ActionScript 3.0 :: DrawRoundRect Method - Any Way To Smooth Out Corner?

In drawing a rounded rectangle using the drawRoundRect method is there anyway to smooth out the corner. In my example the corners look like crap.
Code:
var rect:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
var color:Number = Number("0x"+listColor);
rect.graphics.beginFill(color);
rect.graphics.lineStyle(1, 0x000000);
rect.graphics.drawRoundRect(0,0,w,h,5);

Actionscript 3 :: DrawRoundRect Rendering Inconsistent Corner Radii?

Sep 14, 2011

I'm trying to draw a shape with quite precise rounded corners, I'd settle for anything around 3px. Unfortunately Flash has other ideas, and is creating a rounded rectangle with four seemingly different radii. My code is below:

var sq:Shape = new Shape();
sq.graphics.beginFill(0x000000,1);
sq.graphics.drawRoundRect(20,20,20,20,4,4);[code]....

The corners are noticeably different. If I were using a bigger radius it might not be so much of a problem, but because of the small radius of the corners the square just looks odd. Have I missed the drawRoundRectEvenly functio

ActionScript 3.0 :: DrawRoundRect - Corners Of A Rectangle Are Not Very Consistent When The Curve/ellipse Values Are Very Low?

Jun 1, 2009

The corners of a rectangle drawn with drawRoundRect are not very consistent when the curve/ellipse values are very low (2-5px or so), most visibly when there's a border added.Even with hinting turned on, there's still a pretty ugly difference. When set to 3px (horizontal and vertical), the right-side corners look pretty close at around 3px, but the left-side corners are very off, and both look to be maybe 1px curved.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Controlling Alpha For An Object On The Timeline?

Sep 14, 2011

I recently bought an mp3-player coded in Flash and it works great, except for the fact that I do not want it to appear constantly on the timeline.

The mp3-player is generated throught code, so I was wondering if there is a way to control the alpha of a variable named mp3playerContainer and set it to 0? I have navigation points on frame 25 and 55 where I want this mp3player to not be visible. Could it be an idea to use "currentFrame", so that if currentFrame equals 25 or 55, then alpha of the variable mp3playercontainer will be set to 0?

Actionscript 3 :: Memory Gain Changing Alpha Value Of An Object?

Dec 30, 2011

for a periodic table tool I'm making, I've incorporated an effect that changes the alpha value whenever I hover over an element (pretty standard). I've noticed a mysterious gain in memory when hovering over my elements; using SYSTEM.TOTAL_MEMORY - there would be about 0.005MB increase in memory usage when I hover over an element, which isn't relinquished when I move my mouse off. However, if I move my mouse back on again, there isn't a second memory gain.

[Code]...

Does anyone know why this memory gain is happening when the alpha value is changed? And curiously why it only happens once? Some extra info: my Element class is a MovieClip, with a couple of TextFields, primitive variables and a MovieClip in it. It has had its mouseChildren property set to false (and buttonMode property set to true).

IDE :: Alpha Tween (ease In From 0 To 1) An Object On Stage Over 25 Frames?

I want to alpha tween (ease in from 0 to 1) an object on stage over 25 frames. And after the tween is over i want the object to persist on the stage and in the timeline. How can i do that?afaik i have to extend the tween in the timeline beyond the keyframe with 1 alpha. But when i do that this also extends the time of the tween from 0 to 1 and it actually lowers the alpha 1 in the keyframe automatically to some figure that fits with the ease in which apparently spans the entire tween.

Actionscript 3.0 :: Alpha Gradient Masks An Object Which Will Contain Text And Images

I want to mask an object which will contain text and images. I want the mask to be feathered at the bottom end, for a nice smooth effect when it animates into place. For my masking object, I've created a movie clip with a gradient, using a matrix fill. When I apply the mask, it works, but only as a rectangle. The feathered area (the grey bit) still masks completely. I'm stumped with this one. I've searched around for an explanation, but can't get it to work.
