When you change from txtOne to txtTwo, the Alert is showed and after pressing OK, the focus will return to txtOne. I don't want that to happen. How to solve this?
I have done an ovveride of the standard TextInput component In this component I have :
addEventListener( FocusEvent.FOCUS_OUT, handleFocusOut ); My method is trigerred when the field loose focus for another field (nice)Problem : It is trigerred alose when the whole flex application lose focus (when my field has the current focus inside my form)
I have a ViewStack, with a bunch of NavigatorContainers in. Each NavigatorContainer contains a different category of settings for the application.
I would like to be able to display a popup prompting the user if they try to leave the current NavigatorContainer without saving the changes they have made to the container's settings.
What would be ideal is something like the 'changing' event in the List component, whereby you are able to cancel or defer the event. Calling preventDefault() on the change event in ViewStack doesn't prevent the index change from happening.
I have a rectangle-shape instance in a MC, this instance functions as button with Mouse Event. ROLL_OVER / MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT.In this MC every time on roll_over it generates (addChild) a random number of small circles which appear spread around on top of the rectangle shape. After a certain duration they're removed by scripting. The problem is that while they're there, exactly THOSE areas of those small circles lose the Roll-Over triggering, only those areas not covered of the rectangle still works as roll-over.I guess it has something to do with FOCUS or something but haven't been able to figure out yet how to remove focus / circumvent those small circles from preventing roll-over.
I've got a problem with rotated buttons in Flex. They seem to contaminate other components' focus rectangles. Take the following source code, which couldn't be much simpler:
[Code]....
Now execute it. Click in the text area, the focus rectangle is correct. Press tab twice, the focus rectangle aroung the TextArea is rotated! Is there a fix for this, or should I avoid rotating buttons altogether? I'm using Flex SDK 3.5.
I am having an issue where I show an AlertBox message when the user hits ENTER and the focus is in a text area. The pop up works fine, but when the user hits enter the Alert closes as expected, but the TextArea listener receives the ENTER event from the Alert and pops the dialog up again. I have tried a number of ways to catch and eat the event but so far I have not been lucky. Is there way to accomplish this?
public function init():void { myTextInput.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_UP, handleKeyStrokes);[code]....
I have a textfield in flex with a focusOut event on it. I can type in the box and in Firefox and Chrome when I click elsewhere on the page (outside the flash element) the focusOut event will be triggered. However in IE8, the texfield never loses focus when you click elsewhere on the page, outside the flash object. I've tried with focusManager.browserMode set to true and false with no difference (I believe that effects incoming focus anyway).
I am writing a flex application and I have two Spark TextAreas. I want to create an EventListener so that when the user clicks on a text area, the text inside the TextArea is cleared:
this.addEventListener(FocusEvent.FOCUS_IN, onFocusIn); private function onFocusIn(ev:FocusEvent):void { if (this._showsCaption) {
[Code]....
Currently I can implement this with a Spark TextInput, but when I click on the TextArea, the focusIn event never fires and the onFocusIn() handler is never called.
I created an event handler to override the tab and tab + shift functionality, as tabIndex was not working as I expected it to. (I have some dynamic check boxes and it was taking two tabs to get into the VBox group and a couple of other anomalies).
I added some alert boxes so I could see what the current target is, now I have the functionality working perfectly...but when I remove the alert boxes the tab and shift/tabs do not work.
I tried to replace the alerts with trace's to no avail. I also tried to enclose the code around a switch statement and add breaks.
I'm having a game in which i control an MC with the keyboard arrows and when i click outside of the flash application and back in the MC loses focus. The focus changes to a button within the stage. What i've observed is that the Flash Player has a built-in control that moves focus from an item to the other with the arrow keys.
I'm developing some photo viewer app for some web site in flex 3. One of the demands made by my customers is preventing of their unique visual content from copying at least by standard Windows tools ("Print Screen" button). Are there any tricky techniques capable of doing this?
The first thing occurred to me is handling "Print Screen" button of keyboard doesn't seem to be as effective as my client needs.
I am working on a product options form whose contents should be cleared by a clearOptions() method each time the user adds an option. The option name TextInput is bound to a value object that is reinstantiated each time the the user adds a product option. The problem I am having is that the StringValidator fires each time the bound value object is reinstantiated.
