Worked pretty well. Unfortunately, the developer who is building out the site just informed us that we need one that works in a .net environment and this component parses the XML through PHP. I'm a noob at all this so I don't even know exactly what I'm talking about!

activity.xml is where you put the dates in. open up the file and you'll see how i did it. i marked the dates i wanted highlighted and then put in the url where you get taken when you click on that date.

Aug 23, 2004i've developed a Version 2 Events Calendar component that will accept multiple, non-continuous days (which the DateChooser component does not do). i'm indebted to you all: prophet, cycom, bodyvisual, thoriphes, claudio, scriptflipper, hga77, senocular, e.s.x.s., and mcgiver. i've learned so much from all of you. now to the component. please don't yell at me for not packaging this as an .mxp. i tried and well, failed... open up the attached zip file: EventsCalendar.swc and XMLMember.as go here: Program Files --> Macromedia --> Flash MX2004 --> en --> Configuration --> Components.

Embedding Carousel Component Into Flash Webpage?
Nov 11, 2009I have an average carousel flash component I downloaded... It would be easy to embed into an html webpage but I need it in a flash webpage that I am building...I figured I could put the whole thing into a movie clip and stop on that frame and the carousel animation would work fine but all it does is loop my animation... Even with the "stop();" at the end... My skills are pretty basic in Actionscript...

In the second chapter it teaches you how to integrate the login for to another app.Basically I'm looking for a book that teaches you real working application rather than abstract ideas. Programming language I have in mind is Adobe Air/Flex, Visual Basic. Functions I have in mind should at least cover Drag and Drops, Integration to a web form (form entry) and customizable interfaces.The languages i had in mind isn't fix. If you know a programming platform that has little code or easy to learn but still be able to develop a cool application.

Mar 29, 2012i want to create a chat app using flex 4.5 mobile project for android device. For the chat screen, i wanted it to look glossy and stylish. Hence i thought i would use the list component and disable the selection in it. I m able to add the chat messages into the list. But i doubt if large chat data might hinder the performance. Im using a collection and i ve binded it with the list. Whenever i receive a chat i update the collection and it gets displayed in the list. Can someone tell me if his could pose a performance problem as list component is not intended for this purpose.

Jun 23, 2011I have a component "child" which has a cancel button. Now this component is placed in a state called "newChildComp" I also have another component called "parent". In the parent component, i have a button that dispatches an event. Here is the event code:

so, basically,i am checking to see if the cancel button component in the Child component, while i am still in the parent Compoent, was clicked, if it was clicked, call the cancelButtonHandler. The problem is by the time the addNewChild handles the event, that cancel button was still null. My question is how do i solve this without using the itemCreationPolicy on the cancel button?

Dec 26, 2009I'm a PHP programmer who's learning more about adobe products including flex, and would like to train myself to recognize when flash/flex is the right technology to use for a client/project (and of course when it's not the right technology to use).I guess the best way to get it is by experience, so if you know of any examples (full site or even small part of a site) that you think the developer was right or wrong in choosing the flash technology for that project/part, please add it here with an explanation why. Same for other projects that were not implemented in flash but should have been. If you think the developer made the wrong decision, say why and what you would have used instead. The idea is to provide real examples to help people like me who are getting into flash/flex, but want to understand the right way to fit it into their work if at all.

Apr 28, 2011I'm creating a video chat application, and no matter what combination of amera/Microphone/NetStream properties and functions I use, I cannot get high quality video/audio. I get occasional audio latency, pixelated video, occasional frozen video and the degree of each depends on the combination of properties/functions I set/call.Others such as TokBox, TinyChat, Chat Roulette, etc. have achieved great video/audio quality with FMS, what is the secret? At least point me in the right direction, because right now I'm not impressed with FMS ability to provide a good video/audio experience.
