so mouseOver and RollOver, and their respective outs work great as long as your mouse is actually over the item, or one of it's children. My problem is that I may have another UI component "between" my mouse and the item I want to process the mouse/rollover(maybe a button that is on top of a canvas, but is not a child of the canvas). The mouse is still over the component, there's just something else that it's over at the same time.
Here is a simplified code example detailing my question copy/paste that into your flex/flash builder and you'll see what I mean:Edit, I just made this more complicated and true to my actual problem, drag slowly, if you move your mouse further than the button in a single frame it kinda breaks, but that is just in this simplified version
I have a basic mouseover in my flex application which changes an image onmouseover and changes it back onmouseout using the code mouse Over "functionToChangeImageSource()" and another one to mouseout.It works fine when you slowly mouse over and out, however if I quickly move the mouse over it, it occasionally stays on the mouseover image and the mouseout function doesnt appear to kick in. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or does anyone have any ideas why its happening?Also, I've tried the rollOver and rollOut instead but it has the same problem.[code]I'd imagine you're correct about the mouseover event not completing before mouseout is but how to I fix this?
I have a simple movie clip for which i bind two events 1-MouseOver and MouseOut
in these events i am just tracing simple text
But the Problem is when i take my mouse over the movie clip both events called tracing the string in the output panel
Infact, things should be done like that on mouse over, its text is printed and when i take my mouse away[out] from the movieClip MouseOut event should be called.
All I want to do is modify the text value of the XML corresponding to the CURRENTLY SELECTED node in the tree. Everything is a piece of cake except actually changing 'abc' to 'xyz'.
I am trying to customise the truncateToFit option in my Custom Tree. In order to do that i have to render a LABEL into my tree as the tree is not having the TruncateToFit property. I am begineer to flex, and i surfed a lot to see how they have rendered label inside a tree but i dint find any solution.Is my prediction right ? If it is right then how to render a label inside a tree component ?
How do you make the childAllowsParent property of an SwfLoader go from false to true, that is, how as a parent application do you set up security to make the child app's events and other properties accessible to you. To read the flex docs on this, one would think nothing could be simpler:
"This property [childAllowsParent] is set to true if the child object has called the allowDomain() method to grant permission to the parent domain or if a URL policy is loaded at the child domain that grants permission to the parent domain. If child and parent are in the same domain, this property is set to true . [emphasis added]" So, I'm in a development environment and want to load an swf from my own system via an SWFLoader and then be able to monitor its events within the parent app.
isHello42 is true but the LinkButtons doesn't look like it's selected.Do I have to change the complete skin to achieve that the LinkButton look like it's selected?Here it look like setting selected=true should work:[URL]
I am receiving xml from a webservice call that contains a nil="true":[code]I used the Flex DataService (webservice) wizard to create the service objects for the cacheEntry component. This object will be serialized later on a different webservice call and stored in a database.I set a breakpoint on the set SystemFK method in the service object. It appears that the value passed in was an empty string!Allowing this value to be an empty string will cause problems in the webservice implementation in Java on the other side. Since the database value was null it is expecting a null in return, If I avoid setting this value, the serviceObject should send back a null which will make the database happy.How can I detect that a nil = true is present in the XML in order to avoid setting this value?
In flex, I am able to add mouseOver ( in mx:TextInput ) event as follow: mouseOver="canvas1_mouseDownHandler(event)"It is not the property of TextInput so how can I do it programatically in ActionScript?
Ref: spark.components.ButtonBar. In the spark ButtonBar's mouseOver event, how do you determine which of the several buttons the mouse is hovering over? There is, of course, no selected index at this juncture. If it makes a difference, my ButtonBar is not defined in MXML but is instantiated in ActionScript and an ArrayList is assigned to the dataProvider property of my ButtonBar instance.
I need to develop some mouse over functionality in text field.I could get the text on click functionality by having htmlText & TextEvent.Similarly, can i get the mouseover functionality in text field ?
It does not seem to work however as the text does not underline when I mouse over it.
