Flex :: Edit PDF Files Dynamically From Flash?

I am planning to do a CD-ROM in either Flash or Flex, possibly using the Adobe AIR runtime.This CD interactive will have a bunch of forms on it for the user to fill out. After they fill in a form, they will have the option of saving or printing a PDF that is based on there information.I am trying to find a way of editing the content of the PDF in Flash, so when the user fills out the form, the application will fill in the PDF with there details from the form fields. Is this is possible?It would be great if there was some way of having template PDFs (either on the CD as there own files, or in a Flash library), then flash could come along and fill in the specific fields inside the PDF.

I am new to flash and I am trying to create my first flash site using a template that I have downloaded. I can edit the first page fine, but when I click the "about us" or any other section, the standard template text, Which isn't even in english, appears. I believe that these are psd files, and I have tried to edit them, saved and replaced file on my computer, but still I get the same unchanged text on this site when I preview.how to edit and replace these files within the flash movie?

I need to make it so that my client can edit some text files that are displayed in a frilly little font with shades and all that "mainflashpage.swf" accesses to display it. I heard you can do a lot of things like this with php. I know NOTHING about php. So is there any way that I can use flash to edit a text file? I remember about using void at the end of declaring a function if your not returning data.

I've recently taken over the website for the company I work for (has been freelanced outside of the office). The previous webdesigner created a flash menu for the top of the pages, as well as a flash element on one other page. I have no Flash knowledge. On the other page with the flash element here: [URL], in the page content on the right there's the bulleted, numbered links. See how the numbers aren't centered on the button? I'm able to open the fla file & can find the elements & where I need to edit, but no matter what I do I can't get the numbers to center on the button.
I've opened each & selected both the number (which is a text element) & the button & have centered horizontally, made the same width & height, etc., etc. but they're still not centering. Now for the menu bar at the top of the page (can look at same page for reference), I can't figure out how to change the text on some of the buttons. For instance I want to change Home Serves to read Custom Homes. I find the symbols & they appear to be images, so is it safe to assume the previous designer created buttons with the text already on them? Also how do I removed some of the drop down items in the menu bar, specifically under Our Galleries?

If you make multiple flash files from the same template and then edit that template, will all those files have those same changes? If not, is there a way to make the same change on multiple files at once? Basically the same idea as linking HTML files to a single CSS file...

i bought a template and have edited too my satisfaction,however i am unable to add more pics to the gallery,i can add frames and pics in the pics/thumbs timeline, but they do not showi can change the 12 pics in the original timeline without difficulty, but cannot find anyway to add more pics or thumbs.i have been trying to sort this for a week with no joy, i would really appreciate any help that i can get on this, any at all.i did post the .FLV file on the adobe server Case #0181222772

I'm currently about to hand off a simple XML site to my client for them to begin updating.To add images on the site, they'll need to update simple lines in an XML document.I'm on a Mac and I just use Text Edit to update XML files. Is there some easy text editing program on a PC that I can recommend they use?

A wav or mp3 file will be taped or various. Is there any script to edit these files in batch ie: to Trim the beginnings ie: no sound parts. Or would I have to use a sound editor. As I say I don't want to do it manually. This sounds like a stupid use but it's important as I have children taping themselves and can't use a 3 party product to edit. Perhaps AIR has something in an API.

While in Design mode in Flash Builder 4 (gumbo, beta 2), is it possible to edit multiple states at once? In the "states" window, it would seem like I should be able to shift-select multiple states so changes made will affect all the selected states, and if all are selected it will not add the state selector to the property in the mxml tag. No?

I'm not quite sure how to describe the problem I'm having but I'll do my best. I have an image gallery built in AS3 that loads content via an XML file. Nothing mind blowing here... When testing locally on a static XML file, the gallery works as intended. The purpose of this gallery is to function within a CMS and load dynamically generated XML files to display the appropriate images/info for each particular gallery. is there a way to have flash read swf from a directory dynamicaly. so if you add a new one it reads it and you could have a next and previouse button to dynamicly browse throught them.
this way you could just upload new swf and it would automaticaly add it to the set so when you hit next at the end it would read the new one.

how to load files to a Flash site Dynamically from a remote server. The first part was showing how to load a .txt file.
I have created a dynamic test field and give it an instance name of myTextArea. Then I uploaded the .txt file to my server in a testing folder. At the beginning of the paragraph in the .txt file I put homeText= Then going back to Flash CS3 I made an Action Script layer and entered the following code there;

But when I go to test the movie I get a "undefined" error (I guess it is an error) where the text should load in the dynamic text field.

I am creating a Flex 4 project and would like to do an actionscript based login with encryption, but I obviously don't want it to be easily decompiled.If I dynamically link to a swf file that is in a "non-browse" directory, would a decompiler of the base application actionscript file also give the code of the linked file? For example

I'm actually relatively new to flash and actionscript but I could say I have fair knowledge about them. So anyway, I usually build flash websites the traditional way using timeline animation and scripting. Today I had a job interview and they said they're looking for someone who can develop any web design into a Flash CMS with a back-end office for the client to edit the content without having to edit the FLA file or any code.
Accordingly, I'd like to know where and how to start. What are the main concepts I should follow/adapt?

What Im trying to do is to activate the edition of the selected row when the user clicks a button. So far I've been unable to find any example of how to do this. I already tried 6 or 7 different approaches but non works.
How do you get the selected row (NOT selectedItem) of a DataGrid and how can you:
Change the ItemRenderEditor or ItemRenderer on the fly of just that row.
Or enable the edition of that specific row without clicking it.

I use a spark List with a custom item renderer and an ArrayCollection for dataProvider.
The ItemRenderer looks something like
<mx:TextInput id="txtValue1" text="{data.myFirstValue}"/>
<mx:TextInput id="txtValue2" text="{data.mySecondValue}"/>
However, even though I change the text in txtValue1 or txtValue2, those are not actually changed in the object inside the ArrayCollection.
myFirstValue and mySecondValue are decorated with the [Bindable] tag.
My understanding is that if the text property is set to be bound a certain property, the changes should be automatically applied.
So the HACK (or so I think) that I use is to listen to the focusOut event of each textbox, and access the parent data provider and set the the values manually.

I have a DataGrid of objects, and I want to modally edit them; pop up a dialog, change the item, and if the user clicks "Ok", save the changes back to the original item, and if they click "Cancel", do nothing. It seems obvious that if I simply pass in a reference to the original object and change it using data bindings to the fields in the edit form, I won't be able to cancel my edits. How can I support that capability?