What I'm trying to achieve is to support Landscape mode in both orientations, so if user turns the device 180 degress, the screen should also rotate. But there should be no action at all, when user rotates the device to one of portrait orientations. Instead, I'm seeing width changes to navigator action bar and sometimes content in portrait orientations, so apparently preventing the event is not enough. I'm using the "official" way Adobe suggests, but the problem is that it's not working very well. Granted, the stage does not change, but it seems that there's something firing in navigator anyway, since you can see the action bar width changing.
I had some success with explicitly setting layoutbounds to fixed width in handler method - this prevents changing the actionbar width, but it's only a temporary solution - if the view is a subject to a transition, or some other redraw - it will again render with bad sizes. As if there was something below that was telling it that it's in portrait mode, even though I'm trying to prevent it.
Before you detonate with some silly ideas like "autoOrient = false", don't. It's clearly not a solution for this problem. Obviously it's a bug with Flex SDK - did anyone find a way to fix it or a stable workaround?
I searched the forum first to find similarities but I couldn't find one. Sorry if this is a double however. If you try to compare a widget's instance through "event.target" after it has raised a "focusOut" event, then you won't get the actual instance.
I'm working on a Flex 3 app, implemented in Actionscript 3 and MXML, that includes an embedded video player, which is essentially a black box--I load it as a SWF from another site on demand, and I don't have access to its source code. It does, however, inherit from Sprite. The problem is that, when focus is on the Flash app, the video player is somehow receiving and processing keyboard events, even when the player itself isn't in focus. So when users are typing text elsewhere in the GUI, if they hit the space bar, the video pauses.
I've tried intercepting key events in the Sprite's parent, and setting tabEnabled = false, tabChildren = false, and buttonMode = false on the Sprite, but nothing seems to work. It's as if the Sprite is getting keystrokes through an alternate Event path.how I can prevent the player from receiving keyboard events or input events entirely? It's fine with me if no input events reach the player, since I've implemented my own, separate video controls.
In my Flex 4 app I would like all my alert boxes to be a specific width and height, how do I specify that in the CSS? I want to avoid having to specify the width and height every time I want to show an alert, that's why I'd like to set it in the CSS, but does not look like there's a way to.. Something like this does not work:
I need to customize my alert box with two button and both the button need to have different skins on them. I was able to do it for one skin. But i am unable to figure out about the two skins. My code that i have right now is below:
I have 2 comboboxes which are dependent (country and state) and one submit button. Now what i want is after user submits the form it should display one alert box which should be like
selected country is "selected item" selected state is"selected item"
How do I skin alert box in flex 4? I am not interested in customizing alert box via css, how do I create skin? For example, for TextInput I would write in css:
[Code]...
And get TextInput globally changed. How do I make something similar for Alert? I can't understand what is host component for alert.
I have a website with a flex application. The flex application has no user input - except for clicks for navigation. The website also uses no scripting language - i.e. no php, asp, jsp or cfm.
The website just consists of one page which contains the flash file for the flex application. The source code of this page is here: [URL]
I have been advised (by a software program used by my client) that this website is vulnerable to a reflective type XSS attack and have been advised to 'sanitize' all user input.
respect to XSS and would respectfully like to ask that AFAIK there is no user input. What should I sanitize and how?
I am using Flex3.0. in this i am craeting a custom component for an Alert.and for that alert i am applying styles. but when i opening the alert through the application i want to set focus on Alert button.means when i press enter button there are two buttons in alert YES and NO.i need to focus on YES button.
I have a project in which i need to pop up an alert to the user before a combobox value is changed. This feature is to allow the user to stay in current state if modifications were not saved. Meaning that the user will be able to cancel the change. I have sub classed ComboBox and tried to hook on ITEM_CLICK of ComboBox.dropdown but this event is triggered after the value is changed. Also, I've tried MOUSE_CLICK ans MOUSE_DOWN but without success.
In my code, I have added a "preChange" event to my CustomComboBox. This event should be triggered before a change is made. Also, I've introduced a method called commitChange that will be called manually to actually commit the change.
Is it possible to send parameters to a closeHandler Alert function? The fisrt parameter the function gets is the CloseEvent, but how to send another one?
