I have an Adobe AIR application for Android. Using for this AIR 3.0 and Flash Builder 4.6. I need to make MyANEFile.ane - which must include 2 external .jar files: Flurry.jar + Tapjoy.jar. View 1 RepliesI have an integration problem between an HTML and a Flex application. I have a Flex application that exists on a domain, let's say [URL]. The application requires the user to login from a user, password input built in Flex - The user information is stored in a database that the Flex application query through php. Now I want to build an external login from a html form. This form is a part of a site on let's say the domain [URL]. I want to be able to fill in the user information on the 'otherdomain', send him/her to 'onedomain' with POST variables and make the Flex application use the credentials and login the user in the application.
How can I implement this in a secure way? I don't want to e.g. store the username and password plainly in flashvars. I can login the user before the Flex application. So it would be possible to e.g. login the user, get perhaps some token from the server that could be passed to the flex application, and then check that the token is right according to the server from a Flex call.

But I have this one report that can have thousands of lines, with a custom format, Flash will slow down with this.
Is it posible to print it without showing the actual data on screen? or is there a component to print reports with custom format?

View 3 RepliesLooking for some ideas, strategies, tools, etc. on creating reports from Flash Builder / Flex 4. I have a flex application that allows create/read/update/delete of client information from a back-end database. It uses web services (zend amf -> mongo db or mysql). I already have the client data IN flex via the web service as a collection for example. A user requests the ability to generate a report - to display a list of clients under a certain age in a tabular excel style grid (datagrid most likely).
It will be sorted and subtotaled by a demographic such as "insurance type". Ideally the user would like to be able to select the insurance types allowed on the report (or in the datagrid/pivot table). I know one option would be to present the user with a series of check boxes or a multi-select list to choose the insurance types. Then, present them with a data grid or advanced data grid component to display the 'report'. What other techniques, options or components are available / have people used?
Has anyone used BIRT (eclipse.org/birt) with flex or flash builder 4 to display reports to a user? I believe it has the ability to display reports as a web page via php or similar, so I am guessing one way to implement it would be to display the BIRT generated pages in flex inside a web control.how you used BIRT in conjunction with your flash app?
View 1 RepliesI have a code library that I have built. It relies on 2 other (third party) libraries. At the moment, when I compile the library into a swc, both third party libraries are included. I am looking for a way to compile my code library against the third party libraries, but without including them in the compiled swc.
This would obviously mean that anyone using my library would need both libraries as well, but I would prefer it this way. I am not using Flex/Flashbuilder which I know allows you to choose the classes to include in a swc.

I assumed it would be in C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Flash CS4enConfigurationComponents
But it is not. Should I have such a folder? And, if so, where should it be?
Or do I need to create it myself?
I've been looking to submit some bug reports regarding CS5.5 Pro and there just isn't an option in the "Report a Bug/Feature Request" form. WHY not?? I paid for CS5.5 and autoformat breaks my code, but there's no way to report it.

In the simple example of Skype, the OS returns control to the Flex app when Skype exits. But what about native applications which have their own event model and wants to communicate with the Flex event model. For example, a Face detection system which shows "Hello" on a Flex app when the camera detects a face. Can this be done in the current Flex framework?

how can i delete storage directory instances or folder while uninstalling any air application. In my application when i first time run my application, application copy some data from application directory to application storage directory. now i want to delete all data and application directory folder also while uninstalling application.
I am doing that because when i launch any update then application is accessing old data which conflict with my application new features.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to load a swf(as3) into another As3 Swf with the Movieclip loader. After loading however Loader.width/loader.content.width returns an exaggerated value than the actual width of the swf being loaded. Any pointers on where to begin looking for the discrepancy?

The swf being loaded has UI components like dropdowns, input boxes and combo boxes (its a Form to fill up), and a coded one-time tween. When the child MC loads into the parent movieclip, the Loader.width value returned is exaggerated by about 28 pixels (although the height remains the same). Loader.content.width also returns a 28 pixel exaggerated value. The Exaggerated value is more than even the stage width of the child MC. The extra ~30 px are upsetting subsequent code in the parent movie to scale and center the loaded swf.

stage.stageWidth returns the correct Value.Code used in the parent MC, to load external SWF:

View 1 RepliesI have a native (Obj-C, standard Xcode project) application and I'd like to integrate a partners iOS application (or specifically, it's functionality) into it as just another view in my application. The problem is that their application is a Flex/Air app. I really don't understand the Adobe compilation process on how it gets from a bunch of flex code down to an IPA. I don't see intermediate projects, shared objects, etc on the disk to produce that IPA. It looks like it doesn't rely on the Apple tool chain... as I understand it, you can produce the IPA on Windows as well. Is there any way to build that Flex app in such a way that I can import it into Xcode so I can link against it and use it as a library from within my application? While I specifically used iOS as an example since that is the most important platform, we'll want to apply this solution to our respective Android and Blackberry 6 apps as well.
View 1 RepliesI have a banner in actionscript 2, that posts to a URL, and gets a response back. The http header from that is then used to figure out if the posting was successful. This works like a charm i IE, but in Firefox and Safari, the Flash player shomehow interprets the HTTP header as a 0, no matter what the browser actually gets. My guess is that it's what's described here [URL]...
View 1 RepliesI have an AIR application with a system tray icon. When clicked it shows and activates the app. This is working as expected when the app is hidden (docked), however if I select another application so my app is in the background clicking on the system tray icon does nothing.
Oddly I also have a contextual menu on the system tray icon, which has an option to restore, this calls the same event handler as ScreenMouseEvent.CLICK, yet works.
I expect it's something to do with the contextual menu changing the focus, perhaps it's a bug in how AIR works with the system tray, perhaps it's just something I'm missing. Would be good to know if that's the case.
