify something like Scrollable to do this?

All browsers display div over my flash except IE9.
On my homepage, when I enter, I want only the flash to appear first while the rest of the content is being loaded in the background. Once the flash has loaded, display it for 5 seconds then fade out to reveal the content. Is this possible with jQuery?

updateObject is the loop for all my objects. I have one centralized loop and in that loop it calls on an array of objects that have been placed on the stage. all of them containing the method updateObject. to update the status of the object. addGameChild() is a encapsulated addChild() , that not only adds the object to the stage, but places it in a array so it's updateObject() method can be called on. it is also used to make it easier for garbage collection.
I was wondering if there is a shortcut so i can always set a MovieClip to display at the tippy top of the display list?
Also i understand that WebViewLayer will always display above the display list.
My site has a jQuery drop-down navigation menu and that is displayed beneath the Flash. How can I display the navigation menu above the Flash object? I tried with setting wmode="transparent" but it is not work.
View 1 Repliesan answer here opening swf files using WebKit framework says the following about running SWF movies inside WebView inside Cocoa application: "because the Flash plug-in is not garbage-collection supported, the plug-in won't work if your application uses garbage collection".
Meanwhile, an answer here Flash AS3 animation in Mac vs Windows discusses Flash garbage collection on Mac (likely in Safari) and says that it sucks but it does exist.
So is the first claim about no garbage collection in WebView false or is the WebView plugin distinct from Safari plugin?
