If I copy all the files from the debug folder and paste it somewhere it stops working gives me a sandbox error. ( I am not using any absolute paths) and everything seems to be fine in debug folder.
It's a actionscript project in flex builder.
I have a problem with Flash builder 4.5. I added a new folder containing images, and when I run the project, no images folder creates in bin-debug ?!
My folder is on src.
Recently, when I tried to show the results of my work (some Flex app) to my boss, i was quite suprised that application which run perfectly well on my pc, on my boss' pc wasn't displayed properly (the only thing visible was a default grey background). After 3h of trying absolutely everything, finally the app showed up when I changed his Flash Player version from standard one to debug (both was v. 10.0.22.87). Does anyone know what can be the reason of this (any compiler flag or sth). Forcing my boss to installing debug FP was quite ok, but forcing final user of the app to do so is unacceptable.
PS: By showing I mean deploying to Tomcat on my pc and giving my boss a link to the app. We both use Win XP. Also when I installed debug FP for Netscape browsers and standard FP for IE (on my pc) the result is the same - working in Firefox, Opera, Chrome and grey background in IE. I've compiled both as a Debug and as a Release. I'm using Flash Develop 3.0.2 RTM After stripping my app to sth like this - it still works only in debug FP

i am trying to create a flash movie for my browser page. i am able to import and export the movie just fine, the problem comes after i export the movie. As long as i leave the flash file in the folder it was created in things work great. If i try to move the folder or rename the folder it stops working. It acts like it cant find the flv file i created the flash with. if i rename or move the folder back where it was created things work fine.

, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
"E:DataProcessors.swf"
not found but i have those lib files on
"E:in-debugDataProcessors.swf"..

Is there an option that I could have accidentally turned off or on?

I am using CS4 and adding scipt to the Actions Frame for a 3rd party component using AS3.The swf is being used by an ASP.NET page.I'm trying to get Remote Debugging running - I had it running yesterday, but something changed and I don't know what. So, now none of the breakpoints are being recognized.
-I create the swf file with debugging enabled.
-I start the CS4 Remote Debugging.
-I start my ASP.NET app in Debug Mode from VS2008.
-I get the Adobe dialog allowing me to connect to the debugger. (Before the problems occurred, CS4 debug recognized the flash player automatically.)
-The CS4 debugger recognizes that the player is running since the output frame updates with "[SWF] /Flashloaded/Flashloaded.swf -56913 bytes after decompression"
- But, NONE OF THE BREAKPOINTS ARE BEING RECOGNIZE!!! And no Variables show up in the Variables Frame.
- YES - I am using a debug version of the flash player. I have tried both version 9 & 10.
- Nothing is being entered in my flashlog.txt file.
I have both CS3 and CS4 web preium installed on my system. Ihave started working in CS4 and found that the debug window willnot work. I created a new Flash CS4 fla and added some breakpoints.It seems to run without stopping at the breakpoints and displayingmy trace statements. I have a ticket into support but no one hasanswered it yet. I remember this happening when I installed CS3 webpre but can't remember what I did to fix it. Is a uninstall of allthe products neccessary? Or should I just uninstall Flash.

View 2 RepliesWhen I first downloaded Flash CS3 Professional, I was able to enter an exceedingly useful debug mode by compiling using ctrl+shift+enter instead of ctrl+enter. I could toggle break points, step in, step over and view values stored in variables at a whim.
I must have accidentally toggled some option somewhere, because this interface no longer shows up. Instead, the only extra interface I get is the output menu with the following text "Attemping to launch and connect to Player using URL <file path> [SWF] <file path> - 71984 bytes after decompression" and while the swf does halt if the as3 code reaches a break point, it doesn't tell me which break point nor give me any options to progress the flow (not even through the pull down menu I have to utilize in order to end the so called debug session).
Can I do this in AS3?

I have a swf that I need to attach the flex builder debugger to. I have full access to the source code, and can make a debug build of this swf.
However, this swf is being loaded by a non-debug build of another swf which I don't have source code to, and can't make a debug build with.
I've tried mocking this up with two very simple swfs, and while it works fine when both are debug builds, when the outer swf is a non-debug build, while I can get the debugger to connect, I don't get trace messages, breakpoints don't work, and it seems to lock up the flash app.
I have flash installed on my mac 10.6.7 and it's version is 11.1.102.55 (Non-debug).How do i convert it into debug.

So i started to make folders inside of my main folder but it's not working. Thought it may be to do with package names but as far as i know, for the whole "classes in separate folders" things that's how they are supposed to be.

I have a Flex 4 application which connects to ASP.NET webservice based on FluorineFx. It is authenticated by cookies via RemoteObject.setCreadentials()
Both applications connect to FMS server and talks to each other via RTMFP direct connection (P2P).
I want to debug both instances of this application in Firefox and Internet Explorer at one time by single click (F11).
Now I can debug only in one browser by running Debug in Flash Builder 4. I have created double browser runner with bat file registered as default browser in Preferences > General > Web browser that looks like this:

But this connects the debugger only to firstly run instance of the application in Internet Explorer.

I've been working in Flash BUilder 4.0. I installed Flash Builder 4.5, and switched to the workspace I had used for 4.0. Then we were told to go back to 4.0, and now I can't run or debug. I can build, but then I have to double click on the .html file to run. Right clicking doesn't bring up run or debug, and the run and debug icons are not in my toolbar.
View 3 RepliesI have an AIR application which uses RemoteObject to comunicate with remote services in PHP (using Zend AMF). The application works great, but I can't debug the PHP side (the Flex debugger works fine, the PHP side is the problem). I'm using Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP, when I write a Web Application (not AIR), I can choose to debug the application as "Web (PHP) Application", and the breakpoints in the PHP side are working as expected. But I can't see any similar option for Desktop Applications (AIR). Does somebody know if it's possible (and how) to debug the PHP side in an AIR application?
View 2 RepliesI've migrated to FDT from flashdevelop and kind of have a hard time getting things to work the way I'm used to. In Flashdevelop, you could easily choose if the compiled swf was a release or debug version. In FDT however, it seems like there is no way to compile a version that has debugging information without it automatically opening up the debug perspective with a ton of debug windows, a profiler and actually entering debug mode.
As an extra plus, I keep getting a message saying "This feature is only available in FDT Max", although from what I know the debugger is included in the free version. Is there a way to do what I'm trying to do or should I just get used to this new way of working?
The company I am working for has a flash component (using flex and cs4) that crashes intermittently in chrome, FF and IE. (so far only win32 platforms)
I submitted a bug report to Adobe but have not heard anything back from them. Their support process seems like a black hole. WE can get a dump from Flash using these steps but after submitting the bug we got no help at all.
We loaded this into MS visual studio but can;t get decent stack information because there are no symbols for the flash stuff.
Microsoft and other companies provide symbols to help with debugging and we would like to get that from adobe. Is there any way to make progress on this?
Does anyone know where to get flash symbols or how else we can make progress?
It is hard to debug the process if the container just dies.

I just spent a painful hour on the phone with adobe folks - and the final answer from one of them (I spoke to about 8 people) was that they do not have a per incident purchase plan for developer support for flash.
Is it possible to run the ADL without a GUI so that I can run FlexUnit tests during a nightly build? Right now, when I execute our test runner on our server (Ubuntu 9.04) it fails with the output: "Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:".

After waiting a long time, the status changes to "OK" and the clock cursor disappears. How can I find out why a webservice takes sometimes minutes while it usually takes not even a second?
My webservices run on my localhost during development using the Zend AMF Server.
