Jul 11, 2011I'm trying to Resize a panel using a Resize Effect using its center as the anchor point. I've been googling for some information and the only thing I have found is to set the horizontalCenter and verticalCenter to 0, but this is not working for me. The panel keeps resizing from top/left corner.

Mar 24, 2011I discovered this while doing some programmatic panel resizing:Components in a spark Panel will still be visible when their location is outside the physical Panel boundaries. This does not happen with the mx Panel.unning Flex 4.1 on Windows 7I tried putting mx and spark controls in the spark Panel, and they both appear outside of the boundaries. Note this doesn't happen with the mx Panel. What am I missing to make the spark behave like the mxSample Code:

when inspection the number of children each element has in eclipse, the control bar numChildren property goes up, but the panel doesn't so its as if its not getting added.

This panel will be used by enterprise customers to manage their products.
Do you think that the flash actually has a future? think it is reliable to use flash in such an application?

May 11, 2010I have a video player that has a clip on it, called sliderTarget. on ROLL_OVER, a thumbnailsSlider comes down from the top, showing thumbnails of other available videos to play...
Problem is, I'm having trouble with the layers, so that when I roll over the thumbnailsSlider, it doesn't register, since I'm really still on the sliderTarget. If I swap depths, then the thumbnailsSlider slides away since I've officially rolled out.[code]...

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loaded External Sound Control Panel
Oct 12, 2004I've got a main flash index file (fla_main.swf) which acts as a header/menu that concurrent pulls in external movies (ie, content pages) when sections are selected. There's no problem with that at all, but I do have a soundtrack control panel that is an external mov loaded in (soundctrl01.swf). There's 3 music tracks and options to stop, start, next track etc. All the usual stuff, vars loaded by "loop01.new Sound();" etc and played/stopped with the var instances. Anyway, the mov starts with loop01 playing and then allows the option to skip etc, working fine on publishing but when the fla_main loads it in theres no sound on any loops. Is this an issue with loading sound vars and external movies?

Flex :: Extending Mxml Component With From Another Mxml Component With Visual Child Supported?
May 18, 2011I've been trying to create a custom mxml component that extends another custom mxml component (i.e.MyMXMLComponent -> BaseMXMLComponent -> Group). I've been reading that trying to add visual children to MyMXMLComponent caused error with Flex 3 but that's no longer the case with Flex 4.
What I want to know is whether this is a supported/fixed/documented feature of Flex 4? or just some undefined behavior in Flex 4 that may get changed with future updates?
if this is supported and documented feature, does anyone have link pointing to adobe document stating it as such?

You can see to the left that I will have my main application and then other mxml files (In the Examples Package) as the examples that will be loaded into the main application mxml. How can I dynamically pull the value from the object in the list to load the child mxml file into the container that I have further down in the application?
