IDE :: Object With Alpha=0 Has Some Kind Of White Border Around It?
Mar 5, 2010
I'm not sure what is causing this but I have objects that are transparent on the stage till they are called (object.alpha==0). The background image is of a room with fairly bright light. But when the background changes to a dark room the transparent items in front of it have white outlines around them...making the file unusable.
1) I created a movieclip animation and set the speed at a higher rate of fps than the site i later added the animation too - so the other animations I have are at the correct speed - i had forgotten to change the default from 12fps when I did those. Is there an easy way to change the speed besides changing the document fps - I don't want my animated sequence to speed up or slow down as I've just got it to the way I want it. I'm hoping that isn't too a stupid question
2) I thought that when you published the flash site it would 'crop' itself to the document size you set? I've tried uploading the published site and I have a white space around the top & bottom which looks terrible! I tried changing the size in dreamweaver but it's so hit & miss, sometimes it changed (but resized the whole flash site) or just didn't change anything. there must be something I'm doing wrong or an easier way to do this.
I've uploaded (for testing to see what it looked like - it's still very much in it's infancy and it's slow to load as I need to change an animation size - didn't prepare the raster images for web in one of the animations - trying to sort that now) on the end of my other website so that you can see what I mean: [URL](oh, and the background blue has a low opacity so I created a gif image to add to the html background but it's looks a completely different colour (it's the same hex colour code?!?!?!))
I am facing some problems with publishing of flash file. After publishing at HTMl; it shows white border at all sides of document. My document size is Width :- 1280 Height : 650. It is adding border on all sides border at top and bottom are greater than that of Left and Right. I have tried it many ways, altered my flash setting as well but no use. I am really stumped due to this. To my surprise at SWF file it showing perfect match and fit exactly into window (not showing any borders like HTML) I dont know exactly from where it is getting white borders. My Publish Setting Are as follows Flash :-
I tried all suggestions from the dreamweave forums and none worked.I am placing a CS4 swf movie into dreamweaver CS4 and when I preview in firefox I can't get rid of the 1 pixel white border.Have tried all settings, including setting the wmode parameters to transparentBorder set to 0, frame set to 'top', image set to top.If I change the background of the frame to blue for example, I get a 1 pixel blue line. I believe the problem is in dreamweaver. How do I fix this?
<param name="expressinstall" value="Scripts/expressInstall.swf" /> <param name="BGCOLOR" value="#FFFFFF" /> <param name="SCALE" value="noborder" /> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <!-- Next object tag is
Need to usually use actionscript to do alpha and tint fade? or Just use the properties tween control? Iheard that using actionscript will be better as it will not lag if the user's computer is slow. Here is to get a better idea what i'm trying to achieve using tweening. [URL]. To Alpha fade in, white tint fade in and then fade out white tint to original state. I know how to script the alpha fade in but I have problem with the tint fade.
I have a Canvas object with a number of imported SWF's that the user can move and resize within the Canvas. What kind of object or library would I need to invoke to export just the Canvas to a SWF or preferably another vector based file type such as EPS?
[URL] i want the object to fade out but in the object there's a lot of overlapping pictures and each becomes half transparent. how to make the movieclip to change the alpha as it was without objects?
How do you access every displayed object of a certain kind at once? Here's the code.

I want to replace the underlined part so that it refers to every instance of the dirt symbol without an insane number of iterations. From that, I plan to make the player capable of standing on each dirt symbol as they are being created, as well as move all of the dirt symbols with ease.
I was working on a frame by frame scene when all of a sudden (I don't exactly remember what I did) borders show up around each brush stroke I draw like the figure shown here:
I tried turning off highlights (Ctrl + H), but the borders keep re appearing. Basically, I just want to revert back to the original selection mode as well as get rid of the borders after I draw my brushes like this figure shown below:
How do I turn off highlights / object borders permanently as well as enable regular brush selection?
I'm well aware of the Eleos/Microsoft issues that came before IE 8. However this isn't my problem. My company's website is able to display the swf file fine in FF but in IE, as soon as somebody clicks on the swf file, it does its thing without having to double-click (as in the ActiveX issue previously discussed) but also has what looks like a pink border around it. I'm testing in IE and created the Flash component in Flash CS4 using AS 3.0.Like I said before, the SWF object is activated on the first click, and doesn't have to do with the previously mentioned ActiveX control issue.
I am kind of new to the whole flash sceen and am getting a little bit frustrated with the snapping (I am used to Photoshop Snapping). I have a bunch of objects the exact same size as the stage and I would like to snap them to the stage (I am making a slideshow-rotating image). I always find myself having to zoom in extreamly to make sure the edge of my image is lined up with the edge of the stage... is there a way to snap my images to the stage.