Is there a way to do this purely through CSS or do I need to programmatically capture the mouse events and set the styles accordingly (seems like overkill)?
i have 2 containers one above the other,i need to show the second one whenthere is a mouse over the first one hide it when it goes out of the first onealso i want the second container content to be usable (mouse clicks/moves)
1) if I create items in a for loop, is correct to add a new eventListener for each item ? Or should I add only 1 eventListener to the parent ? and call the event through ID ? 2) if I want to scale my item, (a LinkButton with icon image), I noticed that the icon is sometimes resized with delay, so I have a bit of flickering when I trigger the event. Should I not use icons, and set the image in another way ? How can I fix this?
I have an application where I'm trying to update the String for a Label's text property, based on the tab which user has the mouse over. I've constructed a simple example displaying how I would process the eventHandler function if I was going to use the selectedIndex property, however it's the tab that has mouse focus, which may or may not be the selectedItem, that I'd like to reference and I haven't been able to figure out a way to do it.
So here is the example: <s:Label id="descriptionLabel" /> <s:TabBar id="audioTB" dataProvider="{audioVS}" mouseOver="audioTB_mouseOverHandler(event)" rollOut="audioTB_rollOutHandler(event)" /> [Code] .....
I am building a graphic component in MXML that has different states, each state having its own size. I have a "normal" state and a "highlighted state", the highlighted one having a higher height. On this components I implemented a function to be executed on each mouseOver and mouseOut to change from normal state to highlighted state and back. My problem is, in the highlighted mode, the mouseout event is triggered according to the size of the normal state.
In an AdvancedDataGrid using an MXAdvancedDataGridItemRenderer, mouseover was not being passed on to the AdvancedDataGrid. After days of struggle, I wanted to share this: In your data setter, assign super.data with the new value for mouse events to be bubbled (?!)
I'm trying to get a spark tab bar to have a selected tab that does not change color on mouseover. I'm trying to implement this by working with a skin based on the skin spark.skins.spark.TabBarButtonSkin, but despite turning off the shadows on the selected and overAndSelected states, it still shows a dark color on mouseover.
I am using a custom skin on Flex's TabBar, and specifically the skin the controls ButtonBarButton. The width of the button is a variable size depending on the text it contains, and background of the button is an image that only displays on the selected states of the button.
The following is my MXML for the skin:
<!-- states --> <s:states> <s:State name="up" />
[Code]....
I tried wrapping the entire block in a Group tag, but to no avail. The invisible Rect does indeed fix the "machine gun" flickering that occurred when the mouse hovered over any edge of the button, but there is still a flicker on every mouse enter and mouse leave of each button.
I am pulling the words "true" and "false" from a query, but in flash I need them to be the values of true and false, not strings, is there a way to convert this datatype?
I've noticed that an "out of the box" HDividedBox has some serious flickering issues when liveDragging is enabled, but only when the pointer is over the contents of the DividedBox while dragging. If you grab the BoxDivider and move the pointer off the component while dragging, the flicker goes away and the component renders properly.
I have tested this with both my customized component and an extremely basic HDividedBox implementation with Group, SkinnableContainer, and BoxContainer children as well as nested groups with clipping.All types of children exhibit the same behavior.
and it would work well, but here in Flex 4.5 I don't know how to do this.Also I've noticed that there is a dropShadowVisible="true" attribute, but not sure if/how it can be used for my purposes.And I'm not sure if scaling up/down a custom component is allowed in flex or I probably should use "Flex Effects" (but how?) and also set disableLayout="true"?
Selectedcolor, true to the text true or false is false text into print.colorPicker component in, I select Export to a selected color, the color value myMC texte into summer, but accuracy can not control.
var myColorPicker:ColorPicker = new ColorPicker();myColorPicker.editable = false;myColorPicker.visible = false;myMC.visible= false;myColorPicker.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickHandler);myColorPicker.addEventListener(ColorPickerEvent.CHANGE, changeHandler);[code].........
I have id(array) used in my application.i want to select number of rows mathching given array but if i used gatagrid selected Index then it will be selected only one row only . i set data grid allowMultipleSelection="true" also .. .how can be select mutipule rows in datagrid ?
I'm developing a flash game using the default SimpleButton object for my buttons and the hand cursor is working just fine on PC Chrome and Firefox and Safari for Mac, but Chrome on Mac is not letting me swap the default cursor for the hand cursor. I've even set useHandCursor to true for every button I add a click event to and am still getting nothing.
We've got no other rollover events, so it's important that the cursor switch.