I am embedding swf object into my html document, but its showing border on top and left of swf object, how to remove it? Same result on all browsers. If I increase the dimensions of swf object then border start appearing on all sides. I don't want the border at all.
I have an Image object that gets resized to the containers size when the image loads. The images that it will load are dynamic in size so after resize I end up with a sliver of the image object's white background showing. How can I make the Image object not have a white background and be transparent.Parts of the PNG's have transparent parts but show up as white due to the white background of the object is it loaded into.
I have a frame_mc that get scaled 400 % onPress with a fusekit tween. Now I'll like to anchor a title_mc to the the top edge of the frame_mc without scaling it. How to do that? onEnterframe in the onPress function?
I'm trying to make a little program. It works right now by drawing the top shape to the dark gray area, where it then copies itself and changes color. The new shape can be re-dragged as well. What I want to do now is add a dynamic border when I click on the new object, I want the box to adjust to an appropriate size. And on mouse release I want the selection border to disappear on the new shape. I want the selection border to be dashed much like you find in many of Adobe's programs, if at all possible. Attached is my .fla file
My basic requirement is to draw a circle inside a BorderContainer with the layout set to BasicLayout.I run this method in the CREATION_COMPLETE event of the BorderContainer object.[code]I know I must be missing something VERY basic here. Can I just draw like this OR should I draw in some other event? I know that I can create a Ellipse object and easily add it to the border container but I would like to know how I can do this using the graphics object.
I'd like to be able to click on each of the buttons and have the background color change and also have its color name loaded in the dynamic text field. E.g. Clicking the white square would change the background color to white and should also display the text ''white'' in the dynamic text box. I've sorted out the colour changing part with the following code:
So I have so parts of actionscript which I am figuring out on how to make them one. What I am wanting to do is move an object to the right and fadeout. Here is my code to animate right 10 pixels, this works perfectly.
I recently bought an mp3-player coded in Flash and it works great, except for the fact that I do not want it to appear constantly on the timeline.
The mp3-player is generated throught code, so I was wondering if there is a way to control the alpha of a variable named mp3playerContainer and set it to 0? I have navigation points on frame 25 and 55 where I want this mp3player to not be visible. Could it be an idea to use "currentFrame", so that if currentFrame equals 25 or 55, then alpha of the variable mp3playercontainer will be set to 0?
I am very new to Flash and I have the following script: mouseInterval = setInterval(changeAlpha,10); function changeAlpha(){ fader_mc.alpha = Math.round(root.mouseX/550*100) } This is simply to change the Alpha of my object as I change the X value of the mouse cursor. I keep getting the following error message: 1120: Access of undefined property mouseInterval
I'm creating pages with text supported by wav files for training. on the bottom of the page is a progress bar. I want to make a button that when clicked will permenantly raise the alpha of a movie clip (on a different layer) to 100%. (it is currently set to 0) within the movie clip (hazpop) is a button that will turn the alpha to zero (click to close window) so in theory (not as2) it should be: on mousedown alpha.hazpop=100 I've been combing the forums for days and no-one is talking about alpha.
for a periodic table tool I'm making, I've incorporated an effect that changes the alpha value whenever I hover over an element (pretty standard). I've noticed a mysterious gain in memory when hovering over my elements; using SYSTEM.TOTAL_MEMORY - there would be about 0.005MB increase in memory usage when I hover over an element, which isn't relinquished when I move my mouse off. However, if I move my mouse back on again, there isn't a second memory gain.
[Code]...
Does anyone know why this memory gain is happening when the alpha value is changed? And curiously why it only happens once? Some extra info: my Element class is a MovieClip, with a couple of TextFields, primitive variables and a MovieClip in it. It has had its mouseChildren property set to false (and buttonMode property set to true).
I'm building a custom UI for a program and I'm having trouble with a mouse event on an object that is visible, but is |. Imagine the top object being a frame and the lower object being a photo. I want to detect mouse events on the photo. So what happens currently is that only mouse events on the top object are detected. Thoughts on how to get around this?
I want to achieve the effect on [URL]. The effect on the left on the about page in which when the mouse moves over the alpha of the object goes to 0%. I have all the layers set up with masks and all but need the action script. I tried applying the following code to a mask which I converted to a movieclip.
on(rollover){ this._alpha--; } But this did not work for some reason.
I have an interval problem. Code: //function for fading in objects function fadeIn(theMc:MovieClip, fadeParam:Number) { if (theMc._alpha < 100) { theMc._alpha += fadeParam; trace(theMc._alpha); [Code] ..... I made a small function for fading in objects. Once the object its alpha is larger then 100, it should stop that interval, but it doesn't.
